I'm a sucker for a more classical approach, thus Octavia wins my heart in music. As far as the characters themselves, that's....okay they're fairly close there. Again, however, I've a bit of a soft spot for the refined and elegant. Nothing against Scratch, but Octavia must take my vote.

Impact: Vinyl, she just appears, lays down the beat, then disappears.

Awesomeness: Octy, Hands (Or hooves, talons, claws Etc.) down, She's got enough class to be in the older bond films where everyone wanders around looking cool and rich.

 

Finally, Octavia has a li'l necklace thing, which is coot. Therefore, she is cool and awesome.

Seeing as how Vinyl Scratch is my favourite pony and Octavia is my second favourite, one may expect me to say that Vinyl is the better of the two. However, there is a particular musician that is, more or less, the combined human form of both Vinyl and Tavi, which inspires equal wub to both ponies.

 

I love music, which probably explains why my favourite two ponies both are musically themed. The amazing, grand feeling of orchestral music and the epic, fun feeling of electronic music both have captured my heart forcing me to take pleasure in listening to both of them. As such, neither pony gets extra points because they represent a certain type of music.

 

In actuality, I only prefer Vinyl because: I like unicorns more than earth ponies, Nowacking has an amazing voice, and her color scheme is awesome.

Well... I love them both equally, but I've definitely listened more recently to a lot more techno inspired music inspired by Vinyl, even though I love classical music as well. I'm particularly fond of this little beat from the "Epic Wub Time: Musicians of Ponyville" video:

I like them both; just like I love both, electro&classic music... but I have probably more of love for Vinyl Scratch. She is one badass pony and I like ponies like that. She also reminds me of my fav producer Joel Zimmerman so.. She gets my vote.

Vinyl was always a favorite. It's probably those devil red eyes. I like classical too, but I don't crank it like I do with wubstep. If both of them mashed up it would sound like the theme to a DoDonPachi boss.

Octavia, if only because classical music trumps dubstep in my book. Although I'll have to admit Vinyl's music is intended to be more interesting in the show, especially in terms of energy. Which is too bad, because there's plenty of energetic classical music out there.

Which leads me to this question: Why in the name of Tartarus and Celestia was Octavia losing? Goodness you guys! C'mon! I mean best pony needs your votes. NEEDS them! Seriously!

 

Octavia is my favorite, classy, hot, good looking, gorgeous, plays a cool instrument, and is far more refined than Vinyl. Not that I dislike Vinyl, she's probably my second favorite or something, but Octavia is just...

In terms of impact: Octavia, because she spiked an interest in me learning music. I've already purchased an Ocarina.

I think Octavia has more of an impact on me and her music style is great. Vinyl Scratch, though wins out at awesomeness. Ugh I hate choosing between my two favorites. I was about to not vote until I saw that you could vote for both.
