My pick is Shining Armor for President and Miss Cheerilee as Vice President. Twilight Sparkle can be the Secretary of State.

Have Shining Armor be the secretary of defense! He's already prepared to be in that position from what I've seen from the show. :P

I would vote for Celestia. She is already experienced, she is nice and fair to all of her subjects. I think that she could make huge improvements. Plus she can be scary so she can scare stupid Congress into actually doing something than sitting on their butts getting money.

Celestia for president! She's ruled Equestria for over 1000 years, it's time to conquer another country- I bet she would have dealed with Osama Bin Laden by sending him to the moon. Luna would be vice of course, with the Mane 6 being the Secret Service- I gotta admit that would be a pretty sweet America. B)

Pinkie is a good choice. Her and Fluttershy would definitely be for peace.

I think Twilight because she's very smart and organized. She won't put up with the stuff that's going on, she's learning to be more calm now under pressure. (Games Ponies Play). She would outsmart anyone in office right now. I think she could make a great president :)

Applejack for sure. She's the most rational and down-to-earth of the Mane Six ponies, and she genuinely cares about doing what's right and what is best. She has enough backbone to do what needs to be done, and she's a capable leader through and through.

Plus, we all know honest presidents are best presidents.

What do you mean Applejack is honest? She lies all the time and doesn't deserve the element of honesty. She is more loyal than anything. Rainbow Dash should be element of honesty.

I think it would be Twilight Sparkle, and Applejack for President, and Vice President. Twilight would use her knowledge, and Applejack would balance her with her common sense. Even though Twilight would have the flaw of being too reliant on her books, and knowledge, just like Applejack would have to watch out for her stubborn pride.

Well, we can agree on one thing. Applejack is definitely loyal, something Dash has forgotten a time or two. You can't expect anyone to be honest all of the time, just like you can't be loyal 100% of the time. That's not human. It just doesn't happen. Applejack is still the most honest member of the group and tells the truth when it really counts for something.

I guess. But I still think that Rainbow Dash is usually the one who doesn't jump around the Bush when dealing with friends and is completely honest with them. And Applejack is usually the one who is there for her friends.

Fluttershy for president! We shall have enteral world peace!

Ok maybe not, I'm thinking more like twilight, she seems like she'd be best suited being as mature and knowleable as she is, give her some books on us government and politics and I think she'd do great!

I can see where you're coming from on that. I remember in Suited For Success, it was Rainbow Dash who came out and told Rarity she didn't think her dress was cool, while everyone else including Applejack tried to spare Rarity's feelings by beating around the bush. Yet, that's really the only type of situation in which Applejack lies. She'll fib to spare someone's feelings, or if she just plain has to as in Party of One where everyone had a surprise party planned for Pinkie. And in that episode, everyone lied. :P

She represents other meanings of honesty, and she is still quick to tell the truth in many other situations.

Aide: Madam President, the latest voter statistics just came out. They show a deeply divided nation.

President Pinkie: *stern expression while looking down and making toy versions of Bush Jr. and Obama kiss* Yes, I know.

Aide: It's rather troubling.

President Pinkie: I fixed everything.

Aide: You fixed everything?

President Pinkie: I got rid of the current political parties. I'm replacing them with cupcake and confetti parties.

Aide: That's...what?

President Pinkie: Parties are for fun, not for arguing. From now on, nothing but dancing, singing, eating, laughing. Because that's how America was made.

Aide: Oh. But what will you do if people disagree?

President Pinkie: *cheerfully* I have no idea.

Aide:  I see. *waits*

President Pinkie: *back to playing; makes brush-off motion with her hoof* Oh, we're done. Thank you.

Maybe, but she did lie in Look before you Sleep when she said she had something to do at home in order to get out of the sleepover. Also, in The Last Roundup, she breaks a Pinkie promise and lies to her friends about how she didn't get 1st place. And she did these things out of cowardice.

Applejack is my favorite pony, but I would have to agree. Seems like Applejack is more loyal, and Rainbow Dash is more honest. On that note, Rarity is generous, but also selfish, somehow. The writers like to contrast the characters against their elements, but I think they overdo it!

My vote would be for Applejack. Twilight and Applejack are both strong leaders, and very smart! However, Twilight has a tendency to crumble under the pressure. Applejack for president!

Well, I'm Canadian, so we have Prime Ministers instead. .u.

I've actually brainstormed on this topic before.(I'll try to remember my past thoughts.)

I actually think Rarity would be the best. She runs her own business, and seems rather responsible. She doesn't crack under pressure it seems, either. She's very organised, and can keep on task.

I know others have good traits for the role, but also are flawed.

Heck, even Rarity is. She over works herself sometimes, and would possibly work more on the decoration of the White house opposed to other things.

Like, Twilight Sparkle is a good leader, and is organised. She has the skills for it, but even with the increased ability to be calm under pressure, I don't trust that would be down at all times. She'd probably over-work herself, though.

Fluttershy would be much to shy to speak up, I would imagine. And if topics like war were brought up, she wouldn't know what to do. But she is quite smart, and seems to know how to get others out of a pinch. She'd also probably keep more on the 'peace' side of things.

Pinkie Pie probably would be too silly with it. Wouldn't take it seriously. She knows how to fix problems and such it seems, and would keep laws fun. She's also become quite responsible.

Applejack also would be good. She's a great leader, is honest, and again, smart. But I would imagine she'd overwork herself, or focus too much on one thing, leaving possible other problems to grow.

Rainbow Dash is loyal, so she'd keep relationships with other countries well. She knows how to take charge in situations, and is confident. But, I don't feel like she's the "leader-type." I would imagine she'd, much like Pinkie, would goof off too much for it. And Rainbow Dash cracks easily under pressure it seems, so that's another issue.

Rarity for Prime Mi- President!

Yeah, sometimes it looks like the writers make the characters do random things just to make us remember that they are Element of (insert element of harmony here). Twilight, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy are fine, but RD randomly does loyal stuff that doesn't correspond to the context of her enviorment. Applejack hardly does anything honest and when she does, it is for Duh! Moments. (Like that scene in the first episode where Applejack tells Twilight to let gp. That isn't really being honest). And Rarity is very generous, so I don't have a problem with her element. I just have a problem with RD's and Applejack's elements.
