Half Japanese, a fourth Australian, and then the remaining fourth is some crazy Anglican mix of things I can't remember well...Mostly German, I think. I'm a mutt!

Yeah, I had a feeling that if you did any kind of sewing, knitting, etc., it went to being an anime fan. Which...is kinda stupid. I like to sew and make little craftsy stuffs, but I don't really like anime

Your Result: Artistic Nerd Whether it's painting, sewing, drawing, arts and crafts; or just splashing paint onto a canvas and calling it art; you mostly fit this description. Lots of people envy the artists, but be humble and keep working on it. There is a shortage of true artists today who actually contribute anything to society. Result Breakdown: 90% Artistic Nerd 61% Literature Nerd 51% Social Nerd 42% Musician 39% Gamer/Computer Nerd 34% Drama Nerd 30% Anime Nerd 7% Science/Math Nerd Hah, not surprising in the least, since I go to art school! I'm totally one of those crazy right-brain thinker weirdos.

Anypony here not like being called a brony/pegasister?
Powderpuff replied to Tollhouse's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I don't really like being referred to as a brony and a pegasister. Unless it's by someone with very little knowledge of the fandom, who may have just heard of bronies as people who like that new My Little Pony show. In those situations I feel it's a little silly to go and say "well technically I'm not a brony because I feel yadda yadda..." and go into inner-fandom rants that they probably won't care about and would just make me look incredibly nerdy :'D But from the beginning I never felt that I fit in with the brony crowd, especially since I couldn't...really care less about the fandom. I actually dislike a lot more of the fandom than I like, but hey that's kinda me with every fandom out there. I make pony drawings on my own sometimes, but those are for me. The only interaction I have with the fandom is through the very little I post on here, and another much smaller forum that I help admin. I lurk on the My Little Pony Arena far more, but most of the people there have been pony fans for years and years, and they generally call themselves MLP collectors or fans, rather than going with a brony label. And I do find it silly, having a need to create a super-special and cool name for people...that just watch My Little Pony. It's like...silly :'D I often find that with shows, books, movies, etc., that I enjoy, I end up much more happier when I'm enjoying it at my own pace alone or with friends rather than this big 'fandom' entity -
That is a rather lovely Moonstone! I'm not sure if it's the lighting or not, but there may be a slight head/body mismatch in the color of the plastic. But if not, I'd say she's quite a mint-y pony Even if there is a color mismatch, it doesn't seem to be drastic or obvious anyway. Her hair looks really lovely! It's crazy to think that a toy pony can have such nice hair after 30 years.

Sorry, I misvoted - meant for "meh", clicked bad instead! You really got the personality and shape of Big Mac well, in a pleasingly simple way. But there are little problems - his neck/head (everything above that brown thingy he wears) feels detached from the rest of the body - if it were moved over to the right so his neck closer to being above the front leg, that would fix it. His body also seems long too, but moving the neck/head over would eliminate that problem I know it's not something you can really fix for this drawing in particular, but maybe just something to keep in mind for the future?

Respect, and not just for me. Just being a respectful person. Friendliness. Open mindedness. A sense of responsibility. No troubles like drugs, alcoholism, etc. (I had an ex that was like this, not doing it again.) Also - not wealth, but financial responsibility. And being funny doesn't hurt That's generally what I value at this point. Not just appearance - I kinda just went with appearance with aforementioned druggie, and...yeah... But I haven't had much experience dating, so I don't really quite know everything that I look for in a guy or what I would want to avoid. I don't know what I don't know!

Whats the most trouble you have gotten in school?
Powderpuff replied to ~Sugar Sprinkles~'s topic in General Discussion
The only time I can remember actually getting in trouble was in sixth grade, when one of the teachers caught me and my friends on funnyjunk.com and pretended to call the principal on us with a walkie-talkie :'D He scared me so much I didn't go on funnyjunk again until like, 2011. That was the day I learned what browsing history was, haha. Same year, my friends and I got into a number of fights with this other group of girls, the "bad girls". The new girl had joined our inner circle, but she was kinda wild so I think she really somehow made enemies out of the other group. So, yeah, that was actually a really fun year :'D Okay, and this last one isn't really me getting in trouble with the school, but getting in trouble with a very...mentally unhinged teacher that was getting crazier and crazier o.O It's not exactly on topic, but I'm bored and feel like telling this wonderful story anyway, haha. I was really very good at art and was pretty involved in the school's art community, and one of the art teachers absolutely loved me. I had been in her classes all throughout high school. Since she had helped me so much, I asked her to write a letter of recommendation for me for some scholarships. She did, gladly. But, she refused to give it to me. She insisted that she mail it off herself, that that's the way she's been doing it for years. However, the registrar absolutely told me that I must hand it in with the applications so I told that to art teacher, who refused and got angry. I tried to go back and forth between them (for some reason the registrar didn't think it was important enough for her to contact the teacher directly), and art teacher got angrier and angrier with me. It got really close to the due date, and I begged to some of my other teachers for a letter of rec literally in tears because I really needed these scholarships and I didn't understand why she was so mad at me. I felt really bad for putting that on them, and none of them were able to write one because there wasn't enough time. Crazy art teacher then exploded and started calling me all these names, insisted I was being rude, arrogant, stubborn, idiotic. And that I thought I was so talented that the rules didn't apply to me. I had no idea where any of this came from, but it really hurt because I always try my best to be polite, kind and respectful. Eventually I went to the assistant principal (who was also my 10th grade english teacher), and she was amazing and wonderful enough to write the letter for me, in half a day! And then I quickly moved out of crazy art teacher's class and tried my best to avoid her cause she was really scaring me. She really took this whole stupid letter of recommendation mess personally. Later that year, I went to a gallery opening with my parents and grandparents, and she was there. And she stalked me, then confronted me in front of my family...Everyone's said for years that she was a little unhinged, but man that terrified me. But I think she actually quit teaching the semester right after that whole mess. She must have had some actual mental problems, I think... -
What is or was your favorite subjects in school?
Powderpuff replied to Nah's topic in General Discussion
In high school I was very good at English, History, and art. I was in AP classes for all three of them (had 5 AP classes total in senior year alone), and I even got a 5 on the AP English test Of course the college I went to did not even take that into consideration and shoved me in the regular english class. Didn't even count aany of that credit, while it took the credits I got from my 4 on the AP US Gov test and 5 on the AP Studi Art portfolio...Still bitter about that. But anyway! Yeah, I just really, really suck at math-y and science-y classes, but I really excel in Arts, Literature/Writing and History.- 259 replies

