Has liking MLP led you to like other stuff?

Basically, has getting into MLP led you to like other stuff that you didn't like before or gave you a new appreciation for things you didn't have much of an opinion of?

For me it has. I've always liked apples, but I've noticed recently that ever since I became a brony, I've begun liking apples and things made from apples a lot more than I used to. And it's not just because I think eating apples is a "pony" thing to do, I genuinely crave the stuff now.

For example, after first seeing the Flim Flam brothers episode, I got this massive craving for apple juice/cider. Now I can't get enough of it. I often grab breakfast at a local Dunkin' Donuts after work, and whenever I do I always grab a bottle of apple juice.

And I keep getting cravings for apple desserts too, because of how often they show up on the show. I was always a big fan of apple pie, but I feel like nowadays I REALLY love it. And just yesterday (which is when it hit me) I was sent to the aforementioned Dunkin' Donuts on a doughnut run for all of us at work, and I specifically made sure to get the apple-filled kind for me (and grabbed a juice too). Dammit, Applejack. You did this to me.

Anyway, just felt like sharing that, and asking if something similar's happened to anypony else. Or maybe I'm the only insane one. O_O

I don't think I really started doing things like eating more apples but I did start watching Doctor Who mostly due to Doctor Whooves which kinda sparked my curiosity (and also because my friend wouldn't stop bugging me to watch it :P)

Oh yeah, MLP has gotten me to do all sorts of things:

  • I have an addiction to Electronic and Metal music now. All genres. No exceptions
  • Ive watched way to many analysis vids, and now Im hypercritical of everything
  • I can draw
  • I can actually build good things in minecraft other than redstone now.
  • I talk to strangers
  • I, too, eat more apple products (although there was one time where I got a gallon of apple cider and drank it all in one day... I regret everything)

Thats all I can think of at the moment

It has, actually. It broke the barrier of, "this is for X and this is for Y" mindset I used to have. I've begun to like many other so-called girly things, such as Littlest Pet Shop.

It also introduced me to Doctor Who, as I loved the Doctor Whooves character, which made me gain an interest in the show and eventually like it.

In short, it has really changed my life, entertainment-wise.

I also got into Doctor Who because of Doctor Whooves and that one fan animated clip where Doctor Whooves is speaking to Martha from when he becomes John Smith

Watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has gotten me interested in the whole furry fandom, as it's very similar to the pony one. I also love techno/electric music because of the pony fandom. I watch Doctor Who every now and then but I wouldn't say I'm a fan just yet.

I started the Mass Effect series because of MLP, actually. I noticed that a lot of bronies like Mass Effect, so that and a few recommendations from some friends sparked my interest. It looked really interesting, so I decided to give it a go. Fast forward a couple of months, and now it's one of my favorite video game series.

A lot of MLP fans are Dr. Who fans. Plus, there was Doctor Whooves himself. I haven't been able to watch the show at all, but I can tell they've had a large influence to not only English TV but also to the Americas.

My Little Pony has got me into horses lately. They really are beautiful creatures, and I intend to start attending rodeos off and on from now on, and possibly buy a pet horse some time down the line (once I'm certain I'd be able to handle the burden)

Funny, for me it was the opposite: it was the Furry Fandom that got me interested in MLP to begin with, when some rather high-quality MLP artwork started showing up on some furry websites I frequented. I fell in love with the brony fandom, as it was pretty much a lot like the furry fandom, only a lot nicer and accepting and hugboxy, and up until Derpygate didn't have as much drama as the Furry Fandom usually gets.

Hmmm. Uh, well i can actually draw now sorta. That has I guess got me into other art drawn by others and appreciate it more(considering I can't do half of what they do).

Um. I guess indirectly listening to music sorta encouraged me to get a keyboard, maybe make my own music on it or something idk :P.

I guess I've got into singing a little more hearing the talented brony singers.

I also use to not care for friendships at all, but after watching mlp even though I don't have any IRL friends, Ive started to crave it more, luckily I have friends here, or this might drive me crazy.

Of course I have times where I don't care for friendships at all. But it's got to be something i value for(sometimes to depress me actually) more then before for sure.

Most of it was the fandom so idk. I can't really think of anything else right now, never really though of this.

It's interesting though

I might add more if it comes to mind.

I like both. I don't see anything wrong with the new one though, It's still really good. But I like them both equally I guess.

Yeah

In my case thanks to a certain slightly clumsy cross eyed Pegasus I have been eating more muffins. I have always liked muffins but she just makes me crave them, Derpy is the best thing to ever happen to the muffin industry she deserves to be a princess the princess of muffins.

Let's see now, since watching MLP and becoming part of this forum I:

  • Picked up my untouched for 6 year sketchbook and began to draw again
  • Began to talk to my friends more
  • I'm less grumpy now
  • Singing the songs featured in the show in my head haha

No, not really. I've seen a few livestreams of games broadcasted by bronies before and picked up some of the games livestreamed, but other than that the only thing MLP has really done for me is restore "cute" and "adorable" to my vocabulary.

1. I'm more sociable and kinder to others.

2. I eat more fruits and vegetables.

3. I have come to love the color Lavender as well as other shades of purple.

4. I'm a little more open to expressing my feelings where appropriate.

5. I empathize better.

6 The fandom led me to Dr. Who.

Heck yeah! If it weren't for MLP, I probably would have never been a huge fan of house and I wouldn't be inspired to make my own music! mlp-dgosh.png

Well, I eventually got into Doctor Who 'cause the pony version of the Doctor made me curious, but I was planning to watch it anyways. However, all the fuss about the Doctor and Derpy pushed me to watch the show much sooner. I regret nothing :D

Also, I eventually started doodling ponies. My drawing skills have gotten much better since I joined.

And finally, I've become more social on the internet and in real life. I'm usually the person who's content to just sit and watch stuff happen, but now I actually do stuff.

Like participate on these forums for example.
