music Your Favourite Film Composers

My favourites are:

1.Hans Zimmer - he's just God of soundtracks:)
2.Two Steps From Hell (mainly Thomas Bergersen) - not that they made a lot of soundtracks, but just great music;
3.John Powell - his scores for the animated movies are very gorgeous and inspiring:)

Then...

4.Jesper Kyd - I fell in love with her scores for the Assassin's Creed games;
5.Jeremy Soule - Elder Scrolls..very atmospheric stuffs;
6.Brian Tyler - has a really interesting and fresh ideas;

7.Craig Armstong, Harry Gregson-Williams, Alan Silvestri..and John Williams of course:)
that's all I recalled yet..

It isn't like Top 7, just a list, because really hard to choose even some of them like the best composers:)
Though..Zimmer with no doubt the best to my mind))

In no certain order,

 

• Hans Zimmer
• Danny Elfman
• Two Steps From Hell
• Mike Morasky

I suppose those are the main four, if I had to order them...it would be in this order:

 

1. Mike Morasky (Portal 2 OST) (Despite being a video game music composer, I'm still counting him..I love him THAT much.)
2. Two Steps From Hell
3. Danny Elfman
4. Hans Zimmer

Hm..I played in Portal..but didn't pay attention on soundtrack. And I have not heard anything about this composer. Ought to listen his music))

For me it would probably have to be Howard Shore, who did the music for The Lord of the Rings.  After that John Williams has done some amazing stuff.  And of course who couldn't like Hans Zimmer?

John Williams. Williams is everything from classic Superman to Darth Vader to Jurassic Park. He is without question, the greatest composer of the modern age.

Hans Zimmer, Two Steps from Hell and John Williams are probably my top 3 favourite film composers. Zimmer's probably my number 1 though .

I must say...i love John Murphy's work, he composed the soundtrack for sunshine (2007 movie) and if i'm not wrong 28 days later. Listen to The Surface of the sun

John Williams is my absolute favourite composer without a doubt. He composed the soundtracks to Star Wars, Superman, Indiana Jones and many many more. All of the scores he composed are outstanding and Oscar-worthy.

 

Jerry Goldsmith is another favourite of mine because he composed the theme to the first Star Trek movie, which is one of my all-time favourite themes. He also did the score for the for the Rambo movies and Supergirl (which is a horrible film, yet the soundtrack is great). Much like Williams, all the scores he composed are fantastic.

 

Brad Fiedel is also worth mentioning for his music in The Terminator.

Unfortunately I can't recall most of these people by name at this time, but one of my favorites is definitely Hans Zimmer. The music he composes is absolutely amazing. Additionally, among the movies he made music for is the Pirates of the Caribbean series, which is one of my favorite movie series of all time.
