  1. I've always held she was either supposed to be a late bloomer, or handicapped. Why? So they can write episodes about a character overcoming such issues and deliver yet another lesson.
  2. @@Tealeaf Thank you for helping me. I appreciate you taking the time. Regarding her appearance, I tried giving her a sepia-esque color scheme. It's reassuring to know I balanced everything. I enlisted the expertise of @@Sonatica for this particular illustration. Her style is most fitting, isn't it? Regarding her cutie mark, I agree with your concern. I need to have it's design refined... or simplified? Either way, I'm glad to hear you feel it's an appropriate representation of her theme. Regarding her personality and bio, I'm pleasantly surprised. I was so sure I would have gone wrong somewhere. I only provided a condensed version of her early life. Is this ideal pacing and formatting? Ah... and her age. It's only an estimate for those who find such information helpful. Perhaps I'll discard that detail. At any rate... thank you again. The feedback you've given me has proven useful.
  3. Hello @@Tealeaf. If I could be so privileged, I would like to apply for a review of my own character, Memory Lane. From someone as experienced as yourself, I'm sure to receive an insightful analysis. I've provided everything within the spoiler below. Please excuse my poor writing, it's only a rough draft really. Among everything else, I'm especially interested in your thoughts regarding her story. Depending on your input, I'll know how to proceed from here. No need to spare my feelings, I can endure what need be known. Thank you.
  4. I'm definitely a fan of the comic series. I think I own them all so far. I appreciate how it's not afraid to expand history and backstories. They were never gonna talk about King Sombra again in the show, but thanks to the comics, I have closure.
  5. Well for what my opinion is worth, I find Night Frost to be a very fine character. Unlike some characters, I can see her being bullied because she's of an uncommon race. Being a "Blank Flank" is only icing on that cake. If anything, I'm only disappointed her encounter with the Timberwolf didn't go anywhere. Since I knew she could tame mythical creatures, I half expected her to call upon it for help when she was attacked by the Manticore. Oh well... either way, well done.
  6. When it comes to Mario games, I avoid main characters and play as grunts instead. I'm always using Shy Guy or Dry Bones, or some other obscure dude.
  7. I disagree with the premise from which you've made your calculations. I still hold that Celestia and Luna were indeed born as Alicorns. During the season six premier, Celestia only commented saying, "The birth of an Alicorn is something Equestria has never seen". And Luna said, "It is beyond even our understanding". No previously established cannon has been broken here. Celestia and Luna were born Alicorns before the founding of Equestria by forces even they aren't aware of. My opinion, is that they were chosen by the cutie mark destiny system to govern the sun and moon. To do so, it's only logical to give them a lifespan at least equal to the lifespan of their respective Celestial bodies. As for every other pony, I think it's only reasonable to presume they live an average human lifespan.
  8. I originally thought that was going to be Starlight's thing. It sure would have made for a more interesting showdown.
  9. I didn't know nature in Equestria literally needed to be managed manually. The day and night cycle won't work on it's own, and neither will any weather? How does that make any sense?
  10. It's a good message to demonstrate we should try reforming the misguided, for they may yet become a force for good. Everyone deserves a second chance. My only problem is when it happens too quickly. It's unrealistic to expect a lifestyle change in a mere day. ...and it'd be nice if they admitted some people are simply beyond redemption. Especially by virtue of their own will.
  11. As far as they care to define Alicorn, Cadance and Twilight qualify. It's true though... Earth Pony magic isn't well represented, even among natural born Earth Ponies. That's something that's always bothered me. Why is it they never mention Earth Pony magic when talking about Alicorns? It's always about "earning your wings", as though that were everything. When Flurry Heart was born, I recall Pinkie Pie regarding her as a Unicorn and a Pegasus, but nothing else. They should really dedicate an episode to exploring more deeply every tribes magic.
  12. Yo, I'm all for this. Pokemon breeding is too tedious otherwise. Streamline away. You know what I think would be cool? (And probably broken) If Pokemon had an entirely alternate move set for their mega form. You'd actually have a reason NOT to mega evolve. They could even let you change back and forth. Why not? Yeah... it's understandable why this probably isn't gonna happen. But yeah, why is Frustration even a move then?
