When did you start wearing glasses/contacts?

The start of year eleven (I'm not sure what that is in American grades, sorry!)

I was 15 though so it's only been a year, I've already broke the two specialist pairs I had by falling asleep on various hard surfaces because of my chronic fatigue, and two pairs of selectspec £12 glasses.

How long did your first pair of glasses last you?

We have 12 grades, being 15 in school usually means 9th or 10th grade  .

My first pair broke when I got lazy not taking them off when taking off my hoodie :scoots: (lasted me less than a year). Next pair was blocky which I wore for the longest I believe (up to end of 12th grade), then I got some new ones which ....hmm... I forget if these are the same I've had since I was a freshman in college  .

Mine look fragile and I'm afraid of doing the same, in bed by crushing them.

Yeah. Because I was born in August, I was always 5 years older than my grade level. 5 years old in Kindergarten, 6 in 1st grade, 7 in 2nd, 8 in 3rd and so on until I was 17 years old in Grade 12 or Senior Year in High School.

Quarter 1 of 9th grade, because I got daily headaches from my eyes over focusing for over a year before I got them.

Not quite the same idea, but I always finished a grade on the year of the same number :pout: (10th grade finished in 2010, 12th grade finished in 2012).

I first had to wear glasses in 3rd grade. Fortunately, I mainly need them for driving but I still don't wear them as much as I should. I do dig my prescription aviators though.

I think I was in 4th grade when I first got glasses, but I didn't need them until I started driving. Got contacts when I was a freshman in college.

Summer of 2011, between my sophomore and junior years of high school. My eyesight randomly and suddenly got bad early on in the year, and I had trouble seeing things I previously was able to see fine (things far away - I'm nearsighted), but I could still see it if I squinted. During the summer, when I first went to get my driver's permit, I failed the eyesight test, so I had to get glasses before doing it again. I usually wear contacts - the only time I've ever worn my glasses in public was for one lab in college, because I didn't get much sleep the night before, so the contacts stung my eyes.

So much Pony, so little time.

I started wearing glasses when I was 9, I think?  I keep wondering if I shouldn't just switch to contacts instead but I always worry about putting anything in my eyes...

I started wearing glasses around the age of five due to sitting too close to the television when I was really young. It's been thirty years since and I still wear glasses though my vision has changed over time. I refuse to wear contact lenses as those can be really cumbersome from what I've seen.

I began wearing glasses during the summer between elementary and middle school. It really helped signal the shift from happy-go-lucky kid to awkward adolescent.:crackle:

I've been wearing glasses since I was about five. I used to need them whenever I wanted to watch TV, but now I need them all the time.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

I was about 13 when I first got my glasses. Back then I thought, wow glasses! These are so cool! I love these! Now, I hate them.  I refuse to wear them a lot of the time, I always end up getting in trouble with my mom if I'm not wearing them though.  I really want contacts.

About 21 years old. My vision was generally on the edge of needing them, and I can get away without ... but the hours of studying in college took a toll.  I currently have the same prescription I had back then and it's fairly weak in general.
