gaming What is the hardest game you have played?

Hehe, I made the mistake of starting Cave Story on hard mode. I am currently stuck on Monster X because anything he hits me with is a one shot, and there's always one of those projectiles I don't notice.

Aladin for the SNES

that game wasn't impossible, but it was fairly challenging.

The king of fighters (all of them)

I love fighting games, i really do even if i'm not very good at them, but KOF was really hard for me regardless of who i picked as my team.

The Binding of Issac

It is a very good game and all but man,

IT IS HARD, VERY HARD.

It randomizes the the game every time, and every floor is different. Having a different experience every, single, time.

And the WORST part is that to win the game, you have to play at least 13 times.

But for all that its like only $5.00, so its so worth it. B)

The Binding of Isaac can be hard, but can also be very easy. It's all down to luck really, if you're lucky and get the right items you'll have a much easier time throughout the game. The game's use of random elements does make sure it stays interesting and enjoyable for a long time though, so I must recommend it to anyone who's interested.

"I Wanna Be the Guy" - This game was designed to be hard, with some odd and quirky platforming elements. Often times the way to progress is counter intuitive and the game requires some very precise jumping. This game is probably the hardest I can think of.

And a special mention has to be said for the last stage in Cave Story, It really does live up to it's name "Hell". Although it is nowhere as bad as IWBTG it is pretty challenging. Having to dodge falling rocks and deal with flying enemies is not an easy feat, but it's doable.

The Worlds Hardest Game. Come one, come on, let us see how far you can get before you want to throw your computer out the window and pull out all your hair. Made it to level 10 with 125 deaths before I quit.

For me, it was Big Rigs Racing.

It was hard to try to even concentrate I was laughing so hard.

And it's hard to actually try to race because the controls are so crap and you just magically drive through buildings and stuff XD

(For the record, if I need a pick-me-up, out comes Big Rigs.)

Shadow of the Collusus for the Sony PlayStation 2.

That game is just... I don't even know. That game is so fucking hard it once made me want to throw a kitchen knife across the room because I was too impatient to kill the first giant.

Oh, and back in 2010, when I really got into video games, tried Alan Wake.

I was used to playing not so difficult games like Mario Cart and stuffs.

Thinking with my early teen brain, I was like "Awh, yeh, Nitemare mode gun b so ezee bro!"

WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING

Maybe it's easier now, but I'm too afraid to try it again.

As for another hard game, Lenora and Elesa in Pokemon B & W were hard.

A lot of mentions of Zelda II here, and understandably so.

Hmm...the hardest game I've ever beaten would be the original Ninja Gaiden for NES.

Hardest game I've ever played is a different story...with several candidates.

Battletoads, Ninja Gaiden 2/3, Metal Warriors, the first Mega Man (I actually find Mega Man 2 to be the easiest of the NES 6 by far but apparently that's just me), Zelda II...

...

oh, and Paladin's Quest. Only because it's hard to keep your brain from leaking out of your ears when you play it.

The last Mission on Starcraft 2. Zerg units kept swarming at my base, and Kerrigan keeps getting revived. I had to use banshees cloaked to take out the Nydus Worms.

Hardest thing I attempt is a Combination of Doom II(With ZDoom), AEOD(a Mod for Doom II), and Oblige Level Generator.

Oh and the hardest game I played is FTL - Faster than Light, but doesn't mean I don't like it.

All of these games have caused me an untold amount of rage. In fact, I'd consider the first two the bane of my childhood. Love them all though, but FUCK THEM in terms of difficulty... repressed memories ho!

I would have to say the hardest game so far would be Pokemon mystery dungeon. That game is really fun, but at the same time, really hard.

No game can outmatch any challenge than the one I am about to post at this very moment.

I find that the hardest games can never be PvE games. They can be hard, but nothing is more challenging or rewarding (in my opinion, mind you) than learning a PvP game and playing it well. There is always someone better, and always room for improvement, there is almost never a point of mastery. I'd say the top 3 I can think of would be Chess, Starcraft Brood War, and Fighting Games.

I'll throw out some random facts about the latter two.

Brood War has been a competitive game in Korea for over a decade (The Ongamenet starleague was started in 2000) and is a spectator sport there on par with American Football (in the USA). One measure of skill in Starcraft (and also in other RTS's) is one's APM, or Actions Per Minute. Each command you give the game, be it move, attack, build, or train, is an action; and APM is just mapping those over time. (

) Most professional BW players have above 300 actions per minute. I personally could never average above 65 over the course of a game.

In fighting games we measure moves in terms of frames. The game runs at 60fps (frames per second) and thus we can separate each individual frame of animation and look at the hitboxes of moves. Jabs, the fastest attacks in most fighting games, often have between 4 and 6 frames of start-up animation. That means that it takes 4/60ths of a second for that move to hit. So when I say you have to make split second decisions in fighting games, you'll know that it's the truth.

Some of my favorite hard PvE games would have to be Dark Souls, and Ninja Gaiden (the xbox version).

There is NO LIMIT to the goddamn hardness of this game! Especially if you go for the best ending. The last level, The Sealed Grounds, has a sign at the beginning that literally says "Welcome to Hell!" But still, I love the game.

The original NES Metroid. The areas repeat themselves so much that it can get confusing, no range on the weapon, and two hits from an enemy and you are dead until you find some health tanks. My all time favorite game series, but that first one is brutal.

Recently, like months ago, Trine 2 was by far the hardest. I know the trophies are short, but they're also HARD to earn. I even went through the walkthroughs and yet I can't even get past it... I'll never play this game again if it's just simply impossible to earn those small, albeit difficult, trophies at all. http://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png
