  1. Hm, I suppose I'll join too. This thread is interesting, since I just assume everyone's a guy on the internet The first taken in the summer, the second in the winter...the difference is obvious :'D
  2. My first game was Super Mario 64. I still remember the night we got it and the N64. I don't think I ever beat it though, but of course my brother did (maybe my mom did too). I never got into video games as much as my brother, though. He disdainfully calls me a casual gamer :'D Though I can totally beat him in Mario Kart Wii! And am far more kickass than him at Tetris, which was probably another one of our very first games.
  3. Another girl, '92, with my favorite color being green. Nothing...really surprised me with this :'D I expected the huge male majority, for sure.
  4. I haven't been to any sort of convention ever, but a few friends and I have gone to two local brony meetups, which were really..underwhelming. They were at the Mall of America though, so we just ended up leaving the group and having fun in the mall on our own both times. So I haven't been impressed with meetups, though I think I would like to try to go to a convention! It seems like there'd be much more focus and pony-related stuffs to do. It's annoying though, because my college is around the areas where they have BroNYcon, but they only have the convention when I'm on break and not here xD Some day...
  5. The first time I bought FiM merch, I got normal Applejack and Rarity figures. Applejack is my favorite, and Rarity is my brother's favorite. He was the one that got me into the show, so I got the most fabulous pony for him. He liked it, and asked me to style her hair. I've been giving him other ponies since - my extra Cheerilee and Sweetie Belle, blindbags of the main six, a Spike figure. Another one, there was an acquaintance of mine back at high school who was a proud brony. I had one of those translucent Rainbow Dash keychains, and he admired it but didn't know where to get one. When I moved to Philadelphia for college though, I found a whole bunch within walking distance, so I sent one to him. I also sent my brother a Rainbow and Pinkie as well, and one of my best friends a Rainbow. And, last year, someone on the MLPArena was going to Comic Con and was offering to buy SDCC Derpies for people at retail price plus shipping. She randomly selected a number of people for that, and I was one of them. But the first few days seemed really tough for her and I didn't think she would be able to get enough. I mentioned this to my boyfriend, who just *happened* to have an old friend that works with the hotel at SDCC and has connections there. So he phoned her, and the next day she had one of her minions pick up a Derpy for me. But it just so happened that the person at the Arena got a Derpy for me as well, so I ended up giving that one to my best friend - the one with the Rainbow Dash keychain She absolutely loved it. I didn't necessarily give these ponies away, but that same friend and another are currently 'babysitting' some of my Fashion Style ponies while I'm away at college. Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash and Cadence are currently keeping Derpy company with Friend #1, while Friend #2 has Shining Armor and Twilight (the leftovers from Friend #1, who let her have them because she didn't like Twilight's eyes and Shining Armor's funky mane). And lastly, I've given my boyfriend a Twilight figure and a Spike. He likes them, but he's hiding them from his judgmental family :')
  6. I'm not diabetic, but my mom is a type 1 diabetic and it runs very strong in her family. She thinks it's just a matter of time before I am diagnosed with diabetes, too. I hope that doesn't happen! It's caused her so many problems - just recently she had fiber neuropathy all along her hands, lower torso, legs and feet (coupled with lymes disease, coincidental and unfortunate timing). She could barely walk and everything from laying down to eating was painful. Thankfully they were able to zero in on the problem and find the right solution, so it's better now. She really does a very good job of making sure she's eating the right stuff, counting units and all that, getting exercise, but things still creep up.
  7. I don't really "live a double life", there's not much need for me to. I don't go around telling people that I watch and collect MLP and spout FiM references, but I will talk about it if the topic is brought up. I used to be really nervous and didn't want anyone to really know about it, but I realized nobody really cared. People actually thought it was cute that I like My Little Pony :'D It does help that I am a really small, short female, though. But yeah, I did kind of live a double life for the first month or two, but that quickly went away and I don't really care about who knows, and so far I have not gotten any negative reactions.
  8. You did a really good job! The lines are very clean and clear, and you've got her shapes and proportions well Maybe what seems off with the eyes is that they're a bit too small? Or I think the issue is with the one on our right - it seems a bit high, and small.
  9. Nah, pop is awesome. Raised in Minnesota, that's how we said it there. People here in the east look at me funny for saying pop, but they just don't know.