I'm in a rather serious relationship right now, and he found out about me liking My Little Pony soon after we started dating. I gave him my deviantart account name, and he asked what was up with the ponies So I told him, and he was skeptical but actually gave the show a try. Now he likes the show, but he still doesn't really like bronies. I don't think my liking MLP has directly affected my being in a relationship, but him giving it a try shows that he's willing to accept strange little quirks and still love me for who I am.

How do you feel when you're buying MLP stuff in a shop?
Powderpuff replied to Szmeszek's topic in Merchandise
I used to be pretty embarrassed buying pony toys, cause I thought it was stupid that I wanted them in the first place and I was usually with my mom in the store. But she thinks its cute and my brother stopped mocking me for it. And I honestly don't care anymore I've bought so many that I have completely lost all paranoia or embarrassment now. And now I'm collecting Monster Highs as well, so yeah no shame Besides, I'm a very young-looking girl, so I don't really get much unwanted attention anyway. I've gotten some interesting responses from cashiers, though. One lady at TRU who must have recognized me asked me if the collection was complete yet. Another woman at Kmart went on about how cute the pony I was buying was, and told me all about how MLP has been around for more than 30 years, and her daughter collected it back then. And just this past weekend I finally bought Zecora, and the woman ringing me up talked about how cool that pony was, and that MLP was probably trying to compete against Monster High. I haven't had any actual bad experiences shopping for pony toys, actually I know this isn't really my buying experience, but I did ring up a brony once when I was very, very briefly working at Toys R Us. He was buying one of those mini three packs and just looked so gosh-darn proud, the way he slammed them down on the counter! :'D I asked him if he was a brony, and we had a short little convo about the show. He seemed surprised I was in the know, but very willing to talk about pony. I wish I had told him that the FYE nearby had the other set that we didn't have at the time, but I assume he's found it by now -
I've been working on a pony plush pattern for...an embarrassingly long time. At least a year and a half! Mostly because I'm rather lazy with it, as I'm handsewing it all. I came up with the pattern completely from scratch, and it's kinda frustrating to spend all that time drafting, then spend 7+ hours to test out your pattern (on just a head), see all these problems, change it then spend another 7+ hours, when you will doubtless see another problem...yeah I'm slow :'D Here's what I've got so far, although this picture is missing the hair that I added recently. She's gonna be G1 Wind Whistler, so I tried to kinda make her a mix between G1 and G4 (although, she;s really leaning toward G4). Despite my whining about all the time it takes, I really am very fond of her And, I've done a couple ponies in polymer clay. I don't really wanna paint them though. Applebloom was my first, but unfortunately she's broken apart now. Lost almost all her limbs

Oh, I styled my ponies' hair to be 'show accurate' back in 2011, and they're mostly still holding shape I had the main six and a few of the others done, but I only seem to have pictures of a few of them. And this isn't G4, but I found this poor girl at Goodwill. She went from this... ...to this. (still wet at this time, apparently I don't have a pic of it dry.)

