  1. Edit: Nevermind, I'm realizing it may not have been a good idea to post a picture of myself looking high as a kite lol
  2. The only shows I'm currently actively watching (besides MLP) are Breaking Bad, Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. I'm not caught up with a single one of them (which is why I'm still actively watching Breaking Bad!). My friends keep on trying to get me into other shows like Supernatural, Doctor Who, Weeds, other stuff I can't remember...but I'm the slowest person ever when it comes to watching things.
  3. They're so gross, girls should stay away from video games. Just the idea is...like, eww. Unless they're playing Cooking Mama, all girls better stay far away from my game stuffs. Yeah, nah, it's not a big deal. We can like things guys like, and it shouldn't be any more special or weird when we do I've been a pretty hardcore Mario fan all my life, just like my brother.
  4. Thanks guys! That Demi Lovato cover, yeah...definitely not my cup of tea! I finished that painting of Anna, got it to look a lot like the original oil painting. Super happy about that. I really have so much to learn when it comes to digital art, but it's still a lot of fun. It's a great alternative to oil painting when I don't have my supplies with me...although the actual, physical thing will always be best for me
  5. I'm trying to make an effort to be more of an active participant in the community, so I suppose I'll throw my skype up here too. If there's one thing I could really be, it's more social... jocelyn.suzuka
  6. I love the sound wood blocks make when they knock together, high heels or hard shoes walking, the sound of the word "clock", the tongue-click sound...I really like solid, sturdy, well-rounded sounds...if that makes sense?
  7. Gosh, sometimes I just love the ridiculous topics that you guys come up with on this site. Like...what?? Haha. If being a brony were illegal, I'd...keep calm and brony on, I suppose! I've never been a felon before, it'll be fun.
  8. That's cool! It looks like she's ready to tear someone up, haha.
  9. These are awesome I love the intensity in RD's face in the second one, you really got her expression well! I agree with the others that the rainboom is a bit too forceful in the first one, though. It's also farther away from the viewer than Rainbow, so should be lower in contrast/intensity and saturation than her to create the illusion of depth. It's a big circular rainbow so even if it's subdued it'll still draw attention, but moderating how much it gets would make the pic read a bit more clearly. I like the forms and coloring on the clouds though, and RD is painted well.
  10. Banned? I don't think so, I'm too lame and non-confrontational. I do remember trolling the Neopets forums pretty hard back when I was 12, though. But I think my account just got deleted from inactivity, not banned. Can't remember
  11. Thanks! It's a crazy catchy song, haha. The nose is kinda drastically red, isn't it? I suppose I think red noses are cute and I associate them with coldness, but I may have overdone it, lol. I've finished the pencil sketch for her sister, so I'm gonna color her now
  12. Hey, these are awesome! Your style is super elegant and beautiful, and I love how you give the unicorns more traditional tails. Keep up the amazing work
  13. Poor girl looks unsure of something, haha. This is super cute, you've got a distinctive style
  14. I have a stuffed rabbit named Mr. Poppet. He's a gray bunny with a ribbon around his neck.I love him cause he's one of the realistic looking plushes - you'd think he's a real rabbit on first glance. He's currently staying on my boyfriend's bed as my replacement while I'm away for a month.
  15. I have another art thread here, but that one only has school stuff, which is pretty different from this...so this one gets its own thread, I suppose. I couldn't get "Let it Go" outta my head, so I used it as inspiration to draw Elsa, lol. Did the sketch in pencil on a tiny sketchpad, then scanned it and colored it in GIMP. She was super fun to color. Every time I do something digitally I make it a point to state that I am definitely not used to working this way, but sooner or later I should stop using that excuse It's not feeling so unnatural or alien to me anymore. And I might as well post this other drawing I did of her too. This one I did a few weeks ago, it's done in crayola crayons (lol) on a canvas board. The picture is ugly and grainy cause I planned on taking a proper one when I finished it, but...well, never finished it. I have a great idea for a digital Anna drawing next, taking the exact pose, lighting and colors from this portrait I painted of a live model... http://fav.me/d70f2q4 So, fun stuffs to come
