Nonsense. Vinyl Scratch is just receiving a lot of hype because she's (for whatever reason) receiving a bigger role in the upcoming Equestria Girls movie. Yes, it stinks that Applejack got snubbed out of the McDonalds toy line whereas Vinyl Scratch was featured in her place, but this would not be the first time Applejack has been left out of a merchandise set, and it surely won't be the last. The merchandise has no bearing on what direction the show will take.

 

Applejack is a central character and is pivotal to the show's balanced out main cast. Love her or hate her, she isn't going anywhere. As much as some people STILL might think she's the weak link character who could easily be replaced, she simply cannot, and her permanent removal would render a lot of rightfully disgruntled fans. Naturally, somepony has to be the least favorite mane character, and even if that dubious honor happens to go to Applejack, there are still many more people who cherish her character than not. She's FAR more popular than Vinyl Scratch, who has only become popularized through fan interpretations.

 

And after a season 4 that has been chock full of great Applejack episodes, I would think it's safe to say that the alleged background pony still has a lot to offer to audiences. Rest easy, for this irreplaceable pony is here to stay.

Oh yeah, Applejack is a background pony She's even more in the background than Vinyl, you guys are blind, if you don't see it!

 

After all, she didn't get a single episode in season 4! Or seasons 1, 2, 3! She never stood by Twilight's side, when she was learning about friendship and fighting with their enemies! She wasn't there to help Main 6 multiple times, when they needed her! She never meet Princess Celestia! Never defated Discord! Or Nightmare Moon! Oh, and she definitely wasn't there as a Power Pony! She never even come close to the Elements of Harmony! She also absolutely wasn't the first one to welcome Twilight in the very first episode!

 

And! She didn't learn anything!

 

You know, she just stood in the background. As always >D What a useless pony.

Literally vinyl doesn't have any lines and doesn't show up for like almost every episode. First you might need a voice actor.

Without AJ, who is going to be the element of honesty? I don't think Vinyl has the qualities to replace AJ. The reasons why is stupid. Replace AJ, a great and one of the best characters in the series, because Vinyl is a background character? There are many other background characters... Anyway I think it's a background AJ joke.

Yeah I doubt they'd remove AJ. She isn't that big of a background character now. Plus the Apple family plays too big of a role in the town for AJ to be replaced. And if they tried a 'she left to live in another town' that would conflict with the episode where RD's sonic rainboom showed her the way home and she got her cutie mark.

I highly,highly doubt any of the Mane 6 would ever be replaced. If Applejack was replaced Hasbro would make a huge amount of the fan base pissed and they know that, and wouldn't dare risk it. Just look at what happened with the Alicorn Twilight uproar. It would be way worse if Applejack was cut out. Don't feel bad though. People make mistakes I also have a tendency to believe internet rumors and chain mail. You are not stupid. It is a valid concern.
