I harbor a ridiculous amount of admiration towards the show for creating such strong female characters, unmatched even by the likes of Ellen Ripley and Sarah Connor in the most serious and well-written of adult fiction, in my opinion.

That and the show has the most upbeat, optimistic and hopeful tone I think I've ever come across before ;):D

This is a tough choice as there is a lot to love about it, but I have to go with its extremely positive atmosphere. Some episodes don't have it for sure, but most of them have such a happy feeling to them. Positivity is something that can be so difficult to achieve in life and I love that this show uses it as its basis with friendship and good morals. So many other shows in the world are dark and depressing, whereas this one creates an atmosphere of happiness without being pandering.

The positive lessons they try to teach in most episodes. For example, the positive lesson in "For the times there are a changeling" was to not judge someone based solely on their race, a lesson that can easily be applied to real life.

This is why I get pretty upset when they produce rather toxic lessons like "it's ok to cheat if you can't win" in Magic Duel.

And yet, Life Coaches promote "fake it until you make it" as a model... :(

I do like how upbeat the series is though. When life is depressing, a few back-to-back pinkie pie episodes can't fail to put a smile on your face.

Definitely the optimistic vibe all around the show.

Also the diversity of characters which makes each lesson relatable and how they use that diversity to hint subtlety not to be judgemental of different people (there are episodes focused directly at this issue, but it's hinted pretty much through all the show).

Me too!

But also the unique character designs and overall art style. I like Lauren Faust's creations and her vision of MLP is what attracted me to the show in the first place. :)

My favorite aspect of MLP:FiM is the characters.

If the characters in MLP:FiM weren't as likeable as they are I would've given up on this show after the first two episodes.

My favorite aspect is the fact that the show writers adjusted the show slightly to accommodate the unexpected influx of older viewers.

My favourite aspect from the show would be the incredible voice acting. The voice cast started off fairly weak since they were struggling to find their place but they quickly made it into their own and have been rolling ever since. I also love the vocal ranges some of them have displayed such as Tabitha St. Germain for example what with her unexpected voices such as Photo Finish and Granny Smith.

It's entertaining, energetic, light-hearted, and teaches good morals and values. The characters are so likeable and relatable and that makes it feel real. I also like the songs too because they convey the emotion, feelings and situations of the characters so well.

Basically this. I just admire the sincerity of the show so much; and there's no cynicism or irony present in its tone which is something a lot of people don't realize. But at the same time the show remains dignified can appeal to older audiences as we all know.

It's positive, funny and beautiful. The writing goes pretty deep too, allowing total dorks like me to explore all the abstract signs and symbols as it pertains to their world building.

I like the show partly because it's a meme. It's also the most unique show out there; a little girl's show with a high budget and the characters are usually horses

But what I also like about it are the sappy lessons of friendship. They're nice ♥

As many others said, the heartwarming atmosphere of the show, full of positive social relationships and morals, well-written characters with whom you can easily identify and a lot of references the older audience may catch.

It's the combination of the upbeat, optimistic tone and the well-drawn, three-dimensional characterization. At its best, that gives the show an empathetic feel which is quite refreshing among all the great cynical art out there. Plus I just care about the main ponies.
