In the factory, I do things that range from, Strapping the paper, getting the paper to the delivery trucks, to working on the belt. We clean 'em out, upgrade 'em, install Win 7 and get them nicely tuned, then resell 'em. The majority of donated machines don't make the cut, and get recycled. I measure parts down to one hundred thousandth of an inch (.00001), do checks that machinists don't (such as parallelism, true position, circular run out, bolthole variation and surface finish), qualify and maintain equipment, and yell at machinists when they fuck up. It has it's pros and cons, but it's actually not too bad most of the time. I wanted to transfer store but could not due to different store owners. Now I am just applying for jobs hoping to hear back from some. When required (like now,) I also do field work. One of our regular field techs is in California taking a UNIX course so I'm filling in. That's why I've been travelling the Arctic for the past month and a half. I'm building satellite dishes right now. This forum has helped keep me sane. THANK YOU, GUYS AND GALS! I don't know what I'd do without you -- it gets kinda lonely working a 12 hour day then right back to the hotel I have another guy up here helping me -- he's a great guy and I consider him a friend but we don't really have that much in common. So yeah, I don't contribute anything useful to society, I guess I could be a professional Procrastinator ? No? Eh yeah thats a dumb job anyways .
