Didn't read the OP at first...

"A Canterlot Wedding" because of plot holes, characters being introduced without any prior indication of their existence whatsoever and overall extremely convenience contrived coincidences. Also, Luna was sidelined without explanation, only to pop up at the end with a bright "what did I miss?". The episode, Luna. The episode. It's like the writers were saying "We have no reason for not having Luna around during the wedding, but we'll have her brush it off with a pithy comment... Oh, and PS: Fuck you."

I'm actually only just realizing how mad that made me...

Oh ghostie, will you ever let it go? I guess not.

Never ever in a billion years will I let the sins she's committed against the series go :D

(In realistic terms, probably, if she learned how to characterize right)

Celestia forbid, she writes a Rarity episode. I would be hearing you yell at the moon for hours on end. :P

I...don't get how any of those are obvious. Mysterious Mare-Do-Well and Magical Mystery Cure are two of my favorite episodes in the entire series, in fact. Obvious nothin'.

My least favorite episode has to definitely be Filli Vanilli! I honestly didn't like how they made Pinkie Pie, my favorite pony, out to be towards Fluttershy, my other favorite pony. It was really cringe worthy, and tore Pinkie's character down as well as Fluttershy's. The only thing I liked about the entire episode was the parts where Fluttershy sang. It was so cute. >^<

I can't say I really hate any episodes really to be honest. There are some which I don't really like as much as others, but I can't say there is an episode I can recall that I downright hate.

I'm pretty easy to please though, so maybe that's why.

I agree with UnbreakableHeart--"Putting Your Hoof Down" was a very frustrating episode. I don't think it was bad, but Fluttershy was extremely out of character.

My least favorite is definitely "Magical Mystery Cure." AARGH! The episode seemed very rushed, as if the writers weren't sure the show was going to be renewed and were trying to hastily throw together a series finale.

Games Ponies Play or Boast Busters. Both are completely terrible.

Boast Busters stars the worst character in the entire show, with her in her most annoying form. She never shuts up about how "Great and Powerful" she is (because talking in third-person is sooooo original and interesting, Hasbro  :okiedokielokie: ). The whole thing sucks. At least it had that funny Spike and the mustache gag at the beginning.

Games Ponies Play was nearly unbearable to watch because of the Mane 6's unbelievable idiocy. Why in the world would they not ask "Hey, are you the game's inspector" from the beginning? It made the entire episode hard to sit through because you knew the solution to the conflict throughout the whole episode yet the main characters are completely oblivious

Boast Busters.

Every main character (except Twilight, Futtershy and Spike) were out of character, the lesson was badly executed (in fact, I can't recall there ever being a lesson) and it introduced Snips, Snails and Trixie (three extremely obnoxious characters).

I also disliked Magic Duel. Trixie was just insufferable in that episode.

And Somepony to watch over Me. Never before have I had a bigger desire to punch Applejack in the face.

I would have said Rainbow Falls, but upon rewatching it I found myself engaged through the whole episode. Maybe it's one of those "it's so bad it's good" things. Might have to go Boast Busters now. That's one of those "it's so bad, I try to ignore its existence" things

Least favorite episode? Mine is any episode that centers around the CMC.

That's how I felt during the first season, but I eventually warmed up to them.  They were exceedingly single-minded at first, and their episodes reflected that.  I thought things improved whenever they split up the CMC for the majority of the episode and / or gave them things to do other than solely chasing after their tramp stamps cutie marks.

I think "Magical Mystery Cure" is up there (or down there) with my least faves.  It felt like they hurriedly smooshed two episodes together and therefore half-flanked both of them.  It bucked with the fundamental qualities of the Mane 6 again (Discord's doing that made him a worthy opponent / villain - Twi accidentally doing it didn't work for me so much), and there was no real emotional payoff for me - even though I could tell they were shooting for it and hard.  It was more like, "Okay THIS happened."  And then the lyrics to the song Twilight's singing at the end try to reassure you that everything's going to be fine lol.  I have referred to it as a mind****** of an episode, and it was the first time - since I'd embraced the show - that I actually thought, "Omigods, I'm watching a show for little girls."  And then Hasbro sold them some P. Twilight Sparkle toys. xD

My least favourite episodes for Season 1 are:

Stare Master

I found the characterization of the CMC incredibly irritating and overbearing in this episode, to the point I couldn't stand them. Thankfully it was only this one episode.

It's all very repetitive, and doesn't hold my interest like other episodes. The CMC misbehaves for Fluttershy, then again, and again...

While an interesting mythological creature, the way the cockatrice was portrayed was just... weird. A bit too off the road for my liking.

Also, Flutters lives right next to a forest containing such creatures, and which can turn you to stone on a dime? I find it odd she would even want to take up residency in such an area!

And poor Twilight, being turned to stone herself, and then a slimy old snail rudely making its way across her. That moment was also perhaps just a bit too much if you ask me.

The episode as a whole just feels somehow off, and out of tone with the rest of the show in general. It's not one I've come back to many times.

A Dog & Pony Show

The structure of this episode seems all over the place for a start. We have a flashback where it's not needed, and a whopping three imagination sequences, which severely break up the pace. Granted, Spike's imagination sequence of saving Rarity was amusing, but shouldn't we really be getting on with the story? It doesn't move things along at all.

Which brings me to the pacing. Some of the scenes go on for too long, such as the Mane6 and Spike actually making their way underground in the first place, and then some go much too fast, such as Twilight all of a sudden remembering Rarity's gem finding spell, which seemed too "easy" and should have presented more of a challenge in the search.

The writing for the Diamond Dogs never really resonated with me. The potential for them to be hilarious was there, and while there were some amusing moments with them, I can't help but feel they were rather wasted as characters. There was so much more that could have been done with them.

Rarity's whining also was dragged out too much, and was also another problem factor in the episode's pacing.

There's probably more I could go into, but those are some of the reasons I have watched this episode far less than others. It could have been something more, that's what I'll say.

I've posted here before. I forgot which episode I picked, but I can now say with 100% certainty that whatever episode that may have been now pales in comparison to "It Ain't Easy Being Breezies," and my dislike of that episode boils down to the simple fact that the people who worked on it did not give a single crap. It's the only episode of the series I can think of where the writers didn't even try, and that disappoints me.

I particularly dislike "Owl's Well That Ends Well", but also felt that "Magical Mystery Cure" was very rushed. MMC just leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I watch it. It should have had two parts because Twilight's becoming a princess and should have had a long and tough test to show she's ready. I still think there aren't any real "bad" episodes, it's just those are some of the lesser ones in my opinion.
