Geeze. Tough choice. It's either Rainbow Dash or Pinkie Pie. It's like choosing between my own kin!

 

I'll probably lean toward Pinkie Pie for three reasons: she's a party animal, she plans several steps ahead of everyone else, and Gummy.

I've long since given up on trying to decide on my favourite out of the mane 6. It results in too much brain hurt.

 

My favourite secondary character is, without a doubt, Sweetie Belle. I can't get over how adorable she is.

 

As for background characters? Derpy (since the last roundup) and DJ PON3/Vinyl Scratch. Derpy is just too funny and I really like Vinyl's design.

I voted fluttershy for the first. I like all of the main ponies, but fluttershy is my favorite because I can relate to her the most. Plus she's so cute! ^yay!

 

I voted princess luna for the second. I thought her halloween episode was adorable. I'd like to be her friend.

 

I voted DJ P0N3 for the last. She's just amazing, I wish she'd get more screen time.

I've always felt closest to Applejack among the Mane 6 since I could sympathize with her on most things.

 

Among all the ponies though, Trixie is easily my favorite. She's a very interesting character who I feel is deeper than her one-episode appearance would suggest.

 

First off, why the insistence on referring to herself in the third-person? Why the boastfulness and the obsession with always being the best in all things magic? One could argue that these are part of her show-mare stage persona but they persist even in her conversations with ponies outside her shows. She also takes the attacks on her show from our heroes personally judging by how intent she was on humiliating them. All these point towards a deep seated insecurity that she deals with by lashing out at everybody around her. However, insecurities like these don't just develop on their own. They stem from bad experiences, usually in childhood, and fester in the sub-conscious.

 

Was she just as awkward as Twilight as a foal? Was she bullied in school like Rainbow Dash because she excelled in her talent? What could have caused her to develop the haughty facade as a defense mechanism? I feel that underneath the abrasive exterior she projects is a lonely filly who, unlike our heroes, wasn't able to find friends of her own. This makes me sympathize with her immensely since I've dealt with similar issues as a child.

 

Despite her insecurity, she remains a strong, independent mare who does her best to earn a livelihood and make her way in the world. I felt that the Mane 6's reactions to her performance were highly uncalled her. It *was* a magic show after all. What did they expect? After RD boos her, she does provoke them with her challenge but this was understandable. I doubt any of them would have acted differently if a complete stranger had just insulted their one special talent. We've seen how important a pony's cutie mark is to them and what happens when their talents are either called into question:

 

Twilight Sparkle and Pinke Pie go off the deep end.

Applejack nearly works herself to death.

Rainbow Dash becomes paralyzed with fear.

Fluttershy becomes incredibly unstable.

Rarity isolates herself from everyone around her.

 

Trixie refuses to accept that her talent is useless and simply resolves to work harder.

 

In short, I found Trixie to be a very human character. Someone who is flawed but is too determined to let that stop her even without friends.

 

Yep, Trixie is best pony in my book. I just wish we see more of her this season.

I really tend to say that my favorite ponies are Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie, although if I had to choose I'd probably say Fluttershy.. she's just too adorable.

Applejack, of course! I'm happily surprised that she's gotten so many votes, since I've been under the impression that she's not that well liked.

Where to start? Her accent. Her trustworthyness. Her fighting spirit.

But most of all, her laid back country ways, such as in "Look before you sleep". This show needs more Applejack episodes

 

Oh, and Pinky is my second favourite. She's lively and random, sure, but mostly because she's so incredibly happy all the time, and lacks a bit in empathy when it comes to small things that really doesn't matter. In this aspect, I think she's the one I resemble the most.

The other mane characters are hard to decide on, but I'm really fond of both Twilight and Rarity, so I think they're somewhat above the others. I've never been much of a Fluttershy fan, though she is cute and awesome and "I'm so frustrated I just want to scream". I like her, and some of her moments are the highlights of the entire show, but I like the ones listed above more.

I really liked RD in the first episodes, but she haven't really made any good impressions on me since, until recently. The latest episode made me really unsure on where to place her. She IS awesome after all.

 

TL;DR: I love all ponies, damn it!

 

As for minor characters I chose Luna, solely based on s2e4.
