I'll remain a brony forever. Even if everypony leaves the fandom, I will remain and be a weirdo all on my own if I must.

LRP's opinions are subject to change without notice. Fees and penalties still apply.

Most bronies are teens and young adults, so eventaully they'll be consumed by real life and it'll just be a crazy thing you did when you were young.

This doesn't and will not ever happen to me. I find real life to be too boring and mundane to be consumed by, my mind's never really on it anyway (it's always off in the clouds), and will always have the magic of a child inside of me no matter how old I am. To submit to it is to become boring and I'll probably never think it was just a silly thing I did when I was young because as I've said in another thread, I never really lose interest of anything. I just have varying levels depending on how much I'm thinking about it. (Not to say I'm delusional though, and don't live in reality, but I am not like that.)

But then again, we're talking about the majority... I agree with your assessment that it'll last a year or two after the good episodes. (Although I think it'll end after around 3 or 4 seasons, since most cartoons don't last that long. So it'll end before it starts to get bad.) There will still be huge fans out there, they'll just become a smaller niche. It's sort of like what happened to Pokémon - used to be insanely popular amongst the public until it fizzled out but still has a lot of fans out there, they just aren't as notable and nobody really pays attention to them anymore. I think it'll be like that. It'll just be more down-toned than now.

I agree with Derpy. It won't last forever, and since it's meant as a friendly kids show they will have a much smaller range of choices compared to show like The Simpsons, which is a show meant for all ages, which enables them to use violence, romance, drama, etc.

But i'm happy as long as it's still there :D

(EDIT) A movie would most likely give it a major push when needed :P

I lost the bet, when I thought it would die down during the break/beginning of season 2

I say somewhere around season 3...

but perhaps the show will get lucky and have a hug cult following when it ends instead of a expected "drop off dead" kind of fall

okay ponies, give me all your treasure.

I'm pretty sure it will last a couple of years after the show is cancelled, I say ten at most.

I really hope to become a middle school english teacher when I get older, so I plan on incorporating MLP into some of my lessons. Or if that generation hates it, I'll use it to punish them. Either way I'm gonna make them watch it. If my future plan fails and I don't become a teacher it will probably go to the back of my mind till someone says something that brings all the memories back and I'll look for the almost nonexistent brony community left and try to weasel my way back int.

Id like to say this fandom will go on forever, but i honesty dont know.

I dont think i ,personaly, will lose intrest in the fandom even if the show starts becoming crap. Ive started to realise that it cant just be the show thats making this whole thing run, we only get 21minutes a week and then theres breaks, season changes... This fandoms started to become about much more than the show, so i dont think that has a chance of killing it unless the creators do something monumentaly stupid, or it ends compeletly. I dont think ill lose intrest over time either, or that would have happend by now im sure. Ive never reamined this intrested in something for this long other than One Peice, and thats got hundreds of episodes, so go figure. I guess thats because, unlike anyother fanbase, MLP's has managed to make me the happiest ive been in a long, long time :)

If the fandom dies for whatever reason, 30 years later some other person might come along and make a magical reboot, and itll all start over again...

I cant really put a time on it. Who knows? Hopefully not for a while yet. Not this year, thats for definite. This is going to be the year of freindship afterall  !

I'll never abandon my ponies.

I still loved and openly played pokemon even when the craze at my school ended,

and even when other constantly teased me about it.

I'm attach to these ponies as I thinking they represent happiness in my childhood, and my inner child strives to be happy.

You're right in staying real life dose consume you, but that'd drive anypony insane.

We need an outlet.

And for me, that's ponies.

I would say long after the show ends, but the fanbase would probably shrink. Heck there are sill tons of Star Wars and Star Trek fans and these fanbases have been around for ages. I would have to say you don't have to worry about the bronies going anywhere any time soon.

I'm too childish, I doubt I'll ever mature, and like LRP I'll be a weirdo who watches MLP FIM if I have to, I'll just watch ponies Forever and ever, even If I have to repeat each episode for the hundred time, and 2 (that wouldn't be fun, would it?) 4 hundred times for my favorites

I agree with this completely. Pokémon is something I've played/watched since I was a filly. (I'm 18 now, my birthday is at the end of this month) Tis true aswell, even if the fandom dies out I will still pour my heart into ponies. There are 4 things important in my life at the moment. Video Games, Music, Anime, and Ponies.

You said pretty much what I was going to.

But, yeah. Even when the show dies off, bronies will still be around. A show ending doesn't neccesarily kill off the fanbase. Fire may go out but the embers will burn for a long time.

However, downside to that is, we'll also have hipsters who run around wearing ratty MLP shirts and saying "I was a remnant of the MLP fandom before it was cool".

I've actually planned on becoming a politician, and then once retiring going into some sort of educational help, and I was totally thinking the same thing, to incorporate ponies, and other things of our time, into lessons.

We must also take into account future history. Europe is desperately failing, and if things take a turn for the worse ponies might get wiped out or ignored in the resulting madness.

Of course, I also never plan on forgetting ponies, but they'll definetly, as Zero said, fall out of the spotlight. Because honestly, it WILL get boring after a while. The MLP fandom is already breaching the corners of the fandom box and creating obscure art, music and fanfics; how long till we begin to lose ideas?

It WILL die down.

No fandom can constantly make new material forever, but that doesn't necessarily mean the fandom will die down because of it.

I think that if this fandom dies, it will die on a fuck up on Hasbro's part. them stopping production, or loosing voice actors, etc.

I wish it would be around forever, but obviously that won't happen. I'm sure it'll last past the show's last season or if the show starts sucking it'll latch on to the Golden Age. But aside from that, how long? Most bronies are teens and young adults, so eventaully they'll be consumed by real life and it'll just be a crazy thing you did when you were young.

I think it'll last at the very most one, MAYBE two years after the last good season.

You, my friend, are wrong. Once a brony, always a brony. When you're 50, tell me you wont smile at the thought of once obsessing over a sow for 8 year old girls? I'm sure most of us will move on after gIV, but we wont forget the times we had because of them.

Ahahha, heavens no. See, I will always love having been a brony. But what you said is exactly what i was thinking, I must've worded it wrnog.

Regardless of what happens to the fandom as a whole, I hope to see this community live for years to come. People will come and people will go, but with luck the overall spirit of good will and friendship that this place has come to have will survive and persist.

Considering that there is going to be a season 3 and maybe even a 4th, the fandom should live on for 5 or 6 more years from now. Though at some point, maybe after 3 years, more and more people will start to lose interest in the whole pony thing. At the end many people will leave the fandom mainly because they will simplly become bored and/or lose motivation, thus leaving the most devoted and loyal fans.

For one, even when I grow up and the fandom will be long gone, I will always be a brony in my heart and no one will ever change that.
