Rarity in my opinion is entertaining in the way that I find it amusing how she reacts to certain situations (like the episode where twilight has her and AJ at her house for the night)

Now, don't get me wrong, I love them all, and Rarity is in fact my favorite of the Mane Six. I can see why people dislike her, and I think Arcanel said it very well:

I don't hate her, but along with Fluttershy, she's my least favorite of the Mane 6. Dash, Applejack, Twi and Pinkie interest me more than those two. That's just me. Just like some random guy on Omegle has his own view, too.

I know that feel man =). Honestly, and I'm paraphrasing something brony musician d.notive said, Rarity has a complex character. AS well as Twilight, also possess a sort of OCD. I think all of the mane 6 have complex characters though. With enough analysis, trust me, you can find SO much on that side...but anyway, yeah, sometimes people don't see the good stuff Rarity did. Did she "charm" Spike in getting the Fire Ruby? Probably. Was she also very protective of said thing because of how much it meant? Hell yes she did! And plus, she also has that sense of protectiveness, like when around Spike (honestly, that was one of my favorite moments of her XD). Or when defending her friends "style", so to speak, the moment Fancypants appear (and the guy responded in the best way possible. Honestly, I LOVE Fancypants too, but that's another point XD). The need for success is something that drives Rarity. Plus, she may be the drama queen, but come ON! Very few could tell that when she pulled the sofa out of nowhere so she could drop wasn't funny!

 

Trust me, I adore and love Rarity. Both for character, and for how much she makes me laugh (and she's also beautiful =) ).

Personally I think AppleJack is underrated.

While AppleJack is not my favorite she is completely underrated.

 

I can understand where some of the other Bronies are coming from in their dislike of Rarity. I used to think Rarity was really stuck up. Sort of like Diamond Tiara (who I personally hate) but I’ve learned she is just stylish, she’s classy, and sophisticated. Sure she can be a drama queen and her head has gotten too big for her shoulders before like in the Sonic Rainboom episode, but she’s been seen as extremely generous when she offers to make custom dresses for her friends for the Gala. Also, once she had finally realized a posh life in Canterlot, something she has always strove for, she was faced with a choice to disown her friends and continue her new life or stand by her friends and she chose her friends. So yeah, she can be a drama queen and sure she’s been seen as stuck up but those are character flaws which make Rarity complex, relatable, and believable and why I personally love her.

Well in my case I simple have less in common with rarity than the other ponies. I definitely do respect her generosity and am always a bit confused when people see her as greedy. I mean you see applejack obsess over bits all the time, but Rarity never does.

Yeah, it's a bummer that Rarity seems to be the least liked among bronies, but not really that surprising, as she is the most girly and the majority of bronies are male. She's actually my favorite (tied with Pinkie and with Fluttershy as a close second) because I find her prissy, drama queen, OCD behavior very funny - then again, I'm a girl, so maybe that's why I can relate to her a bit more than some bronies. Yes, she can be stuck-up, but I see that as just part of the character and not necasarily a bad thing as it is evened out by more positive traits (like creativity and generosity). Lots of likably characters can be stuck-up at times. I'd even say that Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash are stuck-up at times, too, but in a slightly different way.

If anyone should be hated on, it's Rainbow Dash! I like Rainbow Dash most of the times (She is one of my favorite ponies), but she can be a real jerk sometimes...

 

Rarity isn't that snootie though. Just because she doesn't like to get dirty, doesn't mean she's stuck up, and rude!

I don't think there's hate, necessarily, probably just the fact that Rarity puts a fair amount of a bronies at a distance. She's got a heck of a lot of flaws, which make her realistic, but also make her harder to want to relate to. The fact that she's very strongly affiliated with typically feminine behavior may not help. Men possibly can't relate to aspects of her personality as easily, since they're rooted in feminine traits: being coy, tendency to exaggerate emotions. And if they can, they don't want to. I wonder how popular Rarity is in the actual show demographic (i.e, young girls)? I'm sure she's more favorably looked upon there.

I understand the hate. I didn't hate her, but she wasn't my favorite pony. I like her a bit, but she is last on my list for favorite pony. I just don't like how she is a neat freak, cause I have a mom who is a neat freak and drives me crazy. NOW, I was open minded when reading this forum and like her more. I think she is a great pony. I never thought that even with her attitude, she has a lot to give back. She is willing to help any pony with fashion but may not be the best for the dirty work. I now like Rarity about 10 times more, but still is last on the list. I think the reason why I didn't like her as much is because her attitude and accent made her SEEM stuck up. I actually do love her from today. I also thought back to the sisterhood episode and think that she will be developed as a better character for Season 3.

I love Rarity.

People initially get the idea that Rarity is a stuck up brat when they see that she's the character who's very into fashion and is most likely rich, and the stuck-up rich girl stereotype comes to mind. They don't bother to look further into her character and just stick with that notion.

Honestly, I've seen people hating on Rainbow Dash a lot more than Rarity. Not saying that only because I dislike Rainbow.

 

However, I believe Rarity gets disliked because some people think she's one of those spoiled brats who always gets what she wants.

I think there's nothing wrong with rarity, If some people have seen the ending of the sonic rainboom you'll like her! I didn't like rarity in the first episodes because i thought she was being a stuck-up meanie, But the most episodes i love her in are "Sonic rainboom" "A Dog and a pony show" and "Putting your hoof down" I love rarity a lot in these episodes.

I think Rarity of a well loved character! I can't speak for other ponies of the Mane 6, but Rarity does have a pretty great sense of Humor once you think about it. I think some people might think Rarity comes off as one of those girls you'd see at the mall on a friday night, make-up and all, but she's reall not. As far as I've seen, she's loved a lot more than A LOT of other ponies.

Out of the main six, Rarity and Applejack come joint last in my fave list. But I'll admit, Rarity can be hilarious. When she acts silly it's ten times funnier because of her "upper classiness."
