Shankveld 4,949 June 19, 2012 Share June 19, 2012 Beauty is not just for women. Looking fabulous is for everyone to enjoy. Got acne? Dry skin? Flakes? I can help. When I first hit puberty I had terrible acne, it was horrible. Now I have perfect skin, and you can too :3 . Dos&Don'ts 1. Avoid touching your face as much as possible. The less oil and dirt, the less breakouts. 2. Wash your hands often. The average person touches their face hundreds of times a day, so keep it clean. 3. Wash your face every morning and night (I like to use Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser or Exact facial cleansing gel). 4. Take shorter showers in medium cold water. Hot showers dries skin out like crazy, leaving it wrinkled and dry. 5. Use facial moisturiser (I like to use Clean&Clear advantage oil free moisturiser). Gets ride of flakes instantly. 6. Take lots of Vitamin A (the recommended does is one a day, I take 5-7). Vitamin A is key in skin health. 7. Don't eat chocolate or other high sugar foods (pop & juice included). Knowns to cause breakouts. 8. Don't drink milk. Known to cause break-outs. 9. Sleep on a difference surface every night (either chance your pillow case every night or sleep on a different towel, on top of your pillow, every night). Dead skin cells and oils from past days are known to clog your pours. 10. NEVER go to bed with make-up on your face. This gives the make-up time to lock dirt and oil into your skin. 11. Use 'zit cream' even if you don't have any zits, they prevent break-outs. (I use Clean&Clear advantage plus 3-in-1 cleanser, but what is most important is that it says 5% benzoyl peroxide) Apply to your entire face, (excluding the 'circles' under your eyes) leave on for about 30 minutes to an hour and a half and then remove with WATER ONLY. There will still be a thin layer on your face, go to sleep with this and then wash it off with a cleanser in the morning. 12. If you have a 'white-head' pop it with a sowing pin ON THE SIDE of the white head. Then using a tissue paper, squeeze all the puss and blood out. If you have any specific skin problems quote this post and I'll try to help out ~

~Chaos~ 3,967 June 19, 2012 Share June 19, 2012 (edited) Good tips, I seem to have a problem with pimples, but I know it's because lately I've been eating horribly and putting lots of junk in my system, like Chocolate , but i shall follow some of these Edited June 19, 2012 by ApocalyptiCchaos

Tenshinohana 264 June 19, 2012 Share June 19, 2012 7. Don't eat chocolate or other high sugar foods (pop & juice included). Knowns to cause breakouts. This has actually been proven to be wrong. Scientists never found any connection between chocolate and zits - this is what you'd call an "urban legend".

Scientists never found any connection between chocolate and zits - this is what you'd call an "urban legend". This is based off my own personal experience and the personal experience of all my friends. So whether or not science can prove it is irrelevant. Science can't prove gravity, but feel free to test it by jumping off a cliff. ~
roomforapony 285 June 19, 2012 Share June 19, 2012 (edited) I've got a question that maybe you can answer. I have really bad dandruff in my eyebrows (I know, it's super gross). I try to shampoo and condition them, as well as use face scrub on them when washing my face. Is there anything specific I need to do to stop them from being so flaky, or should I just follow the tips you posted and they will clear up by themselves? You probably just have sensitive skin there. For flakes I really suggest medium cool showers (and shorter ones) and moisturiser lots of moisturiser, I use to have flakey cheeks and that cleared them right up. Also because it's a hair area, you can take your razor and lightly shave over them. Don't press down and take your eyebrow off. Press hard enough to make contact, but not with your skin. This will catch all the dead and unkempt eyebrow hair that may be irritating the area ~ Well shit. I drink milk all goddamn day Skim milk is usually harmless, although I take a calcium pill and avoid it all together (: ~

Make sure its not psoreasis.Me myself got a hell a lot of it, and the worst part is that you can't cure it with anything. So far..... Why-Gnome-Ear-Fifty 400 June 19, 2012 Share June 19, 2012 Ok, so this one is a bit odd. I've had some trouble with peeling skin on the tips of my fingers. What I'm expecting is that this is because of the fact that: 1. I have dry skin (Like really dry) 2. I live in Minnesota (Like super dry) 3. I don't get that much Vitamin A (cause I'm nearly a strict carnivore XD) 4. Been practicing violin, so a lot of pressure and sharp stuff on my fingers. Any suggestions? Mephala 2,633 June 19, 2012 Share June 19, 2012 I got my mum's "no pimples ever" gene in exchange for her "freckles like a madman" one. But I wash my face with Clinique stuff and despite the price, it's well worth it.

If you've just started playing the violin it could just be callouses. Drinking plenty of water, mositurizing them before bed, getting more vitamin a (you can take them in tablet form.) and maybe putting badages over your fingers when you play would all be helpful ~ I have some blackheads, what could I do about those? I forget the name but just read the labels of their products and you'll find it. Also yes ALWAYS mositurize your sensitive skin area after you shower (I always do my hands and feet). Sometimes the benzoyl dries out my skin as well, the key is after you use it to put moisterizer on your face .

I'll definitely do the other stuff though other than bandages cause that kind of ruins the sound Thanks!

The Awesome One 1,315 June 20, 2012 Share June 20, 2012 I never really cared about my skin, I would play in the sun all day but now, there are some dots appearing here and there on my face. Is it because of the heat?
