Do you ever feel a bit lucky in an odd way?

I don't know, I just feel weird. I'm always hearing about how a classmate of mine has a dad who a jerk or they live in a small apartment or they just all have problems. I had a friend who had MAJOR problems with his family, it also feels like everyone has divorced parents. I've met A LOT of people who's parents are separated. I'm not saying I want my parents to get a divorce but, I just feel odd. It's like, "why not me?".

Anyone else feel this way?

So your just wondering why your parents never got a divorce? Or is it just that all these other people have been separated? My parents are divorced.

I don´t feel exactly lucky about it... probably because that exact example is very instabile in my family right now.

I´d just say that it is very hard to imagine what it is like living with divorced parents when you live in a family that holds together.

Somaybe it´s appreciated by too few, and if you say "I´m happy that my parents aren´t divorced" that means you do appreciate that fact, you took the time to think about: what would be if...

And that´s a good thing to do, and to realize.

I think what I meant to say is that It feels like everyone has problems they have to handle and I pretty much have things on easy mode. It just feels strange.

I think it´s just cool for you to have things on "easy mode" (whatever you mean by that, specifically).

I´d say that gives you strength and the opportunity to help your friends who are not as "lucky" (bad word for that) as you are.

I will mention, I've had a hard life. I mean I couldn't call it hard compared to others, But it has been hard, I'm currently a very unstable person, and quite Depressed, Nevermind that though.

But I can see my Life is slowly becoming better, and is slowly Improving.

But I can see what you're saying, and I do agree, I do feel lucky that my life isn't as bad as it could be.

I feel lucky that I'm not alone in some situations,

Summarized, Yes I do feel like that at times.

My parents are divorced because my dad wanted to hide his sexuality. I have severe social problems which leaves me alone in this world. I have a shitty self-esteem and self-confidence and I'm depressed. But, I do feel lucky that I have a good health and nothing more serious has ever happened to me. Heck, I should have even died at least twice, but I didn't. I consider myself lucky.

To live in a first world country and not be starving, yeah I feel kinda lucky. For first world problems, I don't feel lucky. One time I missed the bus at school and had to run to it, I got close to it but it passed a certain point on the street, and by law I couldn't go on the bus. Fucking school bus laws.

Why yes, yes I do....

At times I get so lucky in terms of having a good day or having it my way, just by doing nothing!

However when this happens, I tend to not question or think about it, because once I do, I immediately start loosing that luck.

A bit lucky? Why yes, I do feel that way on many occasions. It really just depends on the day, I guess. I mean, sometimes I stay up all night to the sun to get lucky. Sometimes I'm up all night to get lucky.

Well, a little bit, yes. My friend's family is a bit outrageous; they force her to go to Church (yes, my friend is religious), she gets blamed for the silliest things, she once got grounded for lightly kicking her sister. Her parents seem strict at times as well.

While my parents can be rude at times; they are still quite nice. According to my friend, I'm spoiled. I can see where she would draw that conclusion from, if I want something, I usually get it.

One of my other friend has divorced parents and I honestly couldn't imagine going through all that. I live under a roof, I have food, water, comfort, friends, while some others have none of that.

So, yes, I do feel lucky that my family isn't dysfunctional or less fortunate than others.

Yeah, kinda. Of course, I've been through a lot of shit in life, but at the end of the day I always have to stop and think "You know, things could be a whole helluva lot worse. I could've been born a meth baby whose parents OD'd on the stuff, being shifted around from foster home to foster home until I eventually ran away and started giving sexual favors for crack in an alley."

...I feel pretty lucky, all things considered.

I felt this way when I was around 12, I moved up to secondary school and realised how many people's presents were divorced, I felt odd and lucky that mine were not... A few months later they did divorce though, which sucked.

I have a weird mix of feeling lucky and unlucky constantly.

Reading other people's problems makes me glad I'm not them and make me feel lucky but then I look at my issues and feel real unlucky.
