Been a bit but we're back to continue the rankings as we enter episode 20 and I must say if you're a big fan of Fluttershy or Applejack this is probably a tough batch to rank but we'll see.

1. The Washouts- The conclusion to Rainbow Dash/Scootaloo psuedo-sister dynamic and the conflict is wonderful. Rainbow is a jerk for all the right reasons and also understandably wrong reasons and Scootaloo is at her most complex and mature here. Also I was never the biggest fan of Lightning Dust so I don't mind her portrayal here.

2. A Health of Information- The shining beacon of Fluttershy episodes for me that was the later season episodes. Not only is she challenged greatly but also shows the best of herself and another example of how kindness can sometimes be too much. Plus the best use of the Pillars lore building with Meadowbrook.

3. Hearthbreakers- This is an immediate treat just for getting to see the Pie Family, and the way they interact with the Apples. While Applejack could be a little out of line, it is an important message when it comes to appreciating differences in celebrations.

4. Viva Las Pegasus- A quality map mission and an interesting return for Flim and Flam. Applejack and Fluttershy are just different enough yet still play off each other well when it comes to dealing with Gladmane and the characters around the hotel which are each memorable in their own right.

5. A Horse Shoe-In- For her last solo outing it works well to wrap up both Starlight's role in the school but her entire character arc. Trixie plays her part well too and while a little much leading to a questionable ending, is still a great showcase of how strong their friendship is. Plus the candidate selection provided for an unique selection of character appearances and interactions.

6. Leap of Faith- A very middling of the key episodes with a simple lesson and structure but not only are Flim and Flam returning well in full force with a new product that actually has questionable intent, but it marks some solid characterization for Granny Smith too.

7. It's About Time- Not a bad episode at all but where all the previous episodes had character complexities to them, this is merely a fun romp through a weird time travel plot. Twilight's deteriorating mindset along with Spike's banter is enjoyable, even better when Pinkie joins at the end. But there's not much to it.

8. Green Isn't Your Color- Again like the other one only down here for being a simple story and maybe both Fluttershy and Rarity are fine here but for me Twilight is a little much. Probably the biggest culprit of Season 1's having Twilight in every story.

I'm going to say Health of Information for the new environment, Twilight and Fluttershy going together, Meadowbrooke's story, and the hooves crossed moment

This one is actually hard, I like just about all of the episodes here except for one

1) The Washouts - Season 9 and 246Great can go fuck off. As far as I'm concerned this was RD's last episode
2) Viva Las Pegasus - Applejack and Fluttershy make a fantastic duo, this episode made me wish they did more together earlier
3) Green Isn't Your Color - One of the more overlooked duo episodes in S1. Fluttershy and Rarity are a good pair and some of Pinkie's antics are hilarious
4) A Health of Information - Fluttershy is great here and managed to make Fluttershy and Twilight great as a duo even after the dreadful Hoofields and McColts and goddamn the 20th episode has a lot of Fluttershy and friend episodes
5) Hearthbreakers - One of the more low-key Hearth's Warming episodes and I really wish we had more of them
6) It's About Time - Probably one of the funniest Twilight episodes though it can get a little stupid at times
7) Leap of Faith - Least favorite key episode of S4, and I do mean over Rainbow Falls and Breezies. It's just a dreadfully unfun and uneventful episode

Haven't seen Horse-Shoe-In

  1. Leap of Faith - This Is probably the most difficult choice made in any of the season 4 “key” episodes. It’s a bit less energetic than the others, but the conflict here is unusually complex for this show. Great stuff.
  2. A Health of Information - The character behaviour here is a bit off, but like the above this has a complex moral that I can’t help but admire, and it’s also very funny.
  3. A Horse Shoe-In - I find most of the jokes here kinda annoying, but this is pretty cleverly structured and has a great moral, plus we get to see Trixie stand up for poor Gallus, which is lovely.
  4. The Washouts - Like the above, I mostly don’t like the jokes here, but it’s insightful and does a good job of conveying its moral. This one is lower because I think Dash’s selfishness is too much and because I find Lightning Dust being villainous to be disappointing.
  5. Viva Las Pegasus - This episode strikes me as pretty formulaic but it’s an enjoyable, well-executed version of its formula.
  6. Hearthbreakers - I like Pinkie’s family a lot but the main plot drags this one down for me. It’s just so predictable, and seeing Applejack struggle with Pie family traditions kills the mood of the warm family bonding moments.
  7. Green Isn’t Your Colour - This episode is very funny, but it seems like everything would have been resolved more easily if Twilight had just spilled the beans. The story disproves the moral.
  8. It’s About Time - This definitely has its moments, but it seems kinda pointless and contrived, and I find Twilight’s leaps of logic exasperating. Parts of it are funny, though.

