As corny as it sounds, I think of friends. 

 

People may badmouth the brony community and there are even some dissenters among this very forum, but I actually seriously enjoy being a part of this community. Whenever I think of My Little Pony, I think of all the good times I had among here and my blossoming interest as an artist. (Seriously. Drawing ponies got me started drawing, y'know, stuff. Crazy, innit?) I'm proud to put MLP stickers on my laptop case and answer questions about my t-shirt choices, because damnit I am a pegasister and I have never had a better time with this show!

 

If this community hadn't garnered the attention it did, I wouldn't have even heard of the show. And because I fell in love with My Little Pony after hearing about the brony phenomenon, I owe a great deal to this community. It introduced me to a fantastic show, and it gave me some wonderful characters to get behind.

 

But I also gained a lot of friends in this place. I love coming on here and checking status updates and horsing around with GIFs. This is one of my favorite corners of the internet.

I always think of the amazing music from the show and the fandom

It's about the smile I have with almost every single episode. Just like If I were a kid once again, it's like a childhood I never had the chance to have. It's about feeling myself clean again, about being strong once more. Just like having a direction to be able to look at, when each light in my life seems like has turned off a long time ago. It's great to have such chance, and sad at the same time. A non-real reason I'm filling up my hopes from, or maybe a reminder of something better, I couldn't tell which one.

I think of the fact that though life can be incredibly depressing and soul crushing at times that there is still some good in this world. People forget that it is humans who created this show and its characters and they are a reflection of said humanity and it is these ponies because they are so human that so many of us have such strong emotional bonds over certain characters. All the time I hear people say they like this pony or that pony because they can relate to them or they admire them and some even saying that they have crushes on some of them I myself have said many times that I like Applejack because of both reasons and have long had a crush on Applejack. It is idealized in large part because there are certain subjects which cannot be covered in a childrens show, but despite this the character are still realist portrayals with positive as well as negative traits. It is also reminds me of the cartoons I grew up with in the 90's which really brings some good memories.
