My favorites have sort of changes over the seasons.

 

First impressions, I didn't like AJ or Rarity, and Dash seemed fun. Pinkie annoyed me pretty badly.

 

Now? AJ, Twilight, and Rarity are my favorites, and Pinkie has really grown on me. Fluttershy has had some nice moments. Dashie... well... ahem. I don't particularly like her.

Rarity, Princess Luna, and Derpy! I think I love these characters the most because they tend to get misunderstood.

 

Rarity may come off as prissy and fussy (Applejack sure thought so!) but I remember her kicking a manticore in the face and cutting off her own tail to fix a mustache. And then, later on, offering to make her friends free dresses (how many ponies would do that?). And then, when they did not appreciate them, she worked even harder to give them exactly what they wanted and nearly ruined her career. I find her very complex and intriguing. I am happy she is the element of generosity.

 

Princess Luna - the episode Luna Eclipsed sealed the deal there. I loved that episode.

 

Derpy - the "save Derpy!" campaign is how I came to MLP in the first place. I will always love Derpy!

For me its a toss up between Twilight and Fluttershy, but I do like all of the mane 6.

 

As for favorite pony that isn't one of the mane 6, my vote is for Luna.

Oh that's hard. If I have to pick one out of the main six, it's Fluttershy due to being so adorable tho Pinkie Pie and Rarity get my honorable mentions. PInkie Pie since she is so random and reminds of my childhood. Rarity because she learns the best lessons whenever the episode is just about her.

 

As for secondary: Big Macintosh, Photo Finish, Celestia, and Luna.

Fluttershy. I don't really know why, but I'm just more drawn to her then the other ponies. Her kind nature and love of animals just make me think she'd be the one I'd get along the most with. I also love "the stare" and her feisty side!

I honestly don't understand why people like ponies like Octavia, Lyra, and Vinyl Scratch so much. They're just backround ponies that appeared in one episode for less than a minute. There's no personality shown, no anything. I'm confuzzled. I don't even know who a lot of those ponies are. Can somebody explain to me what's so amazing about them?

While Fluttershy and her cheering was my first exposure to the show, and Pinky Pie absolutely embodies my sense of humor if I had nothing holding it back, I identify most strongly with Twilight Sparkle, as she always has something to learn, even if she's determined to do otherwise. Rather like myself. As for the best of the Mane 6? I found it's best not to open THAT can of worms.

 

Apple Bloom is my favorite secondary character, and, being the avid Doctor Who fan that I am, how could I not appreciate Doctor Whooves?

my favorite character is rainbowdash. She is my favorite because she is afraid of failure and only wants to succeed. She also has a very high goal that seems impossible to get to.
