I know, this will PROBABLY be the wrong place to talk about this (the place of this topic), but I really am too tired to change it. Sorry! (sorry if this is rude, I'm just SO tired, and I have school in the morning)

PC has better specs, but these days you can hardly tell the difference. Back in the 1990s there was a big difference between a console game and PC game. But not so much these days.

There is something to be said for being able to plug in a console and not having to worry about compatibility and specs. Also, I love retro gaming and collecting old consoles. Sometimes it's not just about the game but the experience.

I prefer PC, due to its multitasking, keyboard+mouse support and many many games to choose from. Though I still love to play on TV with controllers - this is also something I can do with PC.

From another point of view, consoles are better, due to:
- games being compatible with them without having to worry about specs (in most cases, at least)
- games have to support controllers, as opposed to PC, where even though it says it supports controllers, there tend to be problems; being supported partially etc.
- easier access to game library etc.; on PC it requires some more work and time to get into the game (I'm counting all - from boot up), especially when aiming to play with a controller, due to the need to use a mouse/kb in most cases. It's jumping all over the place; from monitor to TV then from kb+mouse to controller in the end.
- games are cheat-resistant, as it's relatively easy to hack a save file or game files themselves (for cheating purposes) on PC
- there's no random things happening in background (various OS processes and whatsoever)
- games crash less often; unless ported from PC to console- ported games are poorly optimized quite often

Hmmm... Now that I mentioned that stuff.. To be honest I don't mind if it's PC/Console- it all depends on games themselves. Consoles are way more convenient for gaming with a controller, that's for sure. On PC, I use wireless xbox controllers with Steam and while it all works perfectly while gaming, it's just messy in the interface outside them. Microsoft and/or Steam should have done a better job with the drivers/functions and whatsoever in my opinion. But well, it works in the end. :P

I don't own these modern consoles though- buying them just to have few games, probably exclusive -- meh. I never felt a need to buy these. I focus on PC.

I do loved playing back on PS2, PS1, NES and Amiga (also atari ). NES and PS1 were the best consoles in my opinion. Fantastic graphics wasn't the main point - but gameplay. I miss these times... :kindness:

So uh.. I prefer PC nowadays, but I do love consoles too, so I'll vote for "both".

I use both, but I do prefer and use consoles much more.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

mostly console ! i used to be good with computers but over the years there is just too many parts for your computer that you cant decide what you want or what goes good with that part of the computer.....with the console you just get it , put the disc in and you just play :3 its too complicated to build computers now <. < just way to much parts.

I prefer consoles myself. Easier to manage, keeps things more simple and straightforward, while providing me many features right out of the box, ready to go. I see the pluses of PC gaming, but it isn't for me. I mainly game on Xbox One in terms of systems, and sometimes the Switch, though not much lately.

I switched to PC 3 years ago, and I never looked back, and will never go back to consoles. There is just too much bullshit with consoles these days. I remember when they were just boxes to play games on. Nowadays, they're trying to be multipurpose machines, and I don't think they're doing a good job at it.

And paid online? Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo can piss off with that.

I definitely prefer consoles. There's only one franchise that I care about on PC, and that is The Sims. There is no denying in my mind that game is naturally superior on PC and always will be. However, I don't much care for the PC as a platform. I have had nothing but trouble with it over the years. Back when I was younger and was yet to have a job, I dealt with PCs that struggled massively to run even The Sims 2. Then when I finally was able to buy my own PC, I did research and asked for help, and somehow we all still missed a massive detail that the video card I chose couldn't be read by The Sims 3. Nothing but headaches all along, and all I've ever wanted to do was play The Sims!

All of the power to those who have more patience than me and enjoy the research-intensive and high-maintenance platform of the PC. As for me, I'm perfectly happy with consoles and their simplicity. The vast majority of my favorite games/game franchises are either available on or exclusive to consoles, and that's where I'm most happy playing games (The Sims aside - mods and custom content are just essential to my enjoying of that series). Especially now with the Switch, which has been an incredibly convenient platform for me to play recently, being all over the place. Meanwhile my PC is packed up and I don't know when it will be able to be hooked up again. My laptop heats up just from playing The Sims 2, so...

Console happens to be cheaper then a standard gaming PC on the market, plus it doubles as a BD/DVD player that was revolutionary at that time when PS2/3 and now 4 first came out.For the gaming the console controller is just better

What exactly is a "standard" gaming PC? Mind you, there are hundreds of combinations of parts to choose from, and it doesn't need to be extremely expensive. You also have to consider the additional costs of a console like the unnecessary online subscription, the cost of additional controllers, and the cost of games. It really adds up. Oh, and a controller isn't "just better". I would never use a controller for a competitive FPS, not would I use one for a racing sim.

I am referring to the ones thats cost several thousand dollars to buy and customize, just for the hardware alone. The one that cost bellow 1000 are no different then your basic hardware pc.

For classic games, I prefer their consoles (sega genesis, snes, etc). I play some of them with emulation software on my laptop when I'm not home, but I usually notice the difference in audio quality. Otherwise, I prefer to play newer games on my PC.

You can get a top of the line gaming PC custom made for only about $2000. It only becomes several thousand when you buy a menagerie of parts to make one yourself.

Also, I note four things about PCs that make them more than worth the price tag in my opinion:

  1. Way better performance, in general. It can't only go up to 60 frames per second, it won't overheat in roughly three hours (most consoles (particularly newer ones) do, in my experience), and the graphics look far better.
  2. PCs normally outlast consoles, by several years actually. I have a 20 year old laptop at home that can still run decently. In fact, it probably could run Paladins. Console-wise on the other hand, I haven't had one last past the 10 year mark and still work. I had a PC that would be able to run games fantastically if I didn't break it with my own irresponsible actions.
  3. PCs have more practical functions. The only things consoles really allow you to do aside from play games on them is to watch Netflix or Hulu. PCs on the other hand have things like image and video editors, along with word processing programs and the et cetera.
  4. Once you get used to using a keyboard instead of a controller, PCs actually have smoother and more responsive controls than console. WASD, in my opinion, feels more natural than joysticks, and using the mouse to look around generally works better than doing the same on a controller from my experience.

Not to mention, that $2000 is for a top of the line PC. You can still get one that performs for cheaper than that. It may not perform quite as well as the $2000 PC, but it will still run most games well for years. Maybe not a freaking decade or two, but still longer than most consoles end up working.
