What is Your Favorite Music Genre?

My favourite kind of music is mostly Dance/Electronic/Hardstyle.

 

But really, I can listen to any kind of music and enjoy it, somewhat depending on who made the song.

I listen to almost everything. I would have to say my favorite genre is Deathcore. Other genres I listen to: Metalcore, Melo Death, Death Metal, Grindcore, Sludge Metal, Post Hard Core, Hard Core, Thrash Metal, Punk, Garage Punk, Power Metal, Heavy Metal, Black Metal, Doom Metal, Progressive Metal, Progressive Rock, Math core, Gothic Metal, Gothic Rock, Orchestral, Symphonic Metal, Alternative Metal, Alternative Rock, Alternative, Industrial, Industrial Rock, Industrial Metal, Rap Metal, Nu Metal, Speed Metal, Stoner Metal, Grundge, Cello Metal (Oh gawd I love this stuff.) Rock, Pop, Emo, Indie, Hard Rock, Trance, Dubstep, Drumstep, Drum & Bass, Noise, House, Progressive House. I might be missing something; I just went looking through all my Pandora stations, seeing what bands there are in there.

I think my favorite genre of music would have to be symphonic metal, however I enjoy and listen to many different kinds of music. Some of my favorite bands are Nightwish, Delain, Nemesea, and Chevelle.

Classical music, particularly of the concert band variety.  I love Holst, Grainger, Reed, Whitacre, Maslanka, Mackey, Hazo, and a bunch of other band composers.

I also enjoy show tunes and the occasional pop song.

Hmm...I like a whole lot of stuff, but to me probably the best stuff would be the sort of ambient, chill and downtempo related stuff, as well as the older EDM stuff back around in the era of Daft Punk and Justice. On the more heavier side of things I love Progressive Metal and Sludge Metal the best, as well as Grindcore coming up there and Melodic Death Metal is also very much to my liking, I can even enjoy some Experimental music as well. I forgot to mention how much I love Industrial music, my favorite band at the moment is Nine Inch Nails, though I love some other Industrial music like Death Grips, Ministry, and Skinny Puppy.

Meh, I don't just pick one genre as my favorite. I listen to many genres: heavy metal, death metal, black metal, thrash metal, grindcore, doom metal, punk, grunge, alternative and even synthpop if you count Nine Inch Nails's first album.

Well I listen to mostly rock music. Mostly stuff like skillet and red and such with a bit of breaking Benjamin and a few others.

 

I like all kinds of music really for the most part. I listen to some country actually and being southern I can actually sing along to it mostly

I only don't really listen to rap and dubstep. Only rap I listen to is maybe like billionaire or Lighters and that's only because of the singing part not really the rap.

 

I rarely listen to dubstep.

My favorite bands are Yes, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, and Electric Light Orchestra. Yes, though is probably my favorite of those. Listening to some of their songs is like going on musical journeys. They also have such a cool, fantasy-like feeling to them. When I was big into Skyrim, I used to put on their albums, "Close to the Edge", "The Yes Album", "Tales From Topographic Oceans", and "Relayer", and just take in the depth of that world with that amazing music deepening the experience. If there are any other Yes fans here, give me a shout!

I spend most of my time listening to rock music, but deep down, I just like whatever sounds good. As long as the lyrics are positive (if it has lyrics) and the song has a good beat, I'll probably like it. I'm not crazy about hip-hop or rap, but I'd be lying if I said I never listened to it. Even country which gets a lot of hatred, can be pretty good. I probably just listen to it in honor of my father though.

 

Most of today's pop music does very little for me, and this "dubstep" is more like noise than music. Then again, so is most heavy metal. Not crazy about jazz either. I do like classical music, but who wouldn't?

My favorite genres of music would have to be Rock, Prog Rock, 80's Hair Metal, Metal, and Prog Metal. also Parody music a la Wierd Al Yankovic. Examples include my two favorites, Dream Theater and Shinedown, as well as others such as Rush, Motley Crue, Journey, Queen, and Avenged Sevenfold

I like most genres but I've always had a preference for rock. It was what I grew up with and it will always remain a part of me.

 

By the way, instead of rock n roll, I think you should just shorten it to rock. Rock n roll is a more specific term. Just a tip.

Have you heard the Scott Pilgrim soundtrack? In my opinion, it's a really good combination of the two. In fact, it's one of the main reasons why I love the movie.
