Why do some bronies seem to hate Princess Celestia?

It's not about things like plotholes here, it's about hating. And yet i have to find a Non Luna Fan, who really hates Celestia's character and decisions.

 

Wait, maybe except of some Twilight fans, because Celestia didn't officially say sorry. Like many others, but so what....

Wait... So... You have Non Luna Fans, but then you say they don't count because they are Twilight fans? Isn't that just twisting things to fit your ideals? Also what about the Luna fans who LIKE Celestia? What about us, do we not count in this?

No. I forgot about very few Twight fans. And if someone says "Celestia is a bitch and sux" you can bet on it that Luna is best princess to them. That doesn't mean that ALL Luna fans are hating her.

I personally know some people who don't have Luna as favorite princess but hate Celestia. Mostly Cadance people. Some Twilights. But the fact of the matter is, is that if you use ad hominems but then sort of try & work around them by saying things like "so what" about Twilight fans hating her, or that all pro-Luna princess fans are against her when I could get a hold of people who prefer one of the other Princesses but still don't like Celestia, it just makes this convoluted mess that just doesn't work as an argument. Big rule of debating; Avoid ad hominems whenever possible. They are too easy to break, as all it takes is one person/thing going against the grain to ruin the ad hominem

No. I said "So what", because it's stupid to hate Celestia for this moment while other ponies weren't shown to say sorry either. And i was talking about hating, not disliking. Of course, there are more than Luna Fans, who dislike Celestia.

 

Is my english that bad or do people try to nitpick and to twist my every word? I can't make myself clearer now so i leave it with that.

Ohh you touched on another reason I dislike her actually... The Mane 6 characters each have humorous attributes whereby certain characteristics get overblown for comic effect, but the underlying positivity of the character still ends up coming out "on top". 

Ime, this makes them so, so much more likable and relatable as interesting and endearing characters. 

 

Princess Celestia however, doesn't have any of this. She's never funny, humorous, she never makes accidents that make her look silly. This makes her a lot more bland, standoffish and one dimensional imo.

Regarding her lack of humour, she has been around for 1000+ years and has experienced more than anypony can imagine, in conjunction with her royal duties, its understandable that she rarely lets loose/appears serious. Having said that, she loved seeing the Gala get sabotaged because of how dull it usually is for her and there's this little gem:

I have no idea what you're talking about with the hate. I think she is a good character. And she isn't a god character. We know this from A Canterlot Wedding where she is defeated by Chyralis (how ever it is spelt). And she likes cake.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that most bronies "hate" Celestia. It seems to be more of a case of preferring Princess Luna over her.

 

While Princess Luna is mysterious, awesome, and has a lot of character potential, I actually like Princess Celestia a lot better.

Bronies don't hate her. They just don't care about her. She has no clear personality and not a single episode of development. She is either kidnapped by her sister/Chrysalis/vines or just sits and do nothing. She is just an extension to Twilight's development just like Flash.

That really isn't fair to Princess Celestia though, it is not her fault that the writers have left the royal sisters story potential mostly untapped. She is the mentor figure, the mother figure, the adviser... in the eyes of the writers that she all she is needed for.

 

We need an episode giving viewers a deeper into into the minds, thoughts, and personality of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna... especially Celestia. It is why I am glad the comics offer more for the royal sisters, though their have been complaints about the Reflections arc.

 

Though more recently there is the book by Amy Keating Rogers, one of the show writers for MLP:FiM... which for me makes this book official lore on the royal sisters.

Consider for a moment the possibilities: You have ruler that is over 1000 years old, one who had to live all but alone because of the events involving Nightmare Moon and having to watch as everypony around her grows old and dies. A mare with a millennia of experience and having experianced the very history ponies have only read about, a millennia to learn magic and better herself.

 

She is a mystery, one I feel wears a mask that hides her true self from her subjects. Her fears, her uncertainties, her loneliness, and her struggles. A ruler that has become the wise mentor and teacher that so many ponies depend on and look up to, one who must be strong for her subjects and Equestria. Yet one that is also neither perfect nor without weakness and flaws.

 

She has so much potential for expression and development, so much that can be revealed. Which is why I would rather see more of her then Princess Luna, for the time being we have enough development for the princess of the night. Unless the writers create episodes involving Princess Celestia we will never have a full character.

Hm, I find this discussion quiet amusing, since I'm reading at a moment a book on ancient egyptian humour. These jokes on Pharao Hatshepsut....

Definitely category "Molestia" if you ask me.

But you would have a hard time trying to find a better, fairer, (nonfictional) ruler more beloved by her subjects.

On the contrary, how much jokes have you seen on hated rulers? Not nearly as much, and not nearly as elaborate.

Therefore, I dare to say the more jokes are made about a ruler, the more liked he/she is, not the other way round.

Personally I think she is a great character and this is coming from a Luna fan! She is motherly, sweet and even a bit mysterious.

I definitely agree that she is like one of us. To me, I think she's more interesting in the comics, which is what made me like her more.  It upsets me that some fans does see her as only a tyrant and/or a troll,in which she is not.
