Do Ponies Go to the Bathroom?

Anyways, for me I think they do indeed "go", but it is colored... because, c'mon, they are colorful so... wouldn't that just like make sense...?

We have seen that they have toilets and Pinkie did have to go to the bathroom in that episode where AJ ran off to Dodge Junction whose name I forget. As for the specifics, I figure they're probably like regular horses only they actually go to toilets.

What I would like to know is do they use their shit as fertilizer? Horse manure is sometimes used as fertilizer so do the ponies do that with their own stuff? It would put a whole meaning to the doing your duty.

When one considers the logistics of this, they're also forced to consider all of the other necessary civil infrastructure of a given community (waste management, water provision and processing, agricultural usage balance, urban planning, road maintenance, etc.) which all turn Ponyville remarkably boring and therefore acceptable things to ignore for the sake of enjoying the story.

I chose "other" because I don't believe they go to the bathroom. I believe that everything that ponies eat/drink isn't digested, it is just teleported to another dimension.

 

Now, being serious, they definitely go to the bathroom. I'm now curious about Cloudsdale's drainage system though.

The real question is do they go standing up like real horses or do they go sitting down like people? And for that matter what would an Equestrian commode look like? For fillies and mares it might be more like a regular toilet, but due to the somewhat distanced pertinent anatomies on colts and stallions, their toilet would be a somewhat awkward affair to use. Maybe a trough they'd have to straddle?

 

Guh, sonetimes have too much time on my hooves for my own good....

maybe, maybe not, if they keep them completely personified I guess they do? but if they mix it up and keep their animal reality in that sense then they don't .-. But then how do ponies hide their "business" if they don't normally wear clothes. If stallions don't where clothes then shouldn't we be able to see their "stallion hood" plopped out. Maybe that's why we don't see a lot of stallions but then did the stallions we do see all get snipped? And where do mares fit into this do they just hide it with their tail and only a well angled look cann reveal their pieces of the puzzle?
