Unity 332 July 9, 2018 Share July 9, 2018 i was wondering if they can actually bleed. tirek was technically a vampire. but he absorbed magic instead of drinking blood which may be the pony equivalent. thoughts?
Kronos the Revenant 1,971 July 9, 2018 Share July 9, 2018 They probably could since they're living beings, however, due to the nature of the show, they can't show any form of bleeding from any of the characters in the show, lest they want to give the show a TV-MA rating just for showing so much as a scar. Dashy 4 Ever 4,835 July 9, 2018 Share July 9, 2018 Sure I guess so. But since the show is for little kids, they don't use any. Only scratches and bruises. Tell me this isn't the cutest thing you've seen all day?
FizzyWind 64 July 9, 2018 Share July 9, 2018 Yes but yeah the show would be be hindered if bleeding was shown. In Samurai Jack even though the cartoon had a dark story and had slavery and death in it they weren't allowed to show any blood in the show until the 5th season when adult swim got their hands on the show. When it was on CN they couldn't show jack killing human beings or living things which is why Jack would pretty much only kill robotic characters and Aku(who doesn't have blood) in the show. In the 5th season though they were allowed to show jack killing people and they even made it part of the plot for jack to come to terms with having to kill aku's human minions. jack is also shown bleeding profusly in the 5th season as well with more mature themes despite samurai jack being far from being a child friendly show itself in the beginning. In mlp's case it is in a similar situation despite dark themes being in mlp fim as well as in g1 when cartoons were less regulated on what could be done in them in the 80s. unless mlp fim or the new mlp show is targeted for older audiences i doubt that blood will ever be shown just so it can be at least family friendly which is what Faust intended and Hasbro did. that is why season 1 is pretty tame to lets say season 4 or season 7 is because the team behind the show had decided to introduce more mature and dark themes into my little pony g4 as time went on. Dreambiscuit 9,962 July 10, 2018 Share July 10, 2018 Of course they bleed. We all know ponies are life forms that have blood. If Tirek was a vampire, he was a vampire of magic, like other vampires in pop culture such as a salt vampire in Star Trek as one example. It doesn't mean the ponies don't have blood, it simply means Tirek was siphoning off something else they had and leaving the blood alone.
Nature Tune 8,392 July 10, 2018 Share July 10, 2018 Obviously, they bleed. Real live ponies bleed. Mammals bleed. They probably didn't show it because it would be too violent for some more sensitive people among the targeted audience. Thank you to the amazing @Kyoshi for making me this amazing signature! Go ask me anything at my Ask A Pony thread! https://mlpforums.com/topic/177567-ask-nature-tune/
DixonTheAdversary 1,632 July 10, 2018 Share July 10, 2018 Considering almost every living thing bleeds, I'm going to say: Yes, they do.
Cyclone 1066 3,619 July 10, 2018 Share July 10, 2018 Absolutely they bleed. I had a friend with horses and one of them rolled over onto a deer antler and it impaled their back. That horse bled for a long while. The Tractor Pulling Brony "2 years long, and still pulling strong" Thank you to everyone! This has been the happiest 2 years of my life and I owe 90% of it to you guys. Stay Awesome MLP Forums!!!

AveryGamerDude 4,640 July 13, 2018 Share July 13, 2018 I'd say they probably do. I was actually wondering this for a huge fan-fic I wanna write. (Even though I feel like writing fan-fic about MLP is cringey, especially what I plan to do.) 1 I HAVE MORPHED 5 EXODIA, SETO KAIBA!! (Thanks to Emerald Heart for the banner!) Snow Frostflame 3,568 July 20, 2018 Share July 20, 2018 They're organic based lifeforms, that eat, drink water, and breath air. I'm sure its safe to assume they also bleed.

Roughshod 719 July 20, 2018 Share July 20, 2018 No pony bleeds. No pony dies. Applejack's parents are on vacation. Vacation. The truth is always rough.
cuteycindyhoney 13,308 July 20, 2018 Share July 20, 2018 Ponies as depicted in the show are living breathing mammals. We know they can be injured, since Rainbow was hospitalized. So I'd say yes, they can bleed. Thank you Sparklefan1234!!!
EpicEnergy 23,222 September 27, 2020 Share September 27, 2020 I believe they do bleed, but that it's just not shown in the show because it's supposed to be for little girls. *totally not up to any shenanigans*
Tom Gallagher 33,590 September 27, 2020 Share September 27, 2020 Twilight’s gotten a paper-cut before so they definitely do! 2 Signature made by the amazing @Sparklefan1234

Okay, I am usually the one saying that I think, blood is needed only in shows that require the audience to feel the pain, such as Anime shows. usually, even Anime shows blood without showing the characters are actually in pain! I find that so odd and weird.
Flying Pencil 3,024 September 28, 2020 Share September 28, 2020 They would of course, but they obviously wouldn't it.

Splashee 28,566 October 1, 2020 Share October 1, 2020 I actually read a fan fic where a pony bleeds, so it is possible! Though, hopefully very rare (for me to read fan fics in the first place). I don't like bleeding ponies!

Ittoni 538 October 3, 2020 Share October 3, 2020 Of I found it. is not exactly blood because is just applejack's outline color but it was weird to me that the choose that color here particularly instead of the usual brown or black so it kinda looks like blood.
