Should we or should we not shun the lesser liked parts of the fandom? As in the Cloppers, Grimdark fans and other less liked parts of the fandom?

 

As in shun, hate them, bully, isolate them, wish their sub fandom to die and keep them away from the rest of the "morally superior" "normal" Bronies?

 

I don't think we should hate them, granted yes. There are sick parts of this fandom that even I find sick and disturbing, but I personally feel turning a blind eye to it and ignoring and accepting them is best.

 

Plus if we go around attacking ourselves it just creates drama. So I think we just stay away from these lesser liked parts of the fandom and let them do their thing. 

 

Edit: I myself do like clop! And have written clop (mostly trollfics, but clop none the less) and thus like some of the more lesser liked parts of this fandom. I made this thread to challenge the views of some our more out spoken members of our fandom that hate these lesser liked subjects. Better me, than someone who actually does want to insight hate, I merely want to see their views and written the post as if I was one of those "morally superior" "normal" Bronies? 

 

I'm happy most people have not proven to be hateful and spiteful of the other less liked parts of the fandom.

I'm gonna go ahead and be honest with this.

A large part of how I got drafted into the fandom was pony porn.

In more words, pony images started to flood image boards, and even frequently got past blacklistings. Though, at some point, I got taken with some of the fanart (both innocent and not); it kinda endeared me to what I originally saw as childlike characters, and brought the show as a whole up above something shallow and aimed at children, especially if so many people fell for it and were willing to draw amazing fanart for it.

Nowadays I'm not huge on pony porn, as I find myself more inclined towards fanfiction and innocent/pretty art, but clop-material was an ambassador of sorts that did its job well in the end.

 

As for grimdark, well, to an extent I love creative potential and variance for sake of uniqueness and exploration. While I wouldn't like to read torture-porn, I'm glad there's darker creative traces in the fandom.

Personally, I wouldn't even say that cloppers and grimdarks are really bad. They just happen to be places (among others) where you can find the real problem bronies, the misogynists and rape-apologists and self-righteous bullies who spit on the Elements of Harmony. I would not say that bullying anyone is the answer or that it will solve anything, but I do think that in our spaces the message needs to be sent (and usually is) that hateful, hurtful behavior is not tolerated by the larger fandom, and that a real brony is not one of these such individuals, but is someone who always works to be honest, kind, generous, joyous, and loyal <3

No, don't shun them necessarily. Just don't humor them, and try and minimize their visibility within the fandom. If they are into stuff like that, its their right and their business, but they shouldn't be shoving it in our faces, and should either keep it to themselves, or only show it to other like minded individuals on specific communities for just them.

The Ponies are basically Humans trapped in the body of a Pony that act and even looks more Human than Pony.

Or to speak within the shows cannon, the spike/rarity relationship.  Can you call that innapropriate when they are two diffrent species or is ok because they are not "Human". 

 

Can you accept that love and relationships can extend beyond our own speicies? I prefer to think they can.

Care to elaborate why you dissagree with my prior statement?

 

As for owning ponies. My wife does own a pony.  He lives with 2 other mini's at her parents home (Property),  I am a clopper, she knows it and knows that I would never "Touch" a real horse.     So please stop trying to say all cloppers are pedo's or worse. 

 

Now as to the other parts of the fandom.  I don't like grimdark.   I don't like horror movies/literature in general.  But I am not going be mad at the people who produce that media.  Some people like it, I don't, it's not a problem.
