  1. Yes. They've been grasping at straws for a while now, trying to present a show that's always had identical episode formats in a different way. It's time to literally put the dog down.
  2. If I want to look nice: jeans, a T-shirt, and makeup. If I don't give a shasta: sweatpants, a T-shirt, and a ponytail. I try to force myself to not care about how other people see me and dress the way I want to (because I'm freaking lazy). Besides, I look horrible no matter what I wear, so why not go for the sweats?
  3. 6. I mean, I'm pretty into the show, but I'm a closet Brony and I'm not into pony merch.
  4. After a horrible attempt at sculpting my OC, I did a little Rarity sculpture based off how she looked in the rain in Rarity takes Manehatten: This time I tried to make the form a bit taller and thinner, like on the show. I'm pretty happy with this attempt, except that the figure didn't dry right, so the legs are a bit skewed and the mane looks horrible. I also couldn't figure out how to do the mouth, so I didn't make one. Still, it came out better than last time. And plus, "sucking at something is the first step to being sorta good at something" (Jake the dog), so I shall forge ahead. See how the legs are all wonky? Shoulda braced them better when they were drying. Sorry for the cruddy camera. This was off my phone.
  5. So... they're saying anime isn't real enough? That is pretty freaking true. I mean, I know it's a cartoon and it's supposed to have exaggeration aspects, but good god. The characters these days are so pointlessly archetypal with only the slightest amount of depth to them. Seems to me the problem with anime is that the storyline is too heavily influenced by out-there aesthetics, and they are really missing out on new talent in that area (storylines, not aesthetics). It seems to me anime is too bundled these days, and it makes it too easy for anime writers to go the lazy route with characters and stories. Like instead of basing characters on real life, they can just go into the pool of past ideas and pull out a loli boy, or a glasses character, or a pervert or cute character or sarcastic main or whatever. Anime is becoming based on anime, rather than relatable experiences.
  6. So basically there's a lot of ideas out there on what intelligence is, how it's measured, and what it means to us. I subscribe to the theory of multiple intelligences proposed by Gardner. Basically he proposes seven types of intelligence, which, briefly, are: linguistic, inter-personal, intra-personal, musical, visual-spatial, bodily-kinesthetic and logical-mathmatical. If you want to know a bit more about what those are, check this website here: http://www.tecweb.org/styles/gardner.html A person can have ability in all areas but usually specializes in a few specific ones as well. What kind of intelligence do you think you have? Which one do you value more highly, do you specialize in one or more areas? What kind would you like to have? I probably have the most ability in linguistic intelligence, but probably also spatial, because I'm pretty good at estimating volume or distance (but not numerically). Interpersonal is probably my worst. I don't really understand people in general. What about y'all?
  7. I have never taken an IQ test, but I'm going to guess that my score would be around the average, 100. IQ tests are pretty contested, too, as is the idea of intelligence in general. An IQ level certainly does not indicate academic or professional success, so measuring as "gifted" isn't anything to be overly proud of. Sorry, kid. Them's the breaks.
  8. If I am doing a job that I like, then I'm basically paid to have fun. Even if that's less than I'd get for being a doctor or a lawyer, I'd take it.
  9. Barely made it to the first weekend of the year. This is going to be a long semester.

  10. Sometimes I don't skip youtube ads. If they're funny or cute I'll watch 'em. Mostly though I get the same boring ones over and over, like Hollister or Charter, and those annoy the crap out of me.
  11. Probably somewhere around 85mph. I'm still not a very confident driver, so there's no way I'm gonna be trying for any faster in my old Honda.
  12. Rap, because it is usually offensive and profane. Techno or... dang, I think a friend called it digital? You know, "music" that's pretty much the same four beats over and over again, with maybe one line sung every once in a while. Spanish/Mariachi. Even though I lived in Mexico for over a year, I still can't stand this style. Or at least, I got sick of it after a while. It all sounds the same, and down South they like to play it so gosh darn LOUD. One time we were at an embassy party in Mexico City, and there was this Mariachi band there that stuffed a microphone down each of their instruments. Like INSIDE the freaking tuba. WHY? We were all sitting feet away from the actual band, we don't need any amplification! Anyways.... Screamo. Because it's screamo. Darkwave or emo. Because it's overly dramatic and tries to hard to be sad or scary. I think that's about it. I'm pretty picky with music, I guess.
  13. So maybe signing up for French instead of Spanish was a bad idea. Je ne comprends pas!

  14. I think tattoos are pretty sweet, even though I'd never get one myself. I just think I'd get bored of one after a week or so. I stick to temporary tattoos. A lot of people can't even tell the difference. It's pretty sweet.
  15. My level of excitement for this movie greatly exceeds infinity. I've been a Hobbit fan since I was 6, and in fact that was the book that inspired me to be writer. I've loved the movies so far, they are great adaptations from the original story, and I cannot WAIT to see the third. This is the only movie I care to see the midnight premiere of, and I am so FREAKING EXCITED!
  16. Classes start tomorrow. Hooray.

  17. Draco gets more character development in one act of A Very Potter Sequel than he does in the entire HP series. Shame on you, J. K. Rowling.

    1. The Crimson Cross

      The Crimson Cross

There's more Harry Potter going on?!

I thought it ended. I'll have to look into this.

    2. Phoenix Flair

      Phoenix Flair

Nah, it's a parody show from a couple years back. Very funny.

  18. I think her self-esteem levels are just fine. Letting people "walk all over her" all the time isn't about thinking they're better than her or that she somehow deserve poor treatment, it's just wanting to put their needs before hers and not make anypony unhappy. There is nothing wrong with being shy and reserved.
  19. Maybe some of you out there have long checklists someone would have to meet before you would consider getting in a relationship with them, I know I did, but what's the most important thing, in your opinion, that a potential spouse or BF/GF would HAVE to have? For me, it's passion. In high school the only boys who asked me out were... well, to put it nicely as I can, losers. They had no creative hobbies, no career interests, and no plans at all for their future. I don't understand how someone can't know what they want in life, or at least have something they want to accomplish. I look for guys who have something they're passionate about, whether that's their job, their hobby, their dreams, or their religion. I want to be in a relationship with someone who understands what it's like to be driven. What about y'all? What's the one thing your special somepony has to have?
  20. That sounds like a nightmare. I mean, the art would be fine, and I'm sure the songs would be okay, too, but... no offense to Brony writers... but the story itself would probably turn into a pile of shitake mushrooms, if you know what I mean. There would be ships all over the place, Luna would never leave the story, and there would be so many OP'd OC's shoved in at random places that Equestria would be bursting at the seams. Thank god we limit ourselves to fanmade content.
  21. Finished watching the Walking Dead Season 2 Playthrough. I didn't think Telltale could get me to cry again. I was wrong. :'(

  22. I can recognize most of the Ponies on page 3! My fandom knowledge is growing!
  23. Short answer: nope. MLP is more of a security blanket with me. I enjoy it on its own, but mostly I watch when something bad has happened in my life, or when I'm feeling particularly anxious. Otherwise it's just a casual need for a quality program.
