Regarding "Derpygate" (that is a really bad name btw) I have no qualms with them changing her voice, eyes, and name. It doesn't add or detract anything from the character. What I thought was bad about the whole thing was Rainbows line change. It goes from someone being exasperated that a known cluts is messing up again but is still being civil because it is the right thing to do. TO Treating someone who is a known cluts as someone who does have a mental disability. The first rainbow just sounds annoyed, which fits with her character because she is a short tempered and brash pony. The new rainbow sounds like she is treating someone who has a disability with the calm, nice, and collected politeness you are supposed to give to the disabled. Every teacher, instructor, supervisor, coach, and disabled person I have talked to says that you just need to treat the disabled like a normal person. If you intentionally censor yourself and go out of your way to be polite and nice to someone, that isnt being normal. That is saying "Oh I know you have a disability so I should make it a huge deal by putting on a fake smile and fake emotions and fake voice just for you. Does that make you feel alienated and an outsider?" If they had just redone all of Derpys voice and animation I would be fine. But the fact that they make rainbow sound fake really pissed me off. They shouldn't have done anything to begin with, but that personally pissed me off.

Season 4 was dark enough for me. However, what I do want is more long lasting effect episodes. Cutie mark crusaders break up and don't reunite until 5 episodes later or something.

I'm just going to jump on in and say I might label myself as a "negative" member of the community. However, it is hardly the shows fault, it is my own fault and the communities fault. I personally feel that the community has lost a lot of its creativity and uniqueness. Where are all the Jackleapps, Livingtombstones, and other great musicians who started out? The only musician I can think of who has released a song recently is Aviators, and that was one from Equestria Girls. It seems like nothing new is coming out of the fandom. It's just people talking about trivial things and waiting for the next season to start. Now I understand part of that is because we are in-between seasons, but it still feels like there is a lack of new stuff happening within the fandom and it bothers me a little. One critique I have especially against this forum is the trivial things we are talking about. "Can twilight do a twilight version of the sonic rainboom?" "Could celestia defeat Superman in a fight?" "What are the differences between alicorn and pegasi wings." Now this is my negative side talking. Who cares... it doesn't matter if she can do a sonic twilightboom, superman doesn't exist in this universe, and why should it matter that they are different, which they arent. They are both made out of feathers and help them fly. I have barely watched this place as of late because NOTHING NEW HAPPENS. There are no new conversations of value, there are no new songs, no new projects being done, and to be honest, I feel like I am becoming too negative and unfun for this place. I am starting to feel embarrassed again by being a brony. Please prove me wrong and show me that the creative side of the community is just as alive as it has always been and that I really am just being an old fogey and need to lighten up.

No. Rainbow dash is famous for being able to do the sonic rainboom. Twilight was able to do a twiboom because she had more power/magic than any pony in existence while doing it OR as others said she had accidentally cast a spell mid-flight. Celestia could probably do one with magic, but not form flying so fast she breaks the sound barrier.

Yup. It shows how bored we are here with no new information to tide us over. We keep rehashing the same old questions, talking about pointless/useless topics, or just bringing back old threads. With the way the writing of this show is going I wouldn't be surprised if we get 1 or two more main character. I wont like it, but it will happen.

The show is just an escape from the rest of the world.

The show would be less inside jokes and the franchise wouldn't have succeed as much.

That I could understand, adopting or becoming like a godparent to someone elses children. I don't know, just something about pinkie pie and her own children doesn't connect with me.

I wouldn't want all of them to have kids. Applejack, rarity, and fluttershy since they are motherly. Rainbowdash wouldn't have the time to slow down and think about those things. Twilight maybe, but just one. Pinkie pie I don't think would have children either. But It would be cute to see some of them have children way in the future, but not all of them, and not during the timeline of the show. Maybe as an epilogue.

Twilight. It might be because I am biased since my favorite brony songs are hers that have been changed slightly, but Twilights singing just does it for me. Otherwise it would have to be pinkie pie. Rainbow dash and apple jack sound too much like their characters for me to take it seriously. Fluttershy can sing well, but then you have moments like when she discovered the ground for the first time. There are some interesting notes in that song... : / Rarity just sounds too regal and (dont kill me ghost) snobbish to appreciate her singing.

Sorry to ruin some of the mystery of it, but gems actually do have a taste. There are a few ways to see which rock is which mineral/element/gem. Taste is one of those ways. Some are tasteless, some taste god awful, but each is a different taste. So some might taste like the things you guys have said, but most are just tasteless or taste as someone else said, like dirt.

I don't think it is that easy. Just because Pegasus have wings it doesn't make them an earthpony with wings. Pegasus also have some kind of magic associated with them that allow them to manipulate weather and walk on clouds. The rest of the mane six other than rainbow and fluttershy had to take a potion to get up there (except rarity but she looked so weird). So I think just because you can make yourself look like something doesn't necessarily make you that thing.

If they replaced fluttershy, it most likely would have mean that the voice actress is leaving or something. That would mean both fluttershy and pinkie pie would be replaced which would destroy the fandom. She is safe. While I agree with you, those be fighting words for many people.
