Saddest scenes in My Little Pony

The saddest scene for me has to be Rainbow Dash's song, "I'll Fly" in Tanks For The Memories. If you think about it, RD at that point is deep in denial, and doesn't even seem to notice Tank is asleep the entire time. It's actually really sad to see, and her line "I'll change it all, it's only the weather" doesn't mean much in Equestria, but in context with our world it becomes quite profound and shows her deep affection and loyalty for her pet. That whole episode stood out to me as particularly powerful, but that song was the saddest of it.

Considering how incredibly sensitive I am, there are so many scenes that have made me sad, but only one has actually legit made me cry for any prolong period of time.

 

Tanks for the Memories, the scene being:

 

when Rainbow breaks down. That part got to me. It's all the of the little things about it. The sad faces she was making before it, the grief stages we see her go through before it, the build up, and just the simple fact that it was Rainbow crying. On top of this, it is the idea behind it, leaving a friend or pet behind, that just fuels the feels. It was the only time I have ever felt reluctant to watch an episode more than once in a short period of time. The whole episode has a sad vibe because it builds up to that point and the message behind the whole episode makes it even more saddening but that's a part of the genius in it.

 

 

Other than that,

Fluttershy Crying in Hurricane Fluttershy

Everything right before and during Pinkie's Lament

 

Those together I my top 3 saddest in the show.

The saddest scenes to me would have to be Rainbow breaking down in "Tanks for the Memories."  We don't really see Rainbow cry about things that get her down, but this episode really hit home. She tries so hard to make sure that Tank wouldn't have to go into hibernation and when her friends try to cheer her up and tell her the truth and seeing Rainbow cry really got to me. Seeing the other mane 6 cry alongside Rainbow only added on to roller coaster of emotions going through that scene. I could also relate with Rainbow Dash because I had to say goodbye to friends who moved away or pets that I had to give away. I also thought that Scootaloo flying in "Bloom and Gloom" was a sad scene. It may not seem sad, but I thought it was very emotional in a way. Seeing Scootaloo flying was great to see, but it was only in the dream world and that was sad because that's the only place where flying is possible to her for the time being. Hopefully someday soon she will be able to fly outside of her dreams.

For me...it is when Golden Oak Library is destroyed.

It's sad to see someone(or somepony) else's home get destroyed,especially when there are memories about/in it. ;-;

Seeing Twilight's house getting destroyed was pretty sad but seeing Celestia having to be banish her own sister felt kind of sad too. Celestia did resort to using them a bit too quickly but still must have hurt her a lot when she had to do it.

I was completely sad when Moondancer broke down in Amending Fences. I also thought "The Pony I Want To Be" was the saddest mlp song yet.

When the Golden Oak got blown up. It's not only sad from the character's perspective, but since it was replaced with *another* toyset from Hasbro, it's sad from a viewer perspective as well.

That part really gets to me. Diamond Tiara was losing herself in her uncertainty. She felt like her whole life was falling in and she saw no way out. She longed to make a change and wanted it with all her heart. She just didn't know how. Call me crazy, but the CMC were sort of her ghosts of Christmas, and helped guide DT to an almost Ebeneezer Scrooge-like life changing epiphany.

I think it would make a great episode if she came to the CMC and asked them to try and help her mother make some actual real friends in the community. It would be epic if she somehow became buddies with Granny Smith.

Alright, I have several.

 

1. The ending of Sleepless in Ponyville always gets me. I know the ending is more heartwarming than sad, but it's the brief sad moment when Scootaloo admits everything and reveals her true feelings, then all the sisterly things happen. Flight to the Finish was pretty sad too, but it didn't have as much as an impact on me like Sleepless did.

 

2. Moondancer's breakdown in Amending Fences.

 

3. Big Mac at the end of Brotherhooves Social.

 

4. When Celestia "dies" in Princess Twilight Sparkle Part 2.

 

5. DT's song in Crusaders of the Lost Mark.

 

6. "I'll Fly" was pretty sad, along with a few other small parts from Tanks for the Memories.

 

I'm sensing a bit of a pattern in the first 3. All 3 of them have something to do with the character talking to someone else about how they've been feeling and they're all long monologues. Wow.

I've Got to Find a Way song from Magical Mystery Cure. It was heartbreaking to see those ponies basically failing at life. If I wasn't so attached to ponies, that song fixed that
