Dumbest pokemon related argument: original 151 is the best! pokemon got uncreative and stupid after that.

I'd say the dumbest argument is when people say any Pokemon design after Gen 2 is terrible because it's unoriginal.

That, or when people criticize Gen 4 for adding Pokemon that are just evolutions of previous Pokemon, when Gen 2 did the exact same thing. :/

...No offense to anypony who has done this before.

Now question... anyone played "Lost Silver"

I read the pasta. Very well done, but I never played the game itself.

I like to think of myself as a semi-competitive battler, even though I never seriously battled someone. I mostly lurk on Serebii and Smogon, learn the mindset/strategies, and do the Battle Subway. My highest streak is only around 40, but I haven't done it with my fancy new DW Pokes yet.

My favorite game is Emerald, so I can't wait for the eventual R/S remakes. I have an Adventure Time-themed team planned:

Blaziken (Finn)

Manectric (Jake)

Sharpedo (Marceline)

Gardevoir (Bubblegum [stupid 10charlimit])

Flygon (Rainicorn)

Skarmory (Key Hand [HM slave, mostly])

Which reminds me: I should probably read through this thread before asking, but does anyone have pony-themed nicknames? I tried to think of some:

Ninetales (Celestia) <Drought 'tales

Arcanine (Dash) <Extremespeed/Wild Charge/Close Combat

Alakazam (Twilight) <Magic Guard and a species named after "magic words", but maybe Rapidash fits better...

I read the story too. It's great, but I personally don't find it as creepy as the Pokemon Black story(Not to be confused with the actual game that came out: P)

Am I the only one who was scared of Lavender Town and everything in it? I remember as a kid absolutely hating that place because everything in it was scary. While I've grown out of that, its still a bit creepy to go there, and that old Ghost sprite is still freaky.

Thats another good story, the Lavender Town Syndrome.

I found Lavender town a bit creepy, but I wouldn't say scary.

Then I found Lavender Town Syndrome and Pokemon Black... those are scary, and headache inducing.

Oh, I've read Lost Silver.

It wasn't as scary as I expected but, upon watching the fanmade video for the story, I was absolutely terrified when the cries of whatever Pokemon that were sent out were delayed by mere milliseconds. Something about that delay just unsettled the hell out of me, especially considering that most of the sprites were subtly edited with a morbid overtone.

keep it real .

The fact that these mods for the pastas actually exist makes me wonder if the stories are actually made up or not. And listening to the Lavender Town track from the original Japanese games (Red and Green) actually does have an effect on the brain. Binaural tones and such. The music is actually subtly different between the Japanese and English releases

I think the ROMs where made after the stories where written. But even so they are still creepy/scary.

As for the lavender town syndrome... that is quite scary, mainly because it seems the most plausible. If we can confirm that the "original" track is the real thing and was in the original games then the myth may be somewhat true.

I'm pretty sure there was no wave of mass suicide, but I have seen a video of someone playing Green and going to Lavender Town. The music induces headaches in a way the English games didn't, as far as I remember. Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZOd_gFld9c

I love Pokemon so much! It's probably my favourite video game series.

Favourite Pokemon: Gengar. I never liked gengar at first, but I just kind of grew attached to it after a while. He's awesome :)

I also like purrloin and liepard quite a lot, but only really because purrloin was the first shiny I ever caught, which made me really like the lil' kitty

My favourite types are ghost and bug. I don't know why, I used to hate those types most of all, but I've grown to appreciate them.

I love Pokemon mainstream games and the cardgames. The spinoffs seem to lose my attention too quickly. It isn't the games' fault, but there it is.

My favorite Overall Pokemon is Mewtwo; excluding Legendary Pokemon my favorite would be Onix, Metagross, Machamp, or Dragonite. My personal favorite Generation was the third, because your character had not a deformed body....until Fire Red and Leafrgreen, but you know what I mean.

That being said, I couldn't pick a generation I did not like.

Mewtwo is my favourite as well, mostly due to the films centred around him.

Mewtwo reminds me of myself in some ways; like me he's misunderstood.

Let's see... a trainer to pony comparison

Ruby to Rarity (They can talk about beauty to one another)

Hareta to Fluttershy (I picture Fluttershy speaking to Hareta differently then others, I picture her treating him as one of her animals)

Ryouga to Rainbow Dash (Dash needs someone as a rival)

Sapphire to Pinkie Pie (The party animal and a real animal)

Ms. Berlitz and Twilight (both are book smarts)

can't think of one for Applejack

okay ponies, give me all your treasure.