  10. Painting a really sloppy still life :'D Behind a very good glass of wine that I'm pretending isn't mine.
  11. I think I would have loved it being a surprise, just because I would have freaked out so bad! I wish it was a huge shock. I'm already completely indifferent on the whole Twilicorn deal, so it probably wouldn't change my actual opinion on her becoming a princess, but I would have had more fun with a surprise.
  12. I feel like it used to be Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy, but now more people I know IRL are diehard Rainbow fans. I think I only know one other person besides me who likes Rarity, and she's a fashion major! :'D
  13. Thank you both very much! Hm, I'd say about three to six hours, with these ones in particular leaning more towards six. My first ones had more general, simple shading, but recently I'm trying to get more specific with the lighting, so more time's being put into them
  14. A True, True Friend. It pretty much encapsulates everything the show stands for, and it's really heartwarming and beautiful. Not to mention catchy as hell!
  15. I gotta go with Tank! He's precious, and he reminds me of the little tortoise I had And I just love his relationship with Rainbow, they're just too cute.
  16. I would like to see Applejack become an alicorn. Just because she would hate that. She'd have to dress up all frou-frou for parties and shizz.
  17. Oh, the Aurora plushes are crazy adorable! The mini Rarity plush in the little bag just about killed me, I definitely know that I'll be getting her and maybe tiny AJ. And yeah, Rarity and AJ are usually the last because they are probably the least favorite of the main six I can't get over the fact that the Funko Pop! figure lineup is an edited version of the main six: Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, DJ P0n3 and Derpy. Like, seriously??
  18. She's timid and shy, which gives lots of bronies something to relate to on a personal level. But I think guys would feel like they'd be able to comfort her, nurture her, protect her and help build her confidence up. So I see why she's a rather popular adorable character, she's appealing on different levels And, her voice is so soft, smooth and soothing. That's gotta help. However, she's probably my least favorite of the main cast. Mostly because of the blandness and inconsistency that others have mentioned. But least favorite doesn't mean I don't like her! Love them all, just some a little less than others.
  19. Kinda. I watched all the way up to A Dog and Pony Show, because that's as far as it had gotten at that time. I loved being able to run through all that though, and got annoyed that after that point I had to *wait*! How cruel.
  20. They've got really cute faces! Although I am a little sick of them pushing these two so much. I sure hope they come out with Applejack or Rarity. Naturally my two favorite often get the short end of the stick when it comes to merch :')
  21. I wish that bronies would be more mindful and respectful that they are guests in the My Little Pony fanbase, and that they would keep in mind that ultimately the show is not made for them. The entitlement I see some bronies owning is astounding. As much as we like the show, it will never be *our* show. Don't try to make demands based on what the bronies want, with the target audience only being an afterthought (only brought up if what they would want aligns with what the bronies want). Also, more of a personal, minor complaint. But it does annoy me how many bronies go on about the toys not being "show accurate". Fun fact, but did you know Hasbro's a toy company? The toys come first to them, so I guess technically the show isn't "toy accurate" :'D
  22. I've always been really rather mellow, so I really don't ever have a bad temper. Maybe if I get super, super overstressed though, I either whine a lot or completely shut down. But I rarely ever get seriously angry, definitely never in a physical way. Mostly because I find a lot of the bad things that happen to me bemusing or hilarious in a "hahaha, I can't believe I got so utterly screwed like that!" way :'D
  23. I can't think of very many specific instances...mostly I get 13-15 year old boys hitting on me, because I look like I'm about that age (I'm 20). But I think that's why I've gotten by fine so far - most guys would think I'm too young to be a possibility :') I so sometimes get catcalls by the, erm, less "safe"-looking people, when I'm walking out on my own past dark. So I try my best to get what I need to get done before 5.
  24. I wasn't gonna post cause I didn't know if I could word it right, but you've prompted me to :'D I basically agree with everything Batbrony said. Rainbow's voice is cute and spunky - she picks things up in At the gala in a really great way. However. I don't know much about professional singing or anything, I was never in choir, but Rarity really sounds much more professional, mature, and refined. Rainbow can carry a melody and still sound like Rainbow, but Rarity does that and makes it amazing. She really takes it to another far more refined level.
