What should AJ's song be about?

NOTE: As far as I know, there has been no word on a song for Applejack so there is no spoiler tag.

 

Season 3 is approaching. Eventually, it shall grace us with its presence. And I refuse to believe that AJ will not have her own special song. So ladies and gentlecolts, what would her song be about?

 

Should it be predictably about apples and the apple farm? Or perhaps a song where she introduces and talks about the Apple family? We could even have a sad song about...her parents.

 

A song about how she got Winona, about her time in Manehattan, her hat even! I don't know, but I do know that whatever it is she ends up singing about (because it WILL happen, it just has to, right?) it will be a great song.

Eh, it could be anything. I doubt it will be about the farm, it'll probably be based on something in the episode. It's not very easy to predict, unfortunately. Though, other members here probably have some creative ideas :3

I could see AJ having a simple work song about her daily activities on the farm, how she runs things with her brother, and go through her labor, and she sings about how she enjoys it. It could be a rather optimistic opener for an episode that happens within the first seven minutes, followed by the big problem of the episode, that somehow has to do with the farm.

 

but all in all, I'm not sure. AJ does need a song, but I don't have any really good specific ideas for one.

Yeah, AJ didn't have a solo yet. I do like her singing voice like in "The Crystal Fair" If the episode centers around her, it could be about the situation she is in, and I think that's when AJ should have her solo, if the episode is about her.

I agree with you Twilie'Zorah, that her character needs something other than "Hey, I'm an apple farmer. All your bits are belong to me" She hasn't had a "meltdown" episode yet and no, I'm not counting Applebuck season as that was fatigue, not craziness. She should go crazy and start wanting to sell oranges or something. Then she goes off to Manehattan again. A song about oranges...from Applejack...the fans would never see it coming!

You never know -- if she ever did get a song, it could be about earthshaping. I mean we know about unicorn magic, we know about the special connection between the pegasi, clouds, weather, flight, etc. but very little about the magical nature of the earth ponies. About the special connections that allow an earth pony farm to thrive where unicorns and pegasi would fail.

That is something I have been woundering about to. It could be about apples, the farm, their huge family. What I would like it to be about is her parents and what they ment to her and the other members of her family and at the end make it super sad. Something like that.

Personally, I would LOVE a hoe-down/family-get-together/rodeo where the whole Apple family sings. Applejack would have the biggest part in the song, but Big McIntosh, Applebloom, Granny Smith, and hell, maybe even other Apple family members like Apple Fritter would sing a bit!
