Who thinks Youtube is getting worse?

I have noticed terrible loading speeds with Youtube, and it is all buggy, and loads stupidly.

 

I think the hating on the recent designs is just ridiculous.

 

In 2012, there was a new design. Everyone hated it.

In 2013, there was a new design. Everyone missed the 2012 one.

Cause Youtube is getting worse and worse, and when we settle in, they change it again - I assume.

Personally, I don't really remember Youtube back in 2011, I didn't really use it.

but I agree with the layouts, they need to focus on making youtube smoother and more easy to run instead of changing how everything looks

As someone who uses Youtube a lot I like the new design. It slims everything down and is easier on the eyes. Most people using it already know how to get around the site and I think the reason for simplifying it down a bit is to accommodate for newer users.

Yeah kinda more videos demonized (okay I can understand that advertisers dun wanna advertise on certain videos but still). less of a community and more like a streaming platform, there are like more community features being added back in though like sorta status posts and like tik tok style videos which is fun but things have certainly changed a lot. I remember things like video replies and messaging between youtubers and customisation of profile background that kinda thing, it feels so professional now.

Honestly, this is just an objective fact at this point. I only use YouTube because there isn't really anywhere else to go to watch most if not all of what I watch on YouTube.

YouTube sucks. It was already bad enough, but commercials two or three times in the middle of a video?! Screw that.

I rarely even use it on my phone because the app isn't compatible with any adblock programs. I mostly just use it on my laptop so I actually can block ads on channels I don't particularly care about (if I really like the channel and they need monetization in order to keep making content, then I don't block ads). The ads were bad 5 years ago but they've only gotten worse. I'm so sick of videos that have several ads sprinkled throughout rather than just one at the beginning... basically, what @Dreambiscuit said above.  

And then there's the whole "content made for kids" fiasco from the past year. It really ticked me off when they started randomly flagging videos as "made for kids" and removing the comment section. I think Google could have done a much better job of handling COPPA. 

And, of course, YouTube is really bad about demonetizing channels for trivial reasons. That and the controversy over fair use, though the latter is more of a legal dilemma over what actually counts as fair use and what doesn't.

Youtube has been horrendous trash for a while now. Nothing but a cesspool of conformity, terrible content, child exploitation and who knows what else. Of course they want to milk this garbage for all it is worth by spamming ads whenever they possibly can now. The only saving grace is that beneath the mainstream layer of single brain celled vomit, you can still find great people that actually have passion and purpose. Too bad those are the people routinely screwed by the system in place. All YouTube wants you to do is concede, conform and consume.

Youtube is garbage!  I do not even bother documenting the terrible changes they keep making anymore because I have long accepted the fact they will never change for the better!  They now straight up ban people who voice opinions they disagree with without even giving them strikes or warnings first because "they are not obligated to host anyone's video". Yeah, like videos recommending people to take lots of Vitamin C.  Getting replaced by an alternative is a fate too good for them.

I don't really mind the layout changes and such, it's pretty normal for a website to update their look every now and then. The reasons I voted Yes is 1) because of the increase in ads, which has slowly but surely grown to a very annoying amount. But even that I can forgive, because they, like every other business, are out to make money. I get it.

But the second reason and more important reason is the COPPA (i think that's how it's spelled) thing. I understand making YouTube safer for kids, but the algorithm that has implemented it is horrible! I have seen many videos marked as YouTube Kids that *should not* be listed for kids. Above all, I cannot believe that it deletes the entire comment section of marked videos! For some videos, that's over ten years of people's reactions, jokes, and of course, stupid shit, that has been erased! As someone who really values how comment sections and other such things archive people's words, that is nonsensical to me, and I really don't approve.

Just think about how it disproportionately impacts the archives of our fandom's history. Many important songs and fanworks in the brony fandom have been marked for kids on YouTube, deleting the resulting discourse (used here not as a term for arguing, but just as a term for conversation or remarks) between fans in the comments. Ugh, I could go on, but that's an essay for another day.

Whether it's on my phone or on streaming TV, what's really annoying at the fact that they start putting ads in the middle of the video, sometimes cutting off dialogue or an analysis of something rather than waiting for a break in the video. I wish they would just keep their advertisement at the start or at the end of the video. Because it especially ruins when you're listening to music

What youtube has done to its creators and artiest and etc is just pure B.S.  I mean those ppl are your freaking bread and butter and without them and no vids,  no money folks!  A lot of this has not only pissed of the youtubers but also many a fan of their work!   Also the overthrowing of COPYRIGHT LAWS is just like throwing cards at any one little thing they do wrong or even a note of it.  No youtube has been sinking for a while its just now a lot of ppl are taking note, given now this is also hitting the BIG TIME LINE STARS.
