My top 3 favorite gaming consoles would have to be the N64, Sega Dreamcast, & the Nintendo Ds.

These remain my favorite systems and I still play all of them to this day. There is nothing like playing mario kart 64 or perfect dark with your friends over. And did I mention that the systems above have to awesome multiplayer games :3

I don't really tie myself down to any single console. I play games, not consoles, so likewise I am a fan of games, not consoles. It doesn't matter what console a game is on, I will play it.

That said, I DO still have a favorite controller. Gamecube. Yes, I know, most consider it quite awkward but it's actually the most comfortable controller for me.

I used to be super into Xbox but then I started really getting into computer games...And now, I almost never play any computer games...I will on occasion play Gary's Mod or something but I am more into making music and Role Playing at the moment  ^_^

PS2 beats everything, huge game library and it's filled of incredible games, Devil May Cry 3, Kingdom Hearts series, Shadow of the Colossus, Persona 3 and 4, Ico, Killer7, Yakuza 1 and 2, Bloody Roar 4 and the list can go on and on.

SNES: Nintendo at their finest, top notch platformers, epic adventure games, classic RPGS, what more needs to be said?

GC: My Favorite Nintendo console, it definitely doesn't get enough love, Metroid's grand return, best futuristic racer with F-Zero GX, two criminally underappreciated Starfox games, two of the bets 3D Zeldas, Luigi's first game. Not to mention, 3rd party was also top notch, though also underrated; tons of Dreamcast classics, two epic remakes(Twin Snakes and REmake), Resident Evil at its peak, Tales of Symphonia which was one of the best RPGs at the time, Viewtiful Frikkin' Joe

PS1: Ah yes, the console that introduced me to all of my favorites

PS2: Had just about evrything and more. Also Snake Eater

PSP: Another very underrated platform. Seriously once you get Monster Hunter your pretty much set

I enjoy games spread across many platforms. It's hard for me to have a favorite gaming console. But, if I absolutely had to choose, my choice would have to land on...

...The SNES. Why? The fact I grew up with one might have something to do with it, but I'm going to try to take off the so-called "nostalgia goggles" to say why.

It is a solid piece of hardware. It isn't finicky when it comes to accepting a cartridge as long as everything is clean. It's controller is the most comfortable, natural controller out there if you ask me. There's a reason the vast majority of controllers made since it was released resemble SNES controller.

It had both amazing first-party games and third-party games. It is home to some of the greats, such as Earthbound, Megaman X, Chrono Trigger, Donkey Kong Country 1-3, Super Castlevania IV, Zombies Ate My Neighbors... I could go on. It has something for everybody. Many of the games on the system, especially the best games, have aged really well, when you consider the hardware limitations. For example, to this day, Megaman X still looks great. Kirby's Dream Land 3 still looks great.

It came out at a time where the technology was perfect. 2D sprite-based graphics were at their current peak. It did what it said it would do and did it well. Unlike systems like the PS1, which were trying to do something (In the PS1's case, 3D) before it was possible to do it right, it knew its limits. Well, by it, I mean developers. It's an amazing system, but it's not sentient. :P

And that is my reason for the SNES being my favorite gaming console. However, PC is best gaming platform, but it isn't a console.

PC. Better graphics, modding, better games (in my opinion) and I just find it a lot easier to play most games with a keyboard and a mouse as opposed to a controller. Of course, you gotta love the Atari 2600. Best console ever. Atari was when games were simple, it was just all about getting a high score. Now it's all about killstreaks and prestiges...

I'm guessing PC doesn't count? Or does it?

If it does count than that- even though I don't ever game on my PC. (Besides Minecraft sometimes)

If it doesn't count I will say PS3 then, much better than the older PlayStations (I own all of the PlayStations).

