  1. It depends. If English is not the person's first language, then I don't bother. Because even though I grew up with it, even I know that English is a VERY hard language to grasp. However, these people, from what I see, DO try their best. And use real words. However, if you are a person above a certain age who simply cannot use proper words/grammar I do get a little ticked. We ALL went to primary school and were taught "you/you're, their/there/they're, and to/too/two." A typo here and there is no big deal, but when the post/text is littered with abbreviations and things like "Ur" and "2" as words, it drives me up the wall and into the next dimension. But, I don't police people on it either unless there's a VERY good reason for it. Like, if they want to debate and I can't take them seriously because their argument is littered with piss-poor grammar and typos and letters that aren't words. I'm sorry, but if you want to make a legitimate argument, please, please, PLEASE use proper speech. I don't know about other people, but I can't take a written argument seriously if it's improper and will assume the person is twelve and not worth fighting with. Or, if I just can't understand WTF someone is trying to say to me. In fact, my ex-friend once told me, "You are the ONLY person I have to text in complete sentences, what is WRONG with you?" Um, I don't speak text? And people using the excuse that the keyboard is small? They're just lazy. The only exception to all of this is when I, or my friends text and I say things like "I has" or "I is" because among our circle it's partly my thing, because I'm small and adorable and I'm usually trying to be cute when I use it. They don't mind and neither do I, but again, these are CLOSE friends who know me well enough to know I'm being cutesy.
  2. My parents know and they do not approve of it. But that's to be expected, they hate everything I like, fandom/media wise. They say the anime/manga I like is stupid, Sofia the First is stupid, Ever After High is stupid, Barbie movies are stupid, etc...And my being a brony just adds to the "concern" they have for me. I think they're afraid I'll never grow up and move out because my being in fandoms is keeping me from finding a man or something redonk like that (which, BTW they are WAY too concerned about). My father once asked me "why can't you be normal?" And my mother admitted that, "I hate your ponies." But in the end, I have a job and a paycheck and when I get spare income I can and will buy ponies and they can't do anything about it...Except shake their heads and say it's dumb. Which actually hurts enough on its own. Because I want them to be proud of/like me, but sometimes I feel like I'm just letting them down. But at the same time, I just CAN'T not be in fandoms. It's a vicious cycle.
  3. Thank you! I'll have to post an updated pic of Rarity's wardrobe at some point. It's actually kind of getting out of hand. Luckily, she does like to share with the others.
  4. How about...A song about a Girl who's sick of sterotypes and being used by guys tells them to scew off and looks inside herself to change. ("Just a silly little thing/That's all you've ever seen/But there's so much more to me") A song that encourages women to stay strong even when things get rough. (AKA: Theme for the Fruits Basket ladies (Mostly Akito)) A song that makes fun of celebrities. (Do I have talent? Well, no/These days you don't really need it/Thanks to reality shows) Follow your dreams, "Even [when they] break your heart" And of course...Murder. I LOVE country music and even though, yes I do see a pattern in a lot of it, I also appreciate and look for things like these where it's expanded beyond "pretty girl get in my truck"/"Let's go out and drink beer" and "Man isn't america great?"
  5. Sorry I haven't be around in awhile! I've just been busy with work and my writing is all. Have some more Rarity!
  6. When people who do not work in my department and have not been working at my store for as long as I have tell me how to do my freakin' job. This drives me up the wall because I'm like, "You don't work over here. You don't know what you're talking about. Go away and leave me to my own devices." I am not one of those people that needs to be babysat at work. I know how to do my job.
  7. Well, I have a friend that I call "Senpai." For those of you who don't know what that means, it's a Japanese term that refers to someone older than you (usually an upperclassmen in school) that you look up to and respect. She works with me, and one day she was just flustered and aggravated and I was like, "Senpai can't senpai." And my one coworker started calling her that too, and she was like, "No sir. It doesn't work that way because you're older than me." So he says, "Oh. That means I would be YOUR senpai." And she goes, without missing a beat, "That means I would have to respect you." (She really doesn't like this guy. He's nice, but kinda creepy.) Then he was all: O.o Well, I thought it was funny. XD
  8. Not sure if this really counts, but this was first in my history: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7QTIxSfMs0
  9. Can't wait to see Lady Antebellum in September!! I snagged two great tickets and am going with one of my best friends! It's gonna be awesome!

