Will rainbow dash ever join the wonderbolts?

In all seriousness, I think it would be because she needs to stay in ponyville, rather than running off to go to canterlot. Also maybe it would be unfair for her to be one? Maybe it's because of her ability to do a rainboon, that scares them, and makes them think she would outshine them?

Rainbow Dash lacks the discipline and the maturity required to join the Wonderbolts. She has the raw talent and the energy, but is too erratic. If you notice the personas of the Wonderbolts, they're exceptionally calm and composed with a very level head. Rainbow Dash isn't like that.

 

When all is said and done though, the maturity Rainbow Dash demonstrated in Hurricane Fluttershy was remarkable, and really showed her development. She'll be ready at some stage - maybe an apprentice for the time being?

I don't think Rainbow would enjoy being a Wonderbolt if she did get the chance. She relishes individual attention; the Bolts are a team. She wants to be a hero and make a difference in Equestria; the Bolts are just stunt performers. Most of all, she loves her friends and would hate to leave them, no matter how much they encouraged her to follow her dream.

 

I think there definitely should be an episode where she's accepted into the Wonderbolts, but chooses friendship over fame. She already did it in Episode 2; doing it again would bring her character full circle.

Not until the last episode, when questions like his come up one must go back to Gilligans Island and how they couldn't get off the island or the series would be over. Much the same for RD and the Wonderbolts, if she does get in she would need to be away to train and to do shows.

She'd have to leave the cast for extensive periods of time if this were to happen, so I'd really doubt her doing anything like this anytime soon. Perhaps in the not-so-distant future.  But certainly not now.

Id think she would eventually join, but id imagine her as something along the lines of a substitute or a more non-active but still full-fledged member, just so she can still spend time with her bpff's or maybe thats just what im hoping for, i see the wonderbolt lifestyle being very busy.

The idea of one member of the mane 6 becoming much more powerful than the rest just doesn't go with the main theme of the show. But since Twilight might actually become an alicorn, I suppose that opens up the possibility for Rainbow Dash and others to pursue their carriers as well.

Really, the way I see it, the episodes are setting up for big things in the next season, I bet you everypony is going to have big opportunities this season and we'll see how it all pans out and maybe even the aftermath in later seasons, who knows, maybe Scoots will be the RD successor in her Wonderbolt career at the end! Heh...

 

So, yeah, I bet she will, not now, but when things just start to get mellow... Bam, RD is a Wonderbolt!

Everyone's pretty much said it already. Yes, I too can see her joining the Wonderbolts, just not now, or even in the near future.

 

RD just showed where her first and foremost loyalties lied, with her friends. She'd never do anything that would compromise her relationship with her friends. She is the element of loyalty, after all.

 

To be honest Wonderbolt Academy left me with more questions and fewer answers than when before I watched it.

probably when the crusaders get their cutie marks, then again, it's probable that they might let her join once and it doesn't quite work out or something, or maybe they do let her join for a show and they say "maybe one day..."

also it appears the next episode is called "the wonderbolts academy" so i think that maybe we're getting closer to finding out!

There are a lot of possible scenarios for this:

 

-Spending time with friends vs spending time performing actually works out, and Dash stays a Wonderbolt.

 

-Wonderbolts training and/or performing takes her almost completely away from her friends, so she must choose between the two. Dash will most likely choose her friends and not become/stay a Wonderbolt.

 

-Another unforeseeable obstacle gets in the way of Dash becoming/being a Wonderbolt, and she doesn't become/stay one.

 

-Dash doesn't become a Woderbolt till the series finale, so the conflict with being a Wonderbolt vs friends isn't addressed (I hope they don't choose this one to be honest).

 

It'll be interesting to see what direction they choose to take with this. I personally prefer Dash having to choose and remaining loyal to her friends.

Yes, it is a possibility, When the time comes, Rainbow Dash will probably become a Wonderbolt and will achieve her dreams, so will the CMC and the other 5 ponies, I can possibly see Twilight Sparkle becoming an alicorn at some point, and the CMC' getting their cutie marks, Fluttershy could run a vets? Applejack could renovate Sweet Apple Acres and fix Granny Smith's hip, Rarity will probably become a huge fashion designer  and Pinkie Pie will take over Sugar Cube Corner when the time comes.
