craft Scale Military Models

Well then, I figured I would showcase the military models I've forged over the years.

 

For me it is a primarily passive hobby which is only done on rainy afternoons or evenings, sometimes with the assistance of my father. The parts are so small it is often rage-inducing and frequent breaks are... recommended to say the least.

 

Here's a few that I have done in chronological order!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Since I have had more practice and taken more time to improve my hand stability as well as patience levels I am most happy with the Bf-109 xD

 

Here's a pair I got from the Winter Holidays this past year which I have not gotten around to doing quite yet, super excited to do the Jagdtiger model though. 1:35 scale and it is Otto Carius' specific tank!~

 

 

Now then, enough about me I can't stand the spotlight, as it were.

 

What are your experiences with models, if any? Comments are appreciated~

The Spitfire really is a beautiful machine, very elegant, very British. Shame I couldn't really do it justice for it was my first attempt! xD

You totally should try it out! So much fun and well worth the effort required!

That would be great! Always good to see more content of what others have created for sure! I've never looked into helicopters very much, sadly. Likely due to them not being in usage during the Second World War.

P-38 is a very unique machine, I love the twin-tailed design, probably my most favoured American aircraft! You should take a picture of those two in your room! Post 'em here, be great to seem 'em!

Awh, you should get your hooves on some! Just pick the scale in which you prefer and away you go! I found aircraft to be the simplest due to their fairly simple fuselage and wings. Tanks are very hard for me, tons of small parts and the treads are nigh impossible.

Also, wow, I found two more models in two seperate closets! I guess I forgot about them after getting them as gifts a few years ago. Silly me.

Awesome I need to get back into building toy models airplane me and my father use to build them a lot when I was a kid . But recently tho its just hard to find a good hobby store lately. Cause I wanna build a F-15 Eagle and a B-2 bomber and the other option I have is to buy these models on ebay but they cost a lot x.x..

Okay, ive made.....umm, 8 models so far, ive been in a depressed state as of late, and model building has given me a place to relax and do something with my hands other then cutting my wrists, so...yeah X3

 

anyway i DO have plenty of pictures of all my models and the progress ive made on them but.....im sure youd be bored by that, but just in case ill supply a link with all the pictures at the end of this post.

 

My first kit was the USS Buckley (revell), a Destroyer Escort in WW2, a little bit of history on it, it actually snuck up on a german uboat and rammed the thing, how they managed that, i dont know XD

 

My next kit was the USS Yorktown CV-5 (revell)

 

 

 

(the buckley is next to it BTW)

 

My next kit was of the USS fletcher (revell) which i added rigging to to see what it looked like.

 

 

after that i kinda fell out of it for a couple of weeks, i got so depressed i couldnt get the oomph to make anything, but soon after i bought a small and easilly built kit of a Akula (hobby boss) (Akula meaning shark in russian, and since im a furry and my fursona is a shark, i liked it) class attack submarine.

 

 

After that i picked up a Cheiften Mk5 MBT (tamiya) which im mainly proud of this model beacuse of the camoflauge that i managed to not screw up.

 

 

after that, i picked up a Iosef Stalin tank model (dont remember the company name)

 

 

then a T-72 (tamiya) which i am very proud of

 

 

then finally after that i decided to try aircraft and got a MiG 21 Fishbed J

 

 

 

i hope i did okay with them, im still not very good, but yeah....and right now im working on a Pzkpfw II tank that i will have finished in the next few days, and will have pictures up soon....if anybody cares to see them.

I always wanted to build models like this when I was younger, but then I started to get more into flying RC aircraft. I wish there was more building involved in the planes I have. I'm waiting on some parts now so I can finish my most recent project.

i know how that can be, when i was younger, i built models......but they looked like grey pieces of crap, beacuse the one thing i needed was paint, and my grandmother wouldnt buy it for me >.>

Whew, this one took me awhile XD it was on hiatus for months

but now its finally finished, and in all honesty....im proud of how it turned out, yes the photo is crappy beacuse my camera is crappy, bare with me.

 

this is PzkpfW II number 241 of the DAK (Afrika Korps) and some soldeirs clearing a building

 

 

This is the newest model ive just finished, its a 1:72 scale of my favorite WW2 bird, the Supermarine Spitfire MK 1

Hmmm, I would recommend that you apply a dry brush coat around the edges of the tank with a brighter grey or maybe a bone color. That way it'll look like its been scratched by driving through and over rubble. These defiantly are good flats.

 

You may want to also try some inks in the cracks of the model and see if that is a look you like.