  10. Let's see...I'm really into Sofia the First. I have a bedspread, pillows and a good handful of merch. I've seen all the episodes to date and have the songs on my iPod. And yes, I know them all. I'm also into anime, though my big ones right now are Ouran High School Host Club and Fruits Basket. OMG Fruits Basket. There's just SOOOOO much to talk about there. (Akito is my baby! ) Oh, and BBC's Silk. Like with Furuba, there's SO much to talk about and the characters are so deep and ugh...I love it so much. OMG Baymax!!!!!! He's SO adorable. XD My only complaint with that film is that they didn't market it well at all. I want some more merch, darnit!
  11. I'm not really on either side of the fence. If the anime has only been aired in Japan, I'll watch it in Japanese with subs. If it's been dubbed, I'll go ahead and give the dub a try. For example, I've watched Toradora in both English and Japanese, and I like both just fine, same with Ouran High School Host Club. However, a good handful of the anime I've watched, I've had to watch with subs because the Western World has something against Magical Girls. The only anime I can say for sure that I prefer in English is Fruits Basket. Something about the voices just really clicks with me in the English version. Except Akito. Because she sounds like a creepy pedophile. (And it's weird.) I know, I know, a lot of people hate this dub, but I don't. Sorry not sorry.
  12. OMG, YOU too?! I absolutely despise blood tests! Last time, they had to stick BOTH my arms! It was not pleasant. Anyway, June 2nd was MY Rarity's Birthday! (According to her BaB certificate, that's when she came home with me) And this is what she got! Because Mummy is a sucker. XD Though, in my defence, two of those dresses WERE on clearance.
  13. I had to have been twelve or thirteen. (I remember writing smut at 13/14) I never got "the talk." Instead, I started taking sex ed in the fifth grade. Except, in fifth grade it was more of a "puberty happens" thing, but once I got to middle school they really started talking about it. Plus, my parents were always really honest about it. My dad is all "I don't care if you have sex. Sex is fun. Just use protection." My mum tends to be a bit more reserved though.
  14. I only ever regret it when my parents give me crap about it. In fact, sometimes I wish I could re-wire myself into being a normal twenty-one-year-old woman just so they would shut up. But, I just can't. (Yeah, it's weird. I'm a GIRL. A person expected to like cute things...And I get crap about this.) I get sick of being told to "stop buying pony crap" and to "grow up." Heck, even my Aunt told my Dad that he should "straighten me out." I know, I know, everyone else's problems are a lot worse, but this still bugs me. My parents are rather old-fashioned, you see. They basically operate on the idea that once I turned eighteen, I should have just became a grownup and moved on. They just don't understand that things are different and times are changed and that it's OKAY for young adults to be invested in fandoms and collect things like I do. That, just because they don't think it's "appropriate" doesn't mean other people do. In fact, they told me that, it's so NOT okay for guys to be bronies at all and that they're either all gay or losers who live in their parents' basement. I'm not easily offended, but that pissed me off. I have guy friends who are bronies who are perfectly "normal" people! To put it simply, they just don't get it. And I don't think they ever will. Trying to defend ANY part of my fandom life to them is like talking to a bloody wall. You think they would just be happy I don't smoke or drink or have two kids like everyone else my age. But, no. I worry them. However, despite this. I still ADORE and will continue to be a part this fandom. In fact, met one of my best friends (on-line) through this forum! And I love how we're all a community and how there's always something new to discover about the show or the fandom. For example, I suck at analysing this show, but others are awesome with it! And really help give me insight to the hidden things in it, since I tend to be interested in the production aspects of the shows I like. This fandom is awesome. I like the community feel and how, for the most part, I've always felt like what I had to say in it was relevant, albeit mundane.
  15. Don't judge me, but I just started watching Sekaii-ichi Hatsukoi. It kept showing up in these MEPs I was watching and the artork was pretty, so I decided to see what all the fuss was about. It should be noted that I am SO not into Yaoi (one look at my anime list will tell you that..It's mainly shojo and magical girl) but I figured I'd give the show a chance and it's pretty decent so far. Plays out like a normal, anime love story...but with guys. And the background stuff about manga publishing is really helping me with one of my stories! (I have a character who's a mangaka).
  16. The latest piece of merch I own, a friend actually bought for me. It was this pony cup . And I also got Luna AND Cadance. Together. For $23. How? I hoarded $30 worth of Build-a-Bear coupons and used them all at once. Though, I don't think the lady at the register was amused. XD I have their outfits too, BTW. They're just not wearing them in this picture.
  17. Hello Everypony! I know it's been awhile...I just haven't found anything particularly interesting to share until recently...Kind of happens when you get stuck at home with no money... Anyway, about a week ago, my friend and I went to a supermarket and found a TY display...With ONE lone Rarity. Now, we didn't buy here, because I already have one...But I DID fix her hair. it was atrocious before I got a hold of her. This was the result: Plus, for Easter the same friend got me a tiny TY Rarity keychain! And one of those cute, freezable cups...Featuring her! In other words, I've had a lot of nice, Rarity encounters lately!
  18. Dear Sofia the First writers: Get your titles right! Princess Amber and Prince James are "Highnesses" NOT "Majesties!" Please and Thank You.

