  1. If you don't like them, then don't buy them. I don't know what sitting around and bitching about it is going to accomplish. Hasbro is company and no matter what your arguement, they're going to continue their business in however they see fit. I don't see millions of little girls begging and hoping for a Derpy or a Vinyl Scratch brushable, yet Hasbro is sticking them out there, so it's pretty rude to pretend the company is ignoring it's weirder, not-so-targeted audience. Anyway, I like them. Have 7 of my own with 2 more on the way and plans for a few more. No one's forcing me or anyone else to buy them.
  2. Whenever I hear people bitch and moan about how terrible the artwork was on the original ponies, all I can do is roll my eyes and write them off as a kid. The original artwork for the ponies, is NOT terrible for the time it was being made. Go look at any 80's cartoon-Care Bears, He-Man, Jem, and you'll see that this was just the art style of the days, what was common, expected and able to be done. It doesn't make it terrible. It makes it fitting for the times. Just as I also roll my eyes when people say the old MLP was too girly and childish...right, because devilish centaurs, youth-sucking witches and heartless rock dogs that turn living things into stone are SO much girlier and innocent than baby-sitting adventures, fashion show mishaps and Valentine Day love troubles (*ahem* all episodes from FiM). Get over yourselves bronies, FiM may have some awesome badassery, but don't pretend that a majority of the episodes aren't actually still aimed for a toddler audience and the animation isn't just like every other simplistic flat cartoon out there. Edit: And to those who keep quoting My Little Pony Tales as G2...stop. Just stop. There was no G2 cartoon, only a couple video games and a toy line that didn't do too particularly well because the pony design was so different from the previous style. MLPT is still G1.
  3. Not the best episode to judge the entire series by. They can't all be gems, especially the later episodes from G1. Try watching some of the earlier ones, including the pilot which has, who I consider, the most evil villain of all the MLP generations. Don't be so quick to dismiss it as "freakin' stupid stuff" before you even know what you're talking about.
  4. Tirek, without a doubt. Just look at him and it's obvious he's practically the Devil himself. Wishes to plunge the world into darkness and chaos, threatens actual violence (beheading), turns ponies into dragons, slavery...However, personally speaking I also find Somnambula to be pretty terrifying, sucking the youth from the ponies in order to fuel her own life and stealing the magic from the unicorns. The fact that she only needed a single bird in which to aid her, rather than an entire army like most, also proves she's pretty darn powerful.
  5. Yay, can finally update with my fully rendered personal pony. Turns out the name Inkling did stick and her cutie mark was at last discovered. Here she be, much better depicted than my previous post, my pretty twinkle eyed unicorn:
  6. I don't like it simply because I think it sounds stupid. But then, I think the term 'brony' sounds pretty stupid too, and prefer it even less than Pegasister as it (no matter what people say), pegs the person as automatically male, which I find really annoying. Like, guys are so insecure to call themselves a MLP fan they have to give themself a nickname? And Pegasister is just an equally annoying sounding offshoot of that that insecurity. I'm not ashamed that I like My Little Pony. I'm a fan. There. See how simple?
  7. Love her She absolutely ties as my favorite pony with AJ (currently she's winning, but in a week it'll be AJ again, and then Rarity, etc.), and I see a lot of my own personality in her. I think she gets a bad rap because she is so classicly feminine and with the fanbase being largely male it is difficult for a good number to relate to her (which explains why Rainbow has such a huge fanbase among bronies). But that's just my theory.
  8. Here she is. Sadly she has neither a name nor a cutie mark yet. I sort of like her without a cutie mark just yet however, for as she is based somewhat on myself, I too feel as though I don't know what my super special "talent" is, or where my passions fall in life. As for her name, I have been contemplating Inkling or something of that nature, but I'm still deciding.
  9. I also don't quite understand the desire. True, I did tell my sister about it, though it wasn't really a huge shocker or anything as I've loved ponies since I was little, and the main reason I "formally" told her is because I wanted her to watch it with me. We've lived together the past 4 years and share a lot of our dorky interests, so when one of us becomes immersed in a new series or hobby, it's pretty usual to tell the other about it. But as for my friends? Um...I just don't see the point. I know them well enough to know their general tastes in television and movies and I know ponies aren't up their alley, just like a lot of things I watch. It's no big deal. Our friendship isn't so shallow that we'll have nothing to talk about if I don't bring up ponies, so it's just something I keep to myself for the most part. I'm not "hiding" it, they can plain well see my pony collection in my room, but it's not something I'm aching to discuss 24/7 either.
  10. Yep. I remember the ponies with fondness as I used to love them growing up. Especially the movie, and I hope own all the episodes and the movie on DvD someday. Though, this is G1 we're talking about (which...I don't understand how more people didn't watch/know about them, I'm only 23 for goodness sake). I wasn't quite on top of things when G3 came out as I didn't have the channel that aired the show, though I doubt it would have appealed to me much as I severely dislike the way Spike had been altered.
  11. I'm really not a fan of the whole 3D animated look. I used to love Care Bears almost as much as MLP when I was younger, and the new style of animation for the ponies put me off for a whole year. I don't think I could stand to sit through the new Care Bears series, it looks just as awkward as the Winnie the Pooh animation Disney uses...which also sort of ruins a a cartoon series that is very dear to my heart.
  12. Hmmm...I think my earliest memories were back around 1st grade, maybe before, and going to my Gramma's house after school and wondering which episode of MLP she had recorded for me. It was always a toss-up between the regular pony series (G1 mind you, not G3...gah, I am NOT that old), or the spin off My Little Pony Tales. I liked MLPT a bit better at the time. Good times <3
  13. Who was that dude from Rue's District that showed up for like 5 minutes total, mostly while saving Katniss from that one chick who tried killing her at the cornucopia? Yeah. Him. Gorgeous and the only one (aside from Rue) who didn't come off as a complete jerkhole (Rue wasn't a jerkhole but almost reaching my limit of sickeningly sweetness).
  14. I don't know what level is seriousness can be tolerated in the Life Advice section, if I'll really recieve advice or immature comments :(