Crazy cute, I love it And I love the gradient you got in her mane and tail! It's always nice to see people still using pencil and paper

What languages do you know or want to learn?
Powderpuff replied to Mint Petal's topic in General Discussion
I speak Spanish, but not well. Took six years of it in high school. My boyfriend is Puerto Rican, so I can understand most of what he and his family say to each other...I just sure as heck won't participate! Too much of an embarrassment, me coming in with my very American/Minnesotan spanish :'D I really want to learn Japanese, though. not because of Anime, but because I was born in Japan, and am half Japanese. It hurts to think that most anime fans know more Japanese than I do. I kinda struggle with my racial identity, and it's upsetting to me, how much I've lost through being Americanized. By blood I'm just as Japanese as I am American... -
1. Applejack and Rarity - there is just no way I could choose between these two. I simply adore them both! 3. Fluttershy 4. Rainbow Dash 5. Twilight 6. Pinkie Pie. Back in the end of Season 1 or beginning of season 2, Pinkie Pie would have been up at #3 or maybe even wrestling AJ and Rarity at an obnoxious three-way tie for first, but she's really dropped in my list, especially with this last season. I felt like she used to tread that line between hilarious and obnoxious wonderfully, and I really grew to love her during Party of One. But she is just unbearable recently, I just find myself wishing she would just go away. Fluttershy, Rainbow and Twilight have rather fluid, shifting positions for me, but at the moment that's how I rank them. Applejack was my absolute favorite from the start, but Rarity charmed me in Season 1 and completely blew me away in Season 2. I really do like them all (except Pinkie Pie, but hopefully they'll write her less annoyingly next season), but Rarity and AJ are way above the others

Do you like ponies more than people?
Powderpuff replied to TailsIsNotAlone's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I get kind of confused by this. Ponies are modeled after people, and ponies can be rude and mean too. I know there were examples of ponies being outright jerks, I think Putting your Hoof Down had this if I recall correctly. But I think ponies are just like people personality-wise, with all the good and bad shoved together - just a little simpler because they're in a kids' show. And ponies are cute and they can fly and do other fun stuff, but I just love people far more. I'm a portrait artist, and I just love how incredibly varied and unique each and every person is. I love capturing a person's individual, unique selves in art, and there's very little variation in ponies. At least in the art style they're drawn in (which I can understand the practical reasons for). But yeah, people are far more interesting to me. -
Does anypony even like the old generations?
Powderpuff replied to Zach TheDane's topic in Classic Generations
One thing I've really noticed that's different about bronies and general/old gen pony fans, is that when bronies say My Little Pony, they're only talking about the shows. But the show was never really an important part of the MLP franchise until FiM. It's the toys that really made a name for themselves, and the toys that snuck their ways into little girls' hearts. The shows were basically commercials to sell plastic equines, and it was a very, very, very small part of what the entire franchise was about. I can see how bronies only look at the shows, though, since G4 basically did something completely and totally new for the franchise - it shifted the perspective completely from the toys to the television show. I'm not trying to say that really seeing the franchise through the shows is a bad thing, It's just a difference in perspective that I always get a bit confused about. I love the old gen toys. And when I start looking at MLP from a toyline perspective, I actually like G1 and G3 better than G4, because they had variety and they were of better quality, and I find them much more aesthetically pleasing. And I don't have to try too hard to explain how they are ponies But I'm not as fond of G2 and 3.5, for aesthetic reasons, however I think I can easily warm up to G2 - I've got a few of them kicking around here. But if I'm watching the shows, eh I'll admit there just isn't that level of quality that G4 introduced. I've only actually watched G1 and some G3, and G1 was charming in its own (very dated) way, but I do love the G4 show much more.- 193 replies

How old do you have to be to become a brony?
Powderpuff replied to 14griffin's topic in Sugarcube Corner
A five year old boy I've been working with for quite a few years had a very long discussion with me about My Little Pony, and he wasn't talking about just canon thins - he was mentioning "Derpy Muffin" and DJ Pony and other more fan-focused things (all age appropriate). Obviously influenced by an older sibling, but I consider him the youngest brony I've met, because he is knowledgeable of the fan content, in addition to loving the show. Sadly, that day was the last time I saw him; he went on to kindergarten. I will miss that little guy! He called himself Big Mac. -
How Important is Height for a Woman?
Powderpuff replied to CastletonSnob's topic in General Discussion
Don't let shortness be an such an obstacle! I know it's a totally different ballgame for guys than it is for girls, but I understand being super shorter than most - I'm 4'9" and the same age as you. I used to hate my height, and would always talk about how I wished I were one of those really tall women. But I've grown to love my shortness, cause it's just a part of me and I think I love me and wouldn't change myself for anything I've been thinking, though. I wonder how much our physical selves influence our mental selves. Having to literally look up to almost everyone I see must have had some kind of psychological effect, even if it's a very small and subconscious one. It's a completely different physical perspective. So uh anyway, to me height doesn't matter at all. I don't think I would ever have to worry about finding someone shorter than me though, and I've also dated a human skyscraper before as well. But there are plenty of women around your height, and I'll bet many of them couldn't give a hoot about how tall you are. And try not to focus on what you think are the negative aspects about yourself, I'm sure there are good things that you just don't know about, or don't think are important. Just try to be you, and be proud of you because you are your own unique person and someone is bound to see that. edited for grammar... -
I moved thousands of miles away to get away from my family, and I've had great, amazing friends that I would consider some of the greatest people I've met...yet I think I think I still choose family. And mine's about to be broken apart, and my mom will very soon move to the other side of the world...I think sometimes it takes something like that to realize how much something means to you.
