Well my first episode was a Rarity episode(Suited for Success), so the bias kind of started right away. I saw how dynamic of a character she was- both dramatic and humorous, I both felt for her and laughed with her. Not to mention her beautiful singing... I don't think anything could have stopped me from falling in love with Rarity.

My love for Rarity began at Suited for Success but it was solidified and confirmed at Dog and Pony Show. At first Fluttershy was my favorite but then Rarity came and shoved her out of the spotlight. Rarity is just awesome.

I've loved Derpy from the beginning, but I only had a reason when "The Last Roundup" was aired. I started truly loving Pinkie Pie at "A Friend in Need". I've always hated Rarity until "Sweet and Elite" when I finally saw how she truly loves her friends more than just glamour.

For me, it has always been Twilight with Rarity hard on her heels. If i had to pick a defining moment for either, it would be:

-Twilight trying to get Rainbow into reading and desperately trying to keep her own enthusiasm for Daring Doo from gushing out

-Rarity quoting whatever the mlp version of Shakespeare is, when confronting Sweetie Bell in Ponyville Confidental , only to comfort her later by assuring that she's better than this (oh the feels )

My favorite pony has been Celestia since the beginning. Sort of liked her appearance in the first episode, but The Ticket Master sold her. I saw the subtle trolling antics on her part and as I continued to watch the show and continually see her hoof in so many different antics, I grew to love her even more. By the time I reached Best Night Ever and Lesson Zero, I was certain she was my favorite.

Rainbow Dash has been my favorite since she started to love to read, in the episode Read it or Weep, I did like her in some parts in different episodes and Twilight Sparkle used to be my favorite; but Read it or Weep told me that Rainbow Dash was best pony.

I started to like Rarity after Sisterhooves Social (along with Sweetie Belle), and it was definitely one of the episodes that touched me the most. Especially the drama scene with the painting. :I

 

Oh well, after that, I saw her in a new light, even in the re-runs.

 

...oh, and before that, Rainbow Dash was my favourite. Because of the awesomeness. ...and before that Pinkie Pie... But it all started with Twilight Sparkle. I know that much. :3

My first time seeing MLP was the very first episode on youtube. I was only watching it to humor my husband (who was not a brony at that time, but somehow knew of MLP - I had no idea it was a show and had not heard of it. He only brought it up cause I was having a bad day and he put on something cute to cheer me up) so I was kinda http://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png until Twilight met Pinkie Pie.

 

ANTI. GRAVITY. GASP. From this,I was sold that I'd like the show, and first meeting Fluttershy completely sealed the deal. I laughed hysterically at her squeaking. By the end of the first two episodes I was leaning toward Applejack as my favorite (no one needed to save her falling off that cliff, she even got down on her own). I knew I liked Pinkie, I absolutely loved her No Fear song, how she "wasn't all there" and I loved her train of thought (freaking Nightmare Moon is here and she's like OOH! GUESSING GAMES! HOKEY SMOKES! QUEEN MEANIE!) I was uncertain as to who I'd claim as my favorite until I saw Griffon the Brush Off.

 

How Pinkie handled Gilda made her my super number one favorite. Everything said between them at Gilda's party.

 

But to be super specific as the exact moment(s) that this specific pony became my favorite, here are le quotes!

 

Gilda: I know what you're up to.

Gilda: Rrrh. I know what you're planning.

From there Pinkie Pie was best pony. Then Season 2 came along, and with it the Smile Song. That's when it became really clear that she would always be best pony :3

When I first started watching the series, I really liked Fluttershy. She was my favorite from the beginning. Later on, I watched Sonic Rainboom, and my favorite shifted towards Rainbow Dash. She's been my favorite ever since.

Well from the start I got that vibe from Rainbow Dash that she was probably my favorite, but I didn't want to make that decision too early. Even the rainboom was awesome, but I just waited to see how it played out.

As far as the show goes I'd have to say that Twilight slowly won me over. My first fav was Rainbow cause shes col and all that. But some how Twi, with her adorkablenes finally got me. However, Octavia is my all time favorite pony. She's even more difficult to figure out why I like her so much. I'm not sure if its just from fanfics or what, but theres just something about her classy, refined, poised. I'd imagen that if I were to meet a real girl like her I just might fall head over hooves.

