I once played it and I managed to find diamond quite fast and was able to mine it out. Then I fell down a lava pit . Never played Minecraft after that (And the fact that the game lags a lot for me)

 

It is a good game, but nowhere near as good as people say it is. Actually, it has sucked since beta 1.2.2.

Closest thing I have to a controversial gaming opinion is, while a lot of people go on about how, with Square Enix, "Enix is dragging down Square!", I actually see it as "Square is dragging down Enix!"

 

The Final Fantasy series, from what I see of it's current incarnations, is this weird thing trying to be "fashionable", what with having "bishie" characters, clothing overflowing with buttons, buckles and straps, and way too many sequels.

 

While the Dragon Quest series isn't all angsty and emo-ish, has character designs that don't look like they were ripped out of an S&M magazine, and an art style that doesn't look "bishie" or whatever, and, in my opinion, better gameplay. Pretty much, a lot of the advancements to the genre started in the Dragon Quest series, then everybody else jumps on board, a bandwagon forms, yadda yadda yadda.

Keep in mind this is my opinion.

 

But with the latest Dragon Quest game coming out, from what I've heard of it, it's going to be some MMO thing. Uhm, what? Just, what? Only has a couple offline hours of gameplay? Requires a subscription fee? You don't just go and take one of the most cherished series in the history of gaming and take a dump on it like that.

I'm currently playing the Japanese version, however I hear there is a patch that translates parts of it in English. I wasn't able to get that to work sadly

Angry birds....its unoriginal, over priced, boring, repetitive, (to mainstream), and sucks... I could just go online and play something like Crush the Castle (which I think has a more relistic 'story line') and I could play it for free (altho it still gets boring).

They should put Yoshitake Amano back in charge of character designs.

 

I think at this point the majority of the fanbase is so entranced with Nomura's designs that Amano is pretty much required to take inspirational queues from him. And I wasn't a big fan of the Amano/Nomura combination thing in Dissidia, so I am very weary of such a change.

 

I will say that despite liking a lot of both their designs, I would like to see Sqenix bring in a new character designer, just to see how that would work out.

Well, i'm ready for some discussion.

Here are my opinions.

 

- Activision sucks, they only ruin games.

- I hate God of War, repetitive and not fun gameplay, just a bunch of square plus triangle spamming in the whole game.

- I dislike turn based RPG's, i try to get into them but i can't, i just get bored after an hour or two, i really want to finish FFVII but holy fuck it just bores me.

- I dislike Minecraft since Adventure Update, i really don't want to argue on this one because i know that Adventure Update made Minecraft better and more interesting, but it was just boring for me.

- I don't like Crash Bash.

- I expect nothing from the new DMC game.

- New Resident Evil games suck (includes RE4, but excludes Code Veronica)

- I hate PS3

Mario was a good series up to the Wii. All the NES, SNES, and 64, etc, were great, instant classic, but the wii's were just baaddd.

There are no longer any fun multiplayer console games out that I know about.

COD is to repetive to be any fun.

Battlefield is only fun with friends.

Any others I just don't play for reasons I don't even know.

Halo gets again repetitive.

 

Pokemon is a fun game, but gets old after a while. If only they could make a better game out of it than just add a few new pokemon and a new land. And I do beleive that Pokemon White/Black 2 are going to be terrible.

Diablo 3 sucks compared to Diablo 2.

 

If only Diablo 3 would of had a single player and LAN option.. Someone could have made a mod and make something more interesting with the game.. Diablo 2 has some amazing mods and i still play them.

 

Which raises my point. Give players the tools to create their own content Most games can benefit from it, but tons of games are unable to use this to its full potential *cough*mmo games*cough*

My opinion is probably not that controversial, but i do not see it being mentioned too often.

I would have never touched Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne if it wasn't for custom maps made by players. It was well worth it even though i never played the "actual game" that Warcraft III is supposed to be. And i wonder how many people bought ARMA 2 recently for certain zombie mod, hmm?

 

I pretty much dislike developers that completely ignore this possibility.

 

Edit: I just realized how my opinion basically translates to "I dislike console game developers"

Skyrim is an over-rated game mostly played by newfags trying to act like they know what an RPG is. Skyrim is shallow, unoriginal (look st all the other midieval-esque RPGs) and the dungeons all suck and are exactly the same.

-Gamecube controllers are uncomfortable and break easily

-I enjoy games that I don't have fun while playing

-God of War I was good, but the sequels were completely unnecessary.

-Team Fortress 2 is fun, but it would be better with less variety.

-Batman Arkham Asylum should have been a standalone game

-Motion controls are enough to ruin a game

-Micromanaging inventory in RPG's is fun

-Handhelds are annoying and the games should be available on consoles outside of emulators

-Luigi's Mansion is the best horror game ever made

-Multiplayer games should be created on their own, rather than stitched on to a singleplayer game

-Every Resident Evil game other than 4 was terrible

-Game trailers are useless hype

-The Assassin's Creed series could have ended two games ago

-Grand Theft Auto isn't very fun

-Portal 2 was an unnecessary sequel