Yeah immature and rude comments in the Advice Sections shall not be tolerated. Certainly we can have our immature fun, but NOT in a serious caring environment!

    4. Twilight Sparkle ✨

      Twilight Sparkle ✨

Yeah, Inky, if you see anything "startling", we want to know about it. There is never an issue that isn't "worthy" of a report.

The advice section is very mature, and closed off to anyone with under 40 posts. You have nothing to worry about. :-)

  15. 6.5/10 I like how clean it looks and well placed images and text, but it all seems sort of random with no common link.
  16. This is probably ancient news, but I figure where better to as than Derpy's fanclub Is it common knowledge that Derpy's eyes are un-derped for the Netflix Instant Play episodes of MLP? I finally got my sister to watch the show with me and every time Derpy pops up she asks about her eyes, and they're always normal. Perhaps I be looking in all the wrong scenes?
  17. Good job in insulting tons of American girls who really are average and not overweight.
  18. Which is exactly why folks should be more specific And also why it seriously blows to live in America.
  19. This whole 'average weight' thing is really subjective and kind of annoying. What is 'average' for weight anymore anyway?
  20. I could care less if it's overrated. I've loved the ponies since I was still in kindergarten and watch the G1 tapes my Grandma would tape for me. And I love that folks are pimping out G4 now, giving me the outlet to get back into them. It doesn't matter to me what their motivations are for watching it, nor should my motivations matter to anyone else. If you feel its overrated and want to pull away from the hype, then the only one stopping you is yourself and sitting around and whining about it and pointing fingers isn't really going to get you anywhere.
  21. So, because I, a complete stranger whom you have never met, believe in God, it is going to have an impact on your life? No. No it isn't. It has a huge impact on my life. And I don't see why I, or anyone else, needs to engage in any argument, good and well polished or not, in order to convince someone else why they do or don't believe in something. No matter how polite and intelligent someone may be in one of these 'online debates', plain and simple they are just not going to change someone else's mind about how they view religion. These topics only ever end up with a wall of defensiveness, trolling and utter stupidity as their outcome, no matter how noble the starting intentions.
  22. I'm Catholic, so yes, obviously believe in God. Why do people always feel that this topic is so interesting to discuss? On a forum about ponies on all things.
  23. Cause that's mature. Also, they didn't 'make Spike fat', he was originally drawn that way.
  24. I don't think a lot of folks here are old actually, seeing as the common age seems to be right in the middle of one's teen years. Get over yourselves people, that's not old. I'm 22 myself, about to turn 23 in just a couple months. You all make me feel old with all with your whining and whatnot about hitting the bit 2-0. Hmph.