  13. Okay dude, I have a few questions for you. Question 1. What's up with Frigid Wind being so hostile? You said he "critically wounded" multiple ponies. That's pretty intense. What did he do exactly? And how is he not in prison? Question 2. Why would Frigid Wind's parents come up with this ridiculous plan to abandon him in a tundra instead of sending him to therapy? I understand he's a troublesome child, but that's kind of illegal. Question 3. How did Frigid Wind survive in the Frozen North? It's an unforgiving tundra up there. An ordinary pony wouldn't last longer than a day, let alone multiple years. Question 4. What's his cutie mark story? And shouldn't his special talent be more obvious? The symbol looks good, don't get me wrong, but I had no idea what it symbolized. Question 5. Why isn't he able to fly? Regarding his design, I'm cool with it. (No pun intended) Frigid Wind has potential, no doubt.
  14. Yeah, that's my point though. How can nobody else be good enough to replace the mane six? And I don't only mean as element bearers, but as a force against evil. You know what I mean? You'd think the military would step up their game.
  15. Based on her name, it's gonna be an frozen heart or something. She'll supposedly succeed Cadence and inherit the Crystal Empire. I wonder if there'll be a time skip or something. I don't know what else they can do with her now as a mere baby.
  16. Equestria has a pathetic military force. As proven in "The Cutie Re-mark", they're doomed to ruin without the mane six. It's unsettling really. Does the fate of their entire nation really depend on a mere six vigilantes? C'mon...
  17. What a silly question. One does not simply choose to believe in something. You have to be convinced. We already know how MLP came to be, so it's no use turning it into a religion. Nothing wrong with believing in it's message though.
  18. Yeah... you know what can I say? I agree. Everyone has the right idea here. Cheating / Hacking a game in single player is usually harmless. I have no objections if it'd be more fun to play that way, or lengthen it's lasting appeal. Cheating / Hacking in multiplayer; however, is obviously uncool. Motivations may vary, but if used competitively, you've defeated the purpose of even playing.
  19. While I am fond of children, I can say with confidence I'll never have any of my own. Traditional family life simply doesn't appeal to me.
  20. I'm sure the only reason they said Earth Ponies was to emphasize the spell being designed for use on non flying ponies. I doubt it's specifically tailored to only work on those wielding Earth Pony magic. Otherwise, wouldn't it have been out of the question to even consider using Rarity as a test subject? As far as we know anyway... Rarity is a full blooded Unicorn. Every member of her known family is a Unicorn as well. It's an interesting thing, isn't it? Apparently genetics affect the type of magic a pony can wield.
  21. Yeah... poorly defined time travel mechanics always screw with cannon. I believe the cutie mark destiny system is absolute. Or in other words, it's predetermined. So all you need to do is have an epiphany where you realize and or demonstrate your aptitude, and it's unlocked. According to the finale, surrounding circumstances are irrelevant. In the case of the CMC, I'd wager they had individual cutie marks planned. They all obviously have their own unique thing. I suspect the writers decided to instead give them a combined cutie mark as an excuse for them to maintain the whole crusading theme.
  22. Maybe then they'll be able to afford more diverse background characters instead of cloning and recoloring the same hoard.
  23. Oh gosh... please, I hope not. I'd like to think they're better than that, but it's plausible... I guess.
  24. We're supposed to ask about this character as a form of critique, right? I'm guessing you wanna develop him for role playing? He does have a profile in the character database after all. Well that's cool, but you know... we're running with some pretty questionable cannon here. I mean... c'mon, you already know how touchy Alicorn stuff can be. In my opinion, you ought to seriously weaken the Star Amulet. The ability to draw energy from every unclaimed star in the universe is way too broken. Why not instead say it absorbs solar energy from one sun? And maybe converts that to magic energy? On that note, why not make him a Unicorn to begin with? I mean... if he has to have a horn to use the Star Amulet anyway. Then you can completely avoid having to deal with an inadequate Alicorn origin story.
  25. I see. So this Star Amulet is powered by Solar Energy. Then... why the Alicorn thing? Why would he be transformed? What would happen if a non pony equipped it? Also, you know you can quote or mention, right?