I haven't watched all the episodes in chronological order, but I have managed to see every episode at least once. So it is not like a character necessarily took a long time for me to like.

 

Rainbow  Dash: Her "At the Gala" part. Especially her voice making that cute crack when she says, "They'll shower us with diamonds". I also think it is cute that "thousands" and "diamonds" doesn't rhyme.

 

Pinkie Pie: "Smile Smile Smile", and maybe also her da Vinci flying contraption in "Griffon the Brush-off", and her practicality in "Swarm of the Century".

 

Rarity: The typical "A Dog and Pony Show" probably.

Giggle at the ghosties did it for Pinkie. One of the catchiest songs ever.Rainbow Dash, when she said "It needs to be about 20% cooler". Twilight "ALL THE PONIES IN THIS TOWN ARE CRAAAAZY!". Fluttershy, Rarity, Applejack not so much. Derpy saying "Muuufins" in Applebuck Season. Colgate appearing as one of the 3 ponies that stopped Twilight on a bridge in episode 1. One the first characters that appeared other than princesses and Twilight. Then re-appearing in Canterlot Wedding. Also having a game made with her floating a huge toothbrush... Damn... Also love her color scheme. Scootaloo in Sleepless in Ponyville, she gave me diabetes.

I wasn't too impressed with Fluttershy at first, but laying the verbal smackdown on a full grown dragon? Dayum, sistah!

 

Also, I've always liked Twilight, but I felt her pain in Lesson Zero and have liked her more since.

Oh yes, here's the part where I get to show off how different my tastes are from everyone else!

 

Twilight Sparkle: Everything about her in Look Before You Sleep.

 

Applejack: As Smart Cookie in Hearth's Warming Eve. Bucking hilarious.

 

Rarity: Episode 1. She's so engrossed in her work and caring about the design. I dunno what people are talking about that she only shines later in the season.

 

Fluttershy: The Stare Master. OMG FLUTTERSHY HAS FLAWS OTHER THAN BEING SHY.

 

Pinkie Pie: For once, a normal choice: Party Of One, when she gets paranoid about her friends. I think I liked her discording scene more though.

 

Rainbow Dash: Her monologue in The Mysterious Mare Do Well after being left alone and abandoned. It's like a combination of all the flaws in Rainbow Dash that make me love her.

 

Spike: When he tries to outshine Owlowiscious in Owl's Well That Ends Well. Poor guy.

Rainbow Dash before I even watched the show. She's that awesome.

 

Wouldn't really know what to say for the other characters. :/ I still like them though, just for reasons I'm not sure about.

Applejack: She was the first to win me over, it is hard for me to pick one thing.

 

Twilight Sparkle: That adorkable slight social awkwardness kind of reminds me of what I was like when I was a kid. I still have quite a few of her qualities with some Applejack now mixed in and a touch of Pinkie Pie.

 

Pinkie Pie: Smile smile smile, need I say more?

 

Rainbow Dash: She took me a bit longer, I liked Rainbow Dash well enough but was under the opinion she was slightly over rated. Sleepless in Ponyville and Wonderbolt Academy made her 20% cooler in 10 seconds flat.

 

Fluttershy: Okay she is adorable, and I also loved animals especially dogs so this was an easy one.

 

Rarity: She hasn't really fully won me over yet, she is my least favorite of the Mane 6 but there are some things I do like about her. When it has shown her generous side which it dosen't do enough of she does represent her element well. This is especially apparent in suited for success when she made dresses for all her friends free of charge and that she often does things she doesn't really want to do for the sake of her sister. And I like her creativity side which I would also like to see explored more in the show, I always thought that a creative mind is a healthy mind.

 

Spike: Spike is like a combination of a little brother figure and a pet, and lets face dragons are pretty cool even baby dragons.

 

Derpy: Those eyes and her love of muffins just make her so cute

 

Luna: I liked Luna before but Nightmare Night really had me loving her, awkwardly struggling to fit in and people not understanding you is something I know all too well.
