I guess my love for Trixie has gotten to level 5.

Level 7. I want to become this character.

Erm no. While I do wish I was LIKE Applejack in almost every way as she is very much a role model, I wouldn't want to actually be a cartoon character.... that's just weird.

 

Level 6. I want to have an ''adult''(You know what it means) relationship.

.... Yeeaaahhhh. Gonna pretend that wasn't an option. O.O

 

Level 5. I want to confess my love for him/her.

This is a very strange option as well. I'm a straight female human, dang it! The only "love" I would confess to Applejack other than an obsessive fangirl love is a friendship love.

 

Level 4. I want to be his/her friend.

If she were real? Heck yeah! But she isn't.

 

Level 3. My favorite cartoon character.

Now THIS I can agree with. I can say with absolute certainty that Applejack is my favorite cartoon character.

 

I'm voting a 3 on the poll, but given the right context I could go as high as a 5. Don't question my love for the apple pone. I might not select the creepier options, but know that I am still very passionate.

But in between level 1 to 7. Mine is between 5-7 because I do want to confess my love for Fluttershy but at the same time, I wouldn't really want to be in a relationship with her if she existed for many reasons. But she is a sweetheart that deserves a better stallion than me.

 

I'd like to be her friend more than a boyfriend to be honest. But inside, I still love her with my heart

The amount of level 4 and aboves is suprisingly high.

Sometimes I wonder. I know a lot of the fans love the characters in MLP:FiM, but from what I've seen in the forums here and elsewhere, including NSFW fanfics and art and much milder clopfics and art A LOT of the discussion and work surrounding the characters revolves around romantic obsessions like a freaking waifu or just as sex objects.

 

I will probably get a lot of hate for saying this but this seems to be how a large part of the fans view the characters and their favorites. I don't mind the joking aspect or even the romance obsession but sometimes I think certain folks take it a little too far even without the clopping and NSFW. 

 

Now personally I don't view my favorite character, Applejack that way. I view her first and foremost as well, a cartoon character, and beyond that artificial boundary as a friend and a role model to live by, as are all the Mane 6 in their own ways. I don't fantasize about having her in bed with me nor do I concoct scenarios where I bump into her. You can criticize me for preaching from my ivory tower, but that's how I feel about my favorite character, and think she should ultimately be treated as. Besides I think THIS would more than likely be how it played out if I obsessed over Applejack:

No they are not... Do not delude yourself. It is not and will never be canon. Fluttershy was just being the all-time victim/pushover to Rainbow Dash.

She was willing to leave for many moons to help RD and at the end, that was a nice embrace. There are relationships building, Rarity and Applejack works well, a lesbian pair or two would make the show that much better. Girl and girl relationships do not require sex, just being much closer friends. It would be difficult for the show to be obvious but adults can see the body language and dialog combinations to see what is going on.

Well, you do have a point. But it does not seem to be based in evidence. Perhaps if you could show reasons, from the show, why they were not a couple now, that might be compelling.
