I think you're all missing the point of the Final Round and it being set up this way... I still can't believe you all are trying to get your pony to have the most votes... Mathematically, everyone should be the same...

Im not holding this against the Pinkie fans, i know it was a tiny minority that did what it did. But i just cannot find any joy in this competition anymore.

I'm having trouble finding joy in it myself, but meh, it all comes down to being in it for Rarity  

 

I'm not going to be nearly as enthusiastic as I was after last night's debacle, but I'm still going to cheer Rarity on as much as I can, and try to have some fun with it

In my opinion, having this new system added at the last minute from the point of view of the posters here is offensive. It should have been mandated from the beginning that this would be the case instead of being the secret goal. I am not sure if it would have saved Twilight or not but I guess it doesn't matter at all. The purpose of this 'contest' was for everypony to "win" and it's now been revealed to this effect. It's done as some long term positive relations exercise and it makes me very upset to be so manipulated. I am not in any way 'participating' in another contest on this site. The word is in quotes because our participation was irrelevant.

Yesterdays antics (rather meager in the view of the wide web), caused a lot of people to either give up, or become en-raged. So this system is in place for the time being to try to appease those who had been offended, or otherwise disillusioned to the contest. It is trying to bring the voter base back together in a cohesive unit.

Yesterday was a complete clusterfuck of WTF, with name calling, pony shaming, but yesterday's history is erased, we can start fresh!

 

I hope to have fun with this competition again. I gave up on it yesterday.

Well to be 100% honest, yesterday was a far cry from participating in even the local sheriff election. That thing got so heated we actually had to have roving patrols around the candidates houses.

But those other rounds did not have the "shitstorm" that surrounded the others, so this new move is trying to bring people back in. Its like a band aid, once its healed it can be removed.

I was here. I was even making jokes towards Rarity and Flutters (mostly with Flufflepuff's pillow attacks), but alot of the crap was being dealt with. The biggest problem I saw, was people complaining about it after, and even some stuff that apparently happened before this round. Based on those complains, I'd say this round wasn't the only one to have some crap flung around.

sucks but this is how it goes. If people think this final method is a cop out or its lame, then they have their fellow users to blame.

 

I feel more bad for the users who have been in this thing since day 1 and were being cool and sportsmanlike. They have to suffer because a couple of aggressive personalities came in and derailed the competition (who have now left and not shown back up). But things got too out of control and I had to change it up to restore order.

 

I've got some guidelines and rules to consider when starting this back up next year.
