The ponies are not anthropomorphic, they don't have hands, cannot walk on 2 legs and don't look like humans at all. They're just cartoony. Also, bronies aren't furries by definition. They just like the show, that's it.

Only a small portion are probably into the whole R34 thing. The people you see on the web, news or other articles? That's a very small portion. Plus you'll see it's usually the same people in many of the images just during different times and different get ups.

I can see a small portion into the furry scene as well. I mean, they ARE animals in the end and the Furry community strives to make them Anthro. I've had Furry friends and they're not all crazy people that dress in costumes, but their gatherings tend to have them all the time.

Furry stuff, from what I have seen and my friends have shown, mostly has animals in human type formats (Anthro) that in an end result wind up with sexual perversion. I'm not saying that to upset anyone reading this, but that IS how all gatherings or groups serious into the Furry scene wind up in the end.

But Brony's being a Furry category? No, that's not right. If anything, we are more inclined to be grouped like the Trekkie Fans. THAT has more relative sects to the MLP fashion than does the Furry community. I can actually see the MLP series going well beyond the show soon with movies and internet cartoons. I mean they're probably already in line to make some comics and books based on the series geared towards all ages!

i dont think so, bronies and furries are not the same thing

as i understand it, furries are people who see them selfs as animals, bronies are people who like the cartoon show My Little Pony, and while some furries may be bronies, i dont see them as the same thing

I don't really like furries. No offense to anyone but I think that it is REALLY close to beastiality. Plus, not EVERYTHING looks good as a wolf.

This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner.

This is an automatically generated message, by the way.

Aureitas' post contains a chunk of what I intended to say, lol.

However, while I do think that some aspects of the fandom (OCs and such) do have some elements that the furry fandom has, that doesn't mean that all bronies are furries, and labeling them as such is false. It's like calling a cat a skunk because they both have hair.

Plus, most bronies don't want to associate with furries. Figure it's the hugely bad reputation furries have, and (not trying to insult, just stating the truth) the fact that a large percentage of the furry fandom is based around "yiff", where a much smaller part of the brony fandom is based around "clop".

I mean, even with safesearch, Google still brings up porn when you search "Furry" on Google images, whereas the only disgusting image "Brony" brings up is that godawful Lyra plushie. Kinda emphasizes the point there. :/

By Furry, they mean turning the pony model into an Anthromorphic figure that is more in line to the communities use.

These were the cleanest and only SFW images I could find doing a Google search.....sadly......

There are many similarities, however, furries tend to group around the idea of being an animal or acting more animal or doing things like animals.

However they group around a singular show, and most bronies don't have their own self made character. it is reasonably safe to assume that they are very different as well.

To be fair it may be in some sort of Twilight Zone in between, considering the animalistic portion but also the show portion. But I wouldn't call it a subclass of the furry fandom by any stretch of the imagination. I would much more say it is it's own unique and complex culture.

*Sigh*

because every furry is into fucking animals.

Please, do me a favor and brush up on your facts.

Yes, some are, but some aren't.

Anyway, bronies are not a subdivision of furries or anything silly like that.

I said close. I just have a bad impression of furries because of my ginger friend. UHG, I hope all furries aren't like him.

I wouldn't consider them the same.

If you are defining "furry" as anyone who likes a character(s) with human-like features, then bronies can be considered furries.

But that's not a good way of defining it. That would imply fans of Scooby Doo, Pound Puppies, etc. are also furries.

The main difference can be found in what furries are actually into. It's not simply characters that are animals and have some human features. It's characters that are essentially human-animals.

There's plenty of examples to look at regarding this.

Bronies =/= furries.

That's like saying members of the Sonic fandom are also Furries.

What it boils down to are they are two separate fandoms. Furries love anthropomorphic animals (and possibly by relation, ponies. They don't have to stand up on two legs to be anthropomorphic). And Bronies love the show My Little Pony. Not because they're ponies, because the show is excellent.

And let me give you all the definition of anthropomorphic before someone decides to yell at me "but u r rong i will not check facts cos u r wrong i kno it" in regards to ponies being anthropomorphic animals.

Anthropomorhpic

Adjective:

  • Relating to or characterized by anthropomorphism.
  • Having human characteristics.

Ponies wear clothes, speak their own language, have a sentient mind, and an entire societal, economical, and governmental structure. They are anthropomorphic.

@@Shade, I would argue that there are likely to be a lot of in the closet cloppers and furries within this community, but because they have a bad name they won't speak up about it.

@, a singular bad experience should not skew the entire view of a group, I have met people of different social groups which weren't amicable, yet I won't go so far as to brand the entire group. knowledge is power, and it is sometimes good to know if at all that a person is an outlier or standard.

Yes but saying the show itself features anthropomorphic is false. That's what the first post seemed to be saying.

there are tons of furry bronies I mean literally tons. I have seen many pictures of human ponies on google images and most of them...

I would like to unsee. HOWEVER this is not an implication that all furries are R34 based. I openly accept all members of all fandoms...

With the exception of a select few.

yyyyyeaaaaaah...no

The ponies aren't technically anthro. they're ponies, plain and simple.

Bronies are just people who like a show. They like the show because the show is good. Not because it has strangely built talking equines.

That is all.

Oh shit... on second thought....Imma leave now.

it not really conncected, there are furry bronies

technicly, cloppers have some kinds

the 'builted' from:

clopping to ponnys (sorry to say, but i think that technicly, its kind of zoophilia :/)

clopping to half pony (human with a fur and tail and stuff, this is technicly furry)

and clopping to humans pony (in the human sociaty it concerned as 'normal sexuality')

most of the cloppers probbably 'builted' from a mix of those

btw, lots of cloppers are 'zoophile' and 'furry' only for ponys, and disguised from non pony not human ero pics

(why the heck do i make it sound so sireouse?!)

hope i helped