Definitely the Gamecube and SNES. The PS1 is a close third, because, guise, it has Parappa the Rapper on it. I think the Gamecube is my personal favorite because of the games;

- Luigi's Mansion

- Pikmin 1 and 2 (a mi me gusta Pikmin y Pikmin 2)

- Mario Kart Double Dash

- Super Mario Sunshine

- Super Smash Bros. Melee

- Metroid PRime

- Pokemon Channel (I adored this game when I was little, and I still have it)

- Animal Crossing

- Legend of Zelda Wind Waker

- Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life and Magical Melody

Look at all the fun I just listed. Thinking about these games and the memories wells me up with so much joy.

And then, the SNES had'

- Super Mario World

- Earthbound

- Chrono Trigger

- Super Mario RPG

- Super Mario All-Stars

- Donkey Kong Country 1, 2, and 3

- Star Fox

- Super Metroid

- Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island

Definitely the PC! It's pretty much the only thing I'd ever game on now! I do still game on the older systems and such though, for nostalgia sake.

I do prefer the PC over any other system, though! <3 Especially for the multiplayer games.

Really? I guess I've never asked around, but I've always thought of the Gamecube controller to be the pinnacle of controller comfortableness. The only complaint I ever had about it, was my index fingers sometimes cramping up when using the "L" and "R" buttons; but every other game console controller I've used, i could complain much more about. (Case in point, PS1/PS2 controllers; What the hell?)

It may come as no surprise then, the the Gamecube is also my top console as well. Nearly all of my favorite games were native to that system, or at least had a version of them on it. The physical design of the console strikes me well. (Why has no previous or present console include a handle? Seriously.) As does the (though primitive by today's standards) built in-menu and startup screen.

I'll always love my first (N64) and I have in recent years discovered wonderful retro-gaming as well. (NES, SNES, Genesis, etc.) But the Gamecube edges them all out to come out on top for myself.

Theoretically, PC.  A PC has the potential to do everything any given video game console can do and then some.  I mean, game consoles basically are computers, just stripped of most or all things that aren't related to running games.

But ignoring emulation and going by game selection (because what else would you go on?), easily Super Nintendo.  Little doubt, if any, in my mind that the SNES had the greatest library of games in video game history.

My most favorite console is the Nintendo 64.

Still have it today and still play it whenever I feel nostalgic.

Also sometimes it's great to to stop playing the same first-person shooter genre (seriously there are more first person shooters out there then I can account for).

I'm going to say the Nintendo 3DS. Perfect for RPGs, backwards compatibility, a solid collection of legacy content and customisability. Got mine on launch day and I still use it.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

Used to be a toss-up between the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Playstation 2 for me. After all, the NES was where so many of my favorite game franchises had their beginnings and was the time where challenge in video games reigned supreme and the Playstation 2 is home to some of my favorite games of all time in addition to being backwards compatible with all the games from Playstation 1, the first console that really got me into playing games. Nowadays though, my favorite console is the Playstation Portable. Absolute underrated gem that not only fixed everything I didn't like about the Nintendo DS, but also got me more into portable consoles in general by finally allowing me to play the kind of games I only thought I'd ever play on a home console on the go.

Despite using this for majority of my gaming purposes I'm excluding the PC.

Personally I'd have to give this to the Xbox One, it may not have the same variety of games as PC but still does a damn fine job at what it does. Plus it can crossplatform with PC on some games allowing me to play with my friends while playing on stronger hardware.

As for nostalgic purposes I'd have to give it to the Xbox 360 and GameCube. Xbox 360 for being my first online console experience, I met a lot of good friends I'm still close with today. Though despite being rendered completely obsolete by the Xbox One I still keep my Arcade Model Xbox 360 as a memento. And the GameCube was my favorite childhood console next to the N64. I had lots of fond memories hosting Smash 2 (Melee) tournaments when we had our yearly family reunions. I no longer have my GameCube, but I still hold onto my first GameCube controller also as a memento.

SNES, 100% of the way. Great games, great third party line up, excellent controller, games that aged well.

Late N64 and GCN are my favorite systems. Nintendo was at their peak during this time. The games were just so good. The Wii U and 3DS generation was pretty good for Nintendo as well. The problem is, while there are superb games like BotW and Animal Crossing New Leaf, there are also really bad games like the 3DS and Wii U Paper Marios and it makes me sad.
