I don’t know, I’ve never really thought of that or knew such thing as a “comfort character” existed. I suppose mine would be Rainbow Dash maybe? I mean I can relate to her the most and see so much of myself in her. And she’s the one character I love seeing most of on the show and in the fandom.

Umi Matsuzaki, from the movie ‘From Up On Poppy hill.’ She has such a relaxing attitude and manages a lot of stress with a proactive approach. She’s got a quiet maturity that I really love. The whole movie relaxes me but her character may be the main reason for that.

All from Touhou:

Koishi Komeiji and Parsee Mizuhashi are the two characters I identify with the most out of any character from any franchise ever.

Hijiri Byakuren and by extension the Myouren Temple as a whole feels like a second "home" to me, if I had the choice to be transported anywhere, real or not, it would be there with all of them.

Yuuka Kazami and Junko also give off strong comforting vibes, despite them often being depicted as more, shall we say, "violent". Depends on the source.

apple jack or any of the tf2 characters (mostly engie, soldier, and sniper though).  whenever i’m upset i just watch mlp or play tf2 and see how strong and happy these characters are, and it comforts me and i feel more determined to keep trying in life. it’s silly, but it’s true 

also i don’t know if the scout counts? cuz i heavily relate/identify with him.

I would say right now Nanami Kento because I can feel most related too when it comes to adulthood.

And last, Angel Dust. I love his strong and bold personality despite of behind of it all, is someone who’s sensitive and broken. Nevertheless, his shows great confidence embracing his sexuality and who he is, it’s the reason why I like him. He can definitely balance both grace (beauty) and grits. He just a marvelous character. He literally shed the “gender expectations” and instead chose to be who he is as an individual. I guess that because I do have one side where I act pretty “masculine” but on the other side I also want to be elegant, feel pretty, a “feminine” side too.  Although I was afraid to embrace it or show that side because people would assume something like “oh so you feel you’re born in the wrong body?” No. I’m actually have no problem with my biological sex. And That’s exactly who Angel Dust’s character is! I thank Vizz for creating this character, a character who speaks out that part of me as a person.