  16. I don't understand why, but I am totally fine with this.
  17. Thanks! The critique went awesome and I was finally able to install the big drawings (if only for a short time.) Having my face cover the entire wall was definitely amusing There are hand prints and footprints all over it, partially because I had to lay this thing on the floor while working on it and charcoal is hella messy. I figured, if I'm getting absolutely filthy drawing this thing (I looked like a coal miner), it would be dishonest for the drawing to come out nice and clean and pristine There's also other reasons for it, but yeah. The most random comment I got at crit was that I have really high arches, haha. It was funny, though - I had an entire other wall covered with a bunch of portraits and drawings I did in my Illustration minor - basically what I worked on the entire semester - but nobody even said a word about any of that! These two big drawings dominated the entire crit, lol. The people in the Fine Arts department sometimes act like they're "above" super-representational, realistic, faithful renderings, especially portraits. It's too "traditional" for them Oh, I also welded the stool too! It's like, four feet tall or something. It's covered with paint and charcoal and stuff cause I wanted it to look like the billions of dirty, paint=smeared stools that are around my school. It makes a pretty decent table!
  18. This is good. Hah, you got his goofy smirk down
  19. I just feel like throwing the highlights I've done this semester up on here, cause I'm really proud of some of it Life drawing/live model stuff...These are done in either charcoal or oils. This and the pic in my avatar were for a sophomore level Illustration course...(I've reached the image maximum so my avatar will have to do!) They are both painted in oils. And then there are these! Which I'm most excited for. They're both charcoal on gessoed canvas. This first one is 8 feet tall. When I finished, I realized that wasn't big enough... So then, I did this... Gessoing this thing was a...delight. This is so big, there's only one studio wall in my entire school that's long enough to work on it. And then, of course a foundation drawing professor set up a still life on that one wall in the entire school, and claimed it for almost a month...A still life that could easily have fit on any other wall...But I digress. I had to work on the floor, since the wall was taken. But that led to some really cool discoveries, which ended up really making the drawing. I've since finished it, but it's so long that I can't take any pictures of it in its entirety without the pictures turning out warped and crappy - I need to wait for that stupid wall to be open. But here's a preview of it... These last two drawings are pretty personal - I'm a small (4'9") person, super quiet, shy and diminutive. My presence is often not noticed or it's overlooked. Or, sometimes I purposely hide it (my presence) because...I'm stupid, I guess So I wanted to create artwork that is the opposite of how people may see me (or how I assume people see me!) - large, powerful, visually dominating, striking. Deliberate and attention-grabbing. They're also self portraits too, so...yeah. That's it for now I'll probably come back later with a photo of the big one, I have to wait until the 18th or 19th to install it for final crit.
  20. I generally get annoyed with ears. People ears, I mean. I can draw them pretty easily, but still. Just drawing them irritates me, for some crazy reason.
  21. I found these at Five Below, and got Princess Luna, Hoity Toity and metallic Pinkie. Think these are a pretty good deal - they make cool keychains and some of the stickers that come with them are awesome. My boyfriend opened a pack with the Wonderbolts sticker and loved it so much he claimed it for his Xbox (and he isn't a brony!)
  22. I feel like a lot of cashiers have already heard the "it's for my sister/niece/daughter/etc." excuse. If you're too nervous to admit to it, then I think a better excuse would be "it's for my brother/friend/etc. that's into this pony thing but is too embarrassed to buy it himself."
  23. I love these things. I kinda went crazy looking for them when they first came out in my area. I've got the whole set now, with doubles of AJ and Flutershy (got four of her...). I traded an extra Pinkie for a Rarity on the MLPArena, though. Did not want to spend more money looking for Rarity and just getting more Fluttershys :'D The eyes in these pictures is a bit off - in the pics they look like they'd be derp-eyed, but in life their pupils are pointing in the right place (centered / slightly upward). Also...
  24. The way I see it, the boss asked the guy to stop with the pony stuff cause he thought it was weird. That's pretty annoying and stupid generalizing, but it's his boss. But then, not only does he continue with the pony stuff (directly going against what the boss asked of him) he does so by mentioning it to none other than the boss' daughter. The guy was already uncomfortable with it, but then it's brought up with his daughter involved? I wouldn't be surprised if that set off major warning signs for him. This brony surely didn't mean anything, he was probably just innocently trying to spread love for ponies, or at least defend his own right to it. But when the boss asks you to drop a subject, you really should not bring it up with his daughter. And he mentions that he mostly kept to himself. It's easier for people to question you when you are anti social and don't really open up to anyone. Poor guy probably just likes to keep to himself, but people will read into that and take any 'weird' signals they may get and run with it. It sucks, but I'm a super shy person myself and it's something I deal with. And I apologize if this doesn't make sense or sounds like rambling, I'm trying to type this on my phone and it is not an enjoyable experience.