Didn't do the research, I guess.

Well a lot of the show is like that. It's kind of a historical mess too. While the architecture and clothing scream Victorian, the way they talk and some of the modernisations they throw in there stick out. Plus, there's the whole, royal school where they don't learn history and literature and how to run your kingdom...Like, I said, I adore Sofia...but sometimes I'm like...Um...Research?

Just repeat the MST3K Mantra. ;)

  19. Marina and the Diamonds' new album is FROOTiful! Seriously, GO GET IT!!!!

  20. SO excited that I found a plushie Sunset Shimmer at work last night!! She's so freakin' CUTE!!!

WOA :) That is great plushies are so cute :)

  21. Long time, no see Darlings! I've been busy with some stuff...But I went out with my friend yesterday. We were just wasting time in places like Target and Kmart and...Look what I found! Fabulous things!!! My only complaint? I feel like they should have used a better colour...like purple for the keychain. Also, after she got voted most attractive pony, Rarity got a nice new dress (and matching bows)! Because she deserved it. And because Mummy is a sucker.
  22. Not sure if I'm a bad writer or if the people on FF.net are just stingy reviewers...Is that a thing?

...did read your latest story, and I can say that it's definitely not because your writing is bad! :)

Well, thank you, Darling! It's nice to hear that. I have a friend who said the same thing. He was like, "I don't know anything about Fruits Basket, but the writing is good!" That one in particular baffles me, because the fanbase is huge. At least with Silk the lack of feedback makes more sense. It's a small fanbase and the story I wrote is hidden by default because it's 'am' rated.

      I mean 'M.' Stupid autocorrect.

  23. I drive an automatic because I haven't learned stick yet. But, I do want to learn one day. The only manual car we have is my dad's truck and I'm too small to drive it. My friend offered to teach me in her car, but I have another problem. I can't drive for crap with just the left hand (I'm American) so in order for me to drive stick, I need a European car, because I'm great at driving with the right hand! It's weird.
  24. I like kids. Because I'm a kid at heart. Also, I spent a lot of time doing Elsa Meet and Greets over the summer, so I developed a love and a high tolerance for young children. However, if they're running around screaming and destroying my department, yes, I will find them irritating. But, for the most part I find them cute and I love talking to them. They're so imaginative and innocent and adorable!
  25. I don't ever wear shoes outside if I can get away with it! I hate wearing shoes...and socks for that matter. But, if it's cold, I will put slippers on. In the summer, when I have to go out, I LIVE in my favourite Monster High flip-flops. Side note: At my college, it's OKAY to not wear shoes to class! In fact, it's encouraged. I was like, "I love this place."
