Did Friendship is Magic teach you any life lessons?

As a matter of fact it did.

It told me, you can't have an opinion, on whether you like something or not, or else everyone will flip shit at you.

It did teach me some things, yes.

It for one, inspired me to be more involved in communities and seek friendship, although the seek friendship part has only succeeded online, especially through these forums, the offline bit, well still nothing... so basically, it learned me that seeking friendship may seem like a hard thing, but once you succeed in finding it, it is an awesome thing to have.

On the radio, on TV, in movies, blablabla you always hear "influential" figures try and tell others "express yourself" and "don't be afraid to shine" and all that good stuff. THey're right, but nobody ever takes them seriously, because the ajority of them are complete, money hogging dumbasses. MLP (and a few close friends) actually got the point out to me, helped me really understand what it is to enjoy what you really like. MLP opened up a whole new world for me. ABSOLUTELY indirectly taught me about open mindedness, shew me that violence, swearing, and buttsecks isn't necessary for something not to suck. Sweet Celestia, if I were to tell you guys everything that I learned here, I'd have to expand the internet's capacity by a few terrabytes.

For me, MLP taught me to get the heck out of my nutshell and go try out new things, even if you feel nervous about the outcome. It's normal to take any risks. Back then I never wanted to try out anything, because I was just scared. Now as the days go by, I want to do anything, no matter how crazy. Hurricane Fluttershy was the key episode that taught me this exclusively.

In addition to that, aside from coming out of my nutshell, it also taught me to not be afraid to talk to people, whether online or offline. Be more involved in stuff, and be a very good friend to others.

Honestly? It taught me how to make friends again, and that other people aren't so bad.
I shut myself off from the world, aside from a select few friends for a long time.

Ponies have opened me up again, I'm actually posting, and doing stuff.

It's made me a generally happier person than I used to be.

It showed me that the world could be a great place, but it's just a pointless dream.

And also got me indirectly into music, which is always nice.

That reminds me, My Little Pony taught me that it's a DAMN GOOD relief to listen to music made by fans of a series rather than that crap on the radio.

Very true. Someone stole the antenna off of my car for reasons that are beyond my comprehension, its no real loss I never listen to the radio anyway pony music all the way :D

Well, the show taught me to be more open minded of other fandoms.

For example, before I became a brony, I looked upon the furry fandom with disgust (for reasons I can't actually remember, probably something to do with R34). Now, I realize they are just people who like different things, like us. Unless you're hurting someone, being different isn't necessarily a bad thing and doesn't make you a bad person.

A lesson many bronies would do well to learn. We preach love and tolerance, but yet many of us scorn the more extreme members of the fandom, the main example being cloppers. What have they done to you? Seriously, hating on cloppers makes you just as bad as brony-haters themselves.

I came across a clopper online a few days ago. Although I don't enjoy what they do I still treat them with respect. He was actaully really helpful since I was asking him about tips for getting started with vector graphics.

The show taught me that you can't just make friends and use them for your own benefit. When you make a friend, you make a committment to be there for them and they'll do likewise. Otherwise, your just some sad-ass deadbeat who lives life by taking all and never giving back. Thats how I was then, and I was disgusted at myself for being so greedy. Thank you MLP for showing me the way.

MLP itself didn't really teach me something in terms of friendship as most of the lessons the show itself trys to teach are pretty standard knowledge if you are not only living in your room.

But it teached me different things. For example that a girls show can be made so well that it has a great fanbase, interesting characters and awesome animations while also maintaining good plots which you can follow easily.

Also it teached me other social lessions as I moved around in the community of bronies. But I would rather not talk about that because most of those lessons were rather bad.

1. Never judge a book by its cover, and always stay open minded.

2. Dont make fun of other people for what they do, if it makes them happy, let em be.

3. Be happy of who you are and what you do, dont let others make you feel down

4. I dont know why, but after I started watching I felt.... More friendly? I dont know why.

Ah... i just kidding.

Actually MLP open my mind a bit to a people. I am still close to them, and prefer to spend time alone, but for now i am at least trying to speak with people on the web. (A time ago i used to spoke only with family and few close friends.)

Well I been in the furry fandom for the better part of 10 + years now, which is one of the reason why I find  the G4 of mlp to be entertaning. I not sure I be a fan of mlp if I wasn't a huge of of fur's, lionKing, balto and the likes

Photo Finish,that's her name.

Makin' every-pony pretty is her number one game.

She do what she do, to make you more than you.

No-pony gonna care if what we share is true.

Cause lies are beautiful, the truth is not.

Come on little mare, you better shake that plot.

You know that's what they really all came to see.

I learned a valuable lesson from the "Friend in Deed" episode.  I had issues with expecting all friendships to be the same, and especially expecting everyone to treat me the same as all of their other friends.  I would get jealous if I was not invited to an event, or if someone didn't seem to be as "close" to me as they were to other friends.  But Pinkie Pie taught me that all friendships are different, and that is okay.

The show thought me a lot, I was a rather closed person and I had difficulty getting to know other people. But now I'm just the entire opposite of that. Well, I don't know if it's all because of the show or just me getting better at social stuff *shrugs* but it was a huge eye opener. At first I was like "heck I'm not watching that stuff" but yeah... MLP fully ponyfied me
