I don't think 4chan is too horrible but it is a bit nasty. I use /int/ and /sp/ mainly. I am addicted to 4chan and I can't stop going there. once you're there you are there forever. no leaving the ride.

 

I do use one of the porn boards and I miss when /mlp/ was new and had no mods or janitors.

What I like about it is you aren't inclined or feel like you're forced to do anything. Everyone is anonymous. No accounts, no "brohoofs", no archives, nothing like that. This is both a good thing and a bad thing. On the bad side, you lose the "community" feel of being a part of a website. There's no real interaction. But at the same time, it's amazing because it isn't a "popularity contest". Everyone is on the same level.

 

As for the content. it's true that the majority of it can be seen as discardable nonsense, which may be true, but every now and then you'll find some interesting and serious stuff. It's mostly unfiltered which can bring out the best and worst in people. Browse at your own discretion.

 

That being said, I browse 4chan only if I'm incredibly bored or if I just have absolutely nothing else to do. Some credit has to be given to 4chan for spawning nearly every meme on the internet. Also, the brony fandom wouldn't exist if the pony threads never started up

4Chan is aight, and it's an important part of internet culture. I also personally like Moot and his opinions on the power of internet anonymity, I suggest people go look up his Tumblr and read what he has to say, it's quite fascinating.

Well, whether we like it or not, it's where bronies came from, and we gotta respect them for that. I've been there many times before and it's a place for people to be complete assholes and not get called out for it. Which is a good thing! Socially acceptable people can vent their socially UNACCEPTABLE things there, and the assholes can just be assholes on that site only (in most cases). It's pretty funny there and a lot of green text stories (you'll see what that is if you go there) that are outright HILARIOUS! It also has many memes exclusive to it (e.g.Spaghetti and sage, although sage is also a function). Also, 9/11 jokes and clopfics galore, so expect to get offended a lot in the early stages. There are a lot of funny and good things on it too, so give it a chance. However, if you are offended easily, DO NOT GO ON IT!! They offend just about every group there is out there. So before you go on, remember, it's not all love and tolerance over there like it is down here! So if you don't get too offended, and make it through the initial stages of shock at the content(dont worry at least no r34 pics on the /mlp/ board) then welcome to the club ! Different people have different opinions though and a lot of people (understandably) hate 4chan, so don't expect to definitely enjoy it. If you don't like it after the first few days or weeks, don't force yourself to go on. it won't be worth it. Trust me. So anyways, good luck!

There are two things that are sacred on 4chan from what I've seen in my hour or two lurking and that is lulz and p0rn.

ED's old motto used to be 'in lulz we trust' that came about out of a few 4channers far as I can tell.

I don't really like 4chan nowadays. It's just another shithole. Sure something good comes out of there, but its always every 5 or 10 years that happens. It's not worth it sticking around on that site with the worst insults around, and the humor and talk the people use on there use is just awful. The memes that come out of there (RickRoll, Doge) are pretty much short lived. Doge is definitely the worst, but I think that RickRoll will always be around.

I had the weirdest WTF experience ever on the pony section of 4chan, I wnt on their, I was board so I created a new topic titles "Do you think the brony fandom is dying?" And I get a bunch of responses from people saying they they aren't bronies, they are just in it for the R34, So what the HELL LMAO....I guess trying to have a serious discussion on 4chan is asking a little too much.....lol, leave it to 4chan!

I think the problem with 4chan is that a lot of people think it's just /b/. Some boards are really good, and I visit them often. I visit /vg/ for the Animal Crossing general threads, /mlp/ often has a Pinkie Pie image-sharing thread for me to harvest, and boards like /wg/ and /mu/ are just generally a lot more friendly than the rest.

 

My brother once told me an interesting idea about the boards; if it has a yellow-red background, it's a terrible board. If it has a blue background, it's a great board.

I think 4chan is alright. I mean, it's the birthplace of the bronies. Of course, I'm sure that at the time, it was more of a troll thing but it eventually caught on and turned into this. 

 

4chan is the birthplace of many thing on the internet. 

 

At the same time, the average IQ of 4chan is about a solid 60. So yeah, I don't lean either way with 4chan. I usually don't play around on 4chan but I do enjoy some of the things that come out of 4chan.

Never been on a board with a blue background only yellow. I've been on are /mlp/ which was full of creepers, and /v/ which was mostly full of 12 year olds arguing over best console.

I say 12 but there prolly older than me but just act like tards.
