Read a status update tonight advertising to vote for Applejack. Out of curiosity, I came back here and started reading this thread.

 

Then there was one less vote. Actually two, because I voted for Pinkie Pie earlier too because whatever. Not even going to bother checking back later to find out who won because I couldn't care less now.

Day 16 in Review:

 

 

*deep breath* It pains me to admit defeat.  It pains me that the Derp Brigade was, in the end, despite an awesome run to the Elite Eight itself, unable to overcome insurmountable odds.  But it does not pain me one bit, not one bit at all, that we put up as much of a fight as we could, given the circumstances.  Now is not a time to hang our heads.  That's not how Derpy rolls.  To my comrades, lovers of the derp one and all, I say this: just keep on lovin' her, keep on lovin' MLP, and have a blast.  That's how we do things in the Derp Brigade; no matter how many times we may stumble, we always pick ourselves up and keep on truckin'.

 

Pinkie Pie, you've got some dang fine fans.  But...

 

DERPY'S STILL BEST PONY!!!     

 

 

Day 17 Comments

 

Alrighty, Final Four, almost the end of the line.  Got two exciting match ups this evening.  One's not so hard for me to decide on, the other, well, kinda is.  As far as Pinkie Pie and Rarity goes, well, Pinkie Pie took down Derpy.  Sorry Pinkie, that's unforgivable in my book, so my vote goes to good ol' Rarity.  Rarity's also having the better season; don't get me wrong, Pinkie's been great (heck, that Pinkie-rap segment today was easily one of the most random bits of amazing we've had in awhile ), but Rarity's been having probably her best season ever, especially needed after the way she got gypped last season.  Besides that I'd just rather see a newcomer in the Championship rather than a former champion who's been to the finals twice now.

 

As for Applejack and Fluttershy, that one's a lot tougher.  I love the Flutter Corps and Applejack's Army almost equally, been supporting them both throughout.  So it really comes down to which pony has been having the better season, and when I look at it that way, I gotta say that AJ's simply been having the better season of the two.  Would've been tougher choosing if not for the Breezies episode; I'm sorry, but that episode was one of the low points of the season for me, and despite Fluttershy having a very decent season overall, AJ's simply doing better.  Flutter fans, I'm sorry to say it, but I gotta go with AJ on this one.  Besides, the thought of a Rarijack Final intrigues me very much indeed.

 

So, to those voters who are still undecided, you want my opinion?  VOTE RARITY AND APPLEJACK!!!!!!!!

Apparently this was a rough round of drama. I had no idea, being busy literally almost the entire day. 
 
Well, all I'd like to say is that I'll be gleeful no matter who wins and that we should stop fighting over this.
 
Haha, nah. I'd be dishonoring the element of honesty to say that. 
 
No, I'd be rather downcast to see AJ go, and especially so if both of the dark horses (pun FULLY INTENDED ) were the losers of this match. I think we could all say that about our favorites to win. But the thing is -- I mean, look. How many ponies did you have in this tournament?
 

Well that's one column of... oh dang, I forgot the number again.

 
Well, stop looking at me, I'm too tired to count. But that's exactly the point; there's a lot. And I don't care if some of those ponies were "no threat", because if you don't believe my words on that count, howabout the monster matches each of the final four have conceded victory on?
 
Applejack faced off against Rainbow Dash, which was a total smackdown. But why? BECAUSE SHE GOT OVER A HUNDRED VOTES AGAINST THE PONY WHO WON LAST YEAR.
 
Fluttershy went against Luna, a pony who she's had a hard time with in many years before, and won.
 
Rarity, in an intense and grueling match decided by a very few votes, beat out the leader of the Mane 6.
 
Pinkie Pie managed to battle and live to tell the tale against one of the most beloved icons of the brony fandom.
 
What I'm trying to say is, all of these competitors are frickin' winners.
 
I thought the messaging and rallying was just the AJ fans, but no, from what I see, it's everyone. Everyone's pulling together their teams. I know we've seen the bad side of how intense people are getting, but there's something sweet about the way this has brought together the fanclubs, too. Fans of every pony got to make a stand for their characters.
 
And I know that when I got on today, voted, and then found multiple AJ supporters telling me straight up that they were happy to have me here to help her into the final two... Or the other day, when somepony volunteered to make artwork or compose a little ditty...

A song, very familiar, came to mind.
 

Nearly every new recruit to the Apple fandom comments that the welcome is "more fun than the color pink"

or conversely "balloons flying over my favorite drink". This is a statistical phenomenon on the scale of

how the forum in almost entirely male and yet the AJ fandom is disproportionately made of chicks.

Well, that doesn't apply to the other three ponies, but I'm sure their fans get something slightly less cool to represent their bond like bracelets or cookie wands or somesuch.

And general question, who keeps deleting/changing their votes? I keep seeing totals dropping a point instead of rising. And yes, I am keeping a note of the totals over time.

Eh, Twiley wouldn't have liked everyone to act like that. She would be a gracious loser. She would have been happy enough to get that far like in the running of the leaves. Now, with her gone, I hope for Applejack to win but Rarity is good too and the favorable final match would be those two.

Actually, a mod took care of alot of the negative and hate posts. Most of what I've seen is all silly and in fun if anything.
