I really hope this is as cool as I think it looks. I was kind of on the fence about this whole Equestria Girls thing (I want to know what happens, but I'm not sure if I'll like it). But this has somewhat restored my faith in the movie since, I really hope, the biggest conflict won't be "I can't find a date to the prom".

Okay, whoever put the trailer together in the first place needs to be kicked. If some of those images had flashed by in the trailer, I would have been a lot more interested in seeing this movie in the first place. Demons? Zombies? What's going on?

Ya know....This does not look bad at all. I like how it is apparently linking this back to the ponies in some way so everyone can stop worrying about what will happen to Twilight. Truly, I think this film will end on a good note, even though it is not direct canon to the original series.

 

Being someone who just isn't very interested in EqG, I will admit that I am now a bit more intrigued now. I will still wait until season 4 to see it, but honestly, I am becoming more fond of this movie as I learn more about it. Again, as long as it does not become it's own series, which I highly doubt at this point. 

 

Also, if Twilight does gain a love interest down the line, that would actually be quite neat.

Oh, jeez. I am torn on this. On the one hand, I was hoping for an antagonist more threatening than "Sunset is a jerk". On the other hand, I was also hoping for a resolution that wasn't centered around blasting something with magic. I'm really going to be dissatisfied if the only obstacle to using the Elements is Twilight getting her mitts on the crown.

 

I also really don't like seeing Luna and Celestia there. Kind of the whole reason of it being Twilight going it alone is that this is something that only she can do, or the mirror only holds two, or her mystical connection to the crown or something. If they can come through and help, they should've been there helping all along or - more thematically appropriately - sent her friends. I feel like some fairly severe plot holes are going to be generated her, but I'll have to wait for it to come out to know which ones they are.

My theory is that the demon is all of Sunset Shimmer's evil given life by the element of magic and that is why you see her in one photo crying since she probably now feels remorseful.

I'm interested in seeing the Sunset girl becoming a demon. That just looks friggin awesome for anything in MLP. As girly as it sounded in the trailer with not much indication of anything new or spectacular I have to say these new released images and the trailer have really blown me away.

 

 

I was starting to think this would be like a high school musical thing but now it looks a lot more interesting.

 

 

I just hope the villain will do more than just stand around and gloat before getting hit by the rainbow of death.

JUST WHAT THE BUCK ARE THESE HUMAN VERSIONS?!?!  Trailer showed NO RD or Fluttershy with wings, nor Twilight for that matter, and none of them have any horns either, so when, I mean, WHEN would it make sense for Twilight to get her wings back but not her horn when she's in this human world (considering, oh IDK, she was only ALWAYS A UNICORN BEFORE SHE GOT HER WINGS!!!!!!!! )?!?!?!?!  Finally, I'm just gonna say it, but the human girls (I mean like, ALL OF THEM) look seriously anorexic, at least in their arms; those arms are bucking skinny as twigs!!!

If you look closly you can Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy have their wings as humans to. But I agree, I think having the demon/vampire thing in a little girls movie is gonna scare some, but it's gonna be awesome as a brony.

I don't buy it. This seems like an early draft or a pilot. Remember when images like this were floating around? But now, they've made them look

. I think you'll notice that in the leaked images, they have ears, wings, etc, whereas in the trailer, they've made them more human and less mystical. That the trailer has been released, I think that these are probably permanent changes, that the images are probably from an old draft and that things have changed since then.

It took me a while to, but look at the forth pitcure when they're standing like a heart. You can just barely see the outlining of Fluttershy's and Rainbow Dash's wings.

Seriously, this brings me back to the question I've been asking from the very beginning (and this is not saying that EQG will be bad): I get the incentive for an MLP movie, really, I do, but why, WHY Hasbro, do we need human versions?!?!  Everypony, I repeat, EVERYPONY already loves the ponies; who the buck was actually asking for human versions?!?!  The only incentive I can even think of is expanding their marketing/product line, but if that's Hasbro's only incentive (I mean, I seriously can't think of any other that would make sense in connection to the show/story/characters), I'm sorry, but really. that's not good enough.  The potential fiscal benefit does not outweigh the risk that this thing'll cave in on itself largely because of this convoluted, unnecessary new setting.

 

I guess my main point is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I still think nobody will best Discord for best villain, but rest assured I'm confident Sunset Shimmer will not be disappointing. I like her as a pony because she reminded me of Trixie doing all the magic tricks and the little skirmish she does with her. Also I love her demonic form. It just looks epic.

Remember the movie isn't Canon so I'm not sure Sunset Shimmer can't really fill the hole because she's not real per se to the actual series. Besides Discord's alignment can be questionable. He's not evil but does that really mean he's still not a villain? I don't know...
