I started off liking Rainbow Dash the most because of her cool design, but when I started to get well known with the full cast and their personalities, I quickly found out Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie were my favorites due to finding them very relateable as well as always having great episodes.

My favorite character when I first saw the show was Luna despite her having very few lines at the beginning of the show. I don't know why but something about her just made me instantly like her the first time I saw her in the series. My opinion about her haven't really changed much at all except I like her more now as a favorite since she has a personality that I can relate to completely. As for the Mane 6, I like them as characters pretty much equally. The only characters that I take more interest in than the others is Pinkie Pie and Rarity. Lets be honest, who can't think Pinkie Pie is hilarious in her own right? As for Rarity; the way she over reacts to things is amusing, and that "Tom the Rock" bit was hilarious.

Princess Luna is my favorite pony!

I find I can relate to Luna more than any other pony. She was gone for a thousand years, everyone she knew from before were gone, so she really had no one but her sister Celestia. She had a hard time fitting in, and this was like me when I was younger I didn't have many friends and I didn't fit in, but the friends I did have supported me. So I find myself seeing Luna as I see myself. I also really like the night so that is another reason.

Was a tie between Fluttershy abd Rainbow Dash at first, but after a while it became Scootaloo I just couldnt help it after Sleepless in Ponyville and then I went back and rewatched old episodes.

At first really liked Applejack because I could relate to her honesty and hardworking personality. I actually didn't like Rainbow Dash that much at first, but after she developed a lot I really began to appreciate her character. Applejack is still one of my favorite ponies.

I can't remember 100%, but I think it was Fluttershy.

 

After that, it kept jumping from pony to pony until Pinkie Pie took the spotlight. Initially, I thought she was just annoying. Now, er, not so much? (plsdunhurtme)

Considering the Pilot was the first episode I saw, none of them really made a good first impression on me except Pinkie Pie. She had pretty clever dialogue, and seemed to be the only one not tied down to a cliche'd stereotype.

 

 

Nowadays, It would have to be Rainbow Dash. She's not only a badass, but also has the deepest and most complex personality, and seems to be the one who has to make the most moral decisions based on her element.

 

It's not uncommon to see RD caught inbetween two conflicting loyalties, most infamously during Return of Harmony, where Discord used her loyalty to her home as a way to defeat and corrupt her.

 

She also had to stand up to Gilda during Griffon the Brush-off, and to lightning Dust and Spitfire during Wonderbolt Academy. And every time, she always stood up for what she thought was right, even when it meant giving up a bit of herself in the process.

 

Oh yeah, she also adopted a crippled orphan filly to be her sister. Who else in the mane 6 has ever done that?

When I first became a brony, Pinkie Pie was my favorite. I loved her songs, her sense of humor, and the way she made me laugh. As time progressed, however, I found more background ponies that I liked more. And, upon discovering that there was a pony incarnation of The Doctor, he quickly became my favorite. And that sticks to this day.

At first I loved Twilight and Rarity because they both appealed to me for their sensibilities in academics and aesthetics respectively, along with their tendency to have the most sarcastic lines out of the Mane Six. What can I say, I love girls with spunk. Over time it's shifted to Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash just because I appreciate their more lax attitudes since I realize that attitude is the biggest piece of the overall me. Not that I still don't appreciate my unicorn girls I just don't think they're as close to my true self as I used to.

Now, Rainbow Dash wasn't my favorite between when I first watched and now, I've cycled between a few other ponies. But I'm back to RD now, and I doubt it will change again.

Before I really got started with the show, I was sure Rainbow Dash would be my favorite. I've always been high on butt-kicking females, and Rainbow fit that bill and then some. I immediately liked her when I first started watching and she was my initial favorite, but it wasn't long before I became undecided.

 

It was tough finding a favorite during the course of season 1 because I liked them all so much, but by the time I finished the first 26 episodes I knew who my favorite was. Applejack had stolen my heart, and as the series has continued, I've only become even more enamored with her. And while the other five are just as amazing and lovable, I can only have one favorite, and Applejack isn't losing her spot.

Welp this is an interesting question for me... When I did begin with MLP:FiM I took an immediet interest in Pinkie Pie, however I also took a liking to Fluttershy because one was a chaotic party animal and the other was well, shy... As I've gone throughout the show I've found each pony interesting but these two were the competing ones, and they still are competing... I really will have a definite answer to "Who is best pony?" or "Who is best bg pony?" because to me there is always a tie. but in the end I see it as either Pinkie or Fluttershy...

You know, I'm not sure why ('tis a lie, I perfectly know why), but I have that strange temptation of standing up and doing a lil' victory dance each time someone says Rarity's his/hers favorite.

 

I feel something similar to communism in here. Each choice of mane 6 is equal when it comes to choosing a favorite, but Rarity is "equaller" than the others for me

Started out thinking I'd like Pinkie Pie the most... then I liked Rainbow Dash... then... BAM Fluttershy kinda took over in a big way.

When I started watching, I really got to like Applejack. A southern belle with her own farm? Yes, please. Later on, I began to notice Rarity more and more, and realized how deep, and how conflicted within herself she is as a character . She's the most flawed and yet most interesting of the Mane 6. After "Sisterhooves Social", I was a total Rarity fan, and thus I remain.

Nightmare Moon is the pony that enticed me to watch the show, I mean who wouldn't want to live in and eternal night. Fluttershy quickly became my favorite however since I can relate to her the most out of the mane 6. But Princess Luna has since replaced her since I relate to her on a deeper level. I still love Fluttershy the most out of the mane 6 though.

Hm, good question.

Well, when I first watched the show(the second half or so I believe of Suited For Success) and after coming to grips wiith the fact that I actually liked it, I honestly wasn't sure what character I liked more than the others at first, briefly anyway. But after realizing how interesting she was to me and how seemingly underrated she was compared to the likes of Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy, I decided to have Rarity be my favorite, she just really stood out to me at the time I guess.

To this day she is still my favorite of course, and I don't think there's a chance of that changing.