  1. The washouts- 10/10 my favorite season 8 episode and a contender to top 10 overall. I really loves scoots and dashs interactions and we got a confirmation that scootaloo cant fly. Spitfires greatest moment in the show was right here and of course lightning dust finally returned and she made something of herself and did not left rotten in self pitty.
  2. Heartbreakers- 9/10 a really nice pikie and applejack episode with pinkies full family finaly explored. I love limestone pie, best pie in the show.
  3. A health of information- 8/10 loved the episode, FS was great here but twiligjt was really too casual of zecoras coming demise.
  4. A horse shoe in- 8/10 trixie and starlight episode, enough said
  5. Its about time- 8/10 I love twilight freak outs, its just so fun to watch.
  6. Green isnt your color- 8/10 pinkie breaks the laws of physics. Whats new?
  7. Viva las pegasus- 7/10 interesting episode.
  8. A leap of faith- 6/10 the idea and lesson behind this episode are great.

Hearthbreakers. I love that episode for many reasons, but the main one being that it's a holiday themed episode revolving around AJ. Yes I'm very biased lol. But I also just love the general atmosphere and moral of the episode.

None of them particularly stand out to me. Gun to my head: A Health of Information, because it's one of the few good Fluttershy episodes in the latter half of the series.

1-2. Green Isn't Your Color, A Horse Shoe-In – I can’t choose the best one, because I equally love these two. Both are very funny, and the model Fluttershy episode features one of the most memorable MLP lines - “Forever”, while the wink! episode lets the background characters have their moments.
3-4. It's About Time, Hearthbreakers – time travel and the clash of traditions – two classic episodes, and again I can’t pick one over another.
5. The Washouts – a great episode, I only wish LD’s story really concluded. Maybe it will in the comics.
6-8. Leap of Faith, Viva Las Pegasus, A Health of Information –episodes with very good lessons, but fewer memorable moments. I can’t call any of them bad though.

Not gonna lie, this was really hard. I like all of these episode.

  1. It's About Time (S2) - Sure, the plot might be dumb, but that's why I love it.
  2. Hearthbreakers (S5) - One of my favourite Hearth's Warming episode. I really like watching this around Christmas time.
  3. Viva Las Pegasus (S6) - Great Fluttershy/Applejack episode.
  4. A Health of Information  (S7) - Mage Meadowbrook is underrated.
  5. The Washouts (S8) - Great RD Episode. Lightning Dust makes the entire plot work perfectly.
  6. A Horse Shoe-In (S9) - One of my favourite Starlight episodes.
  7. Leap of Faith (S4) - Shoot me, but I liked this one.
  8. Green Isn't Your Color (S1) - On the bottom, but still a solid episode.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

  1. Green Isn't Your Color : A-. A classic episode in early seasons. The setting and scale of things feels proper, and how things unfold is reasonably ridiculous. Has a good heartfelt moment and good character understandings.
  2. Leap of Faith : B+. A pretty hard position that the show gave Applejack. The writing and settings are good, but what bothers delivering the episode's legit conflict to me is that I'm allergic to Flim Flam's bulls**t. And I don't even have to wait until the end of the episode, I just feel allergic when they start the bulls**t at the beginning of the episode. It would have been better if Flim Flam was established to be not 100% bulls**t con artists, and has some decency and partially are legit businessmen.
  3. It's About Time : B-. It's an adventure episode totally aimed for cartoonish fun, but the kind that I don't dig. The cliche is annoying in a way similar to - kids having a monster in a closet (not an imagination), and their parents opens it is empty - kind a way. Very predictable and not that much meaningful, not that I mind meaningless entertainment, but more like less impactful.
  4. A Health of Information : B-. Characters are good, setting is good, lesson is good, but the need for foreshadowing clipped this episode's wings.
  5. The Washouts : C+. A completely missed opportunity using fan's most wanted returning character. The conflict doesn't sell because Rainbow Dash acts weird, and all of the sudden, Lightning Dust turns out to be a homicidal sociopath just to justify Rainbow Dash's loyalty and blame it on the bad guy.
  6. A Horse Shoe-In : C +. Pretty straightforward episode, but if it wasn't for Trixie, it wouldn't simply be as entertaining. Pretty good potential as an episode material, but turned out to be mediocre at best. It's about corruption and it's very appropriate considering the character's power and position, but they don't deal it in that way. Unikitty did it better about dealing with corruption of power.
  7. Hearthbreakers : C+. Another Applejack being too stubborn and ruining everything episode. Not horrible, but have seen it many times, and most of them didn't work.
  8. Viva Las Pegasus : C. Tries to be entertaining, but it was a very boring experience to me.
